‘Stick' Review: Owen Wilson's Rocky Redemption Tour
Actor Owen Wilson has spent his entire career playing what in theatrical parlance is known as the juvenile. So there's some poignancy to be found in watching him play the unshaved, unkempt and unbarbered Pryce Cahill of 'Stick,' an ex-superstar of golf trying to reconcile with his past and mold a young player's future. The series is essentially a 10-episode sports movie, with all the hooks, shanks and holes that come with the territory, so the outright surprises are few. But it's the kind of thing one will like, if one has any affection for Mr. Wilson's brand of arrested adolescence.
As a seasoned Wilson observer might expect, his character has a lot of nerve mentoring anyone. His less-than-late-model lemon Corvette needs a serious paint job. He's been squatting in his ex-wife's house for two years. He smokes pot, gets the munchies, and washes down Lucky Charms with beer. He's a great salesman, though. And while that's not enough to salvage his job as the club pro in Fort Wayne, Ind., it does help Pryce get over on Santiago Wheeler (the Chalamet-ish Peter Dager) and his mother, Elena (Mariana Treviño). Pryce has discovered the 17-year-old phenomenon—the Mozart of golf—driving balls at a local range. Santi has demons. So does Pryce, aka Stick. Elena, sizing up the situation and not being a dope, wants $100,000 before she lets Pryce take Santi on a golf tour. And she's going along.

Former Indiana team doctor accused of sexual misconduct by at least 15 men's basketball players
Former Indiana team doctor accused of sexual misconduct by at least 15 men's basketball players Content warning: This article contains alleged depictions of sexual misconduct At least 15 former Indiana University men's basketball players allege sexual misconduct by former team physician Dr. Bradford Bomba, according to ESPN. Advertisement Two former Indiana players — Haris Mujezinovic and Charlie Miller — originally filed a lawsuit against the university last October. Since then, at least three other ex-athletes have joined the lawsuit, and 10 additional men are planning to "pursue litigation," their attorney told ESPN. Bomba, who served as the team's physician for roughly 30 years, is accused of regularly giving players rectal exams during physicals. Rectal exams were not considered standard protocol for healthy, college-aged men at the time the exams were allegedly being performed, per ESPN. The former players believe those exams constitute sexual misconduct. They also allege university officials — including legendary coach Bob Knight — were aware of the exams and did nothing to stop them. Players claim they complained about the exams to Knight and former head athletic trainer Tim Garl, who continued to refer players to Bomba. Knight died in 2023. Garl served as the team's head athletic trainer for 45 years. Indiana declined to renew his contract in April. After the initial lawsuit was filed, Bomba was found competent to be questioned about the allegations. He took part in that deposition in December, invoking his Fifth Amendment right multiple times. Bomba, 89, died in May. Advertisement When the allegations dropped, Indiana commissioned an outside investigation into the situation. It determined that while Bomba did perform those exams, he did so in a "clinically appropriate manner." The investigation added there was "no evidence to suggest that Dr. Bomba achieved sexual gratification," per ESPN. At least two men reportedly considering filing suit contradicted those findings, with one claiming Bomba "fondled his genitalia" during a physical. Another man said Bomba performed a rectal exam on the man when he was a minor in high school. Indiana argued in court filings that the allegations by the ex-players fall outside the state's two-year statute of limitations regarding sexual-assault claims, per ESPN. In May, a magistrate judge allowed the plaintiffs to continue gathering records regarding the lawsuit. It's possible a presiding district court judge could dismiss the claims, however.

Joshua Jackson in custody battle with his ex-wife over daughter's schooling
The ink has barely dried on Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith's divorce papers, and already the exes are locked in a bitter legal dispute over their shared parenting arrangement. The Doctor Odyssey star has filed an emergency custody review, claiming his ex-wife enrolled their five-year-old daughter, Juno, in a new school without his consent. In the documents, obtained by People magazine, Joshua (46) alleges that Jodie (38) believes, 'it's no big deal to force Juno to start over with a new school'. He also complains that the new school is 45 minutes away from his home, making regular drop-offs and pick-ups nearly impossible for him. However, Joshua's concern goes beyond the school change itself. 'Jodie is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school,' he claims. The Dawson's Creek star wants the court to order that their daughter remains in her current school in Calabasas, in Los Angeles, for the upcoming academic year. He also wants it stipulated that both parents must agree before any future school changes can be made. View this post on Instagram A post shared by THE AGENCY: CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE (@theagency_sho) Joshua and Jodie met at a 2018 party hosted by R&B singer Usher. They married in secret a year later before welcoming Juno in April 2020. In October 2023, the British model and actress filed for divorce on the grounds of 'irreconcilable differences'. Joshua recently told USA Today that he believes Jodie is attempting to change their daughter's schooling so there is more flexibility for Juno to accompany her when she needs to travel for work. READ MORE| 'I don't think of it as a failure' – Jodie Turner-Smith on divorcing Joshua Jackson He says he thinks maintaining educational stability is important for their daughter's well-being during her formative years – something he didn't experience as a child actor. 'I started acting at a young age. I have spent a lot of time with on-set or on-location tutors,' he said. 'Even in the best case, it cannot begin to provide a child with the same nurturing and enrichment, peer relationships and social skills that a classroom and school community environment provides.' He added that Juno has already endured a lot of changes, from their divorce to her home burning down during the LA wildfires in January, so she doesn't need any more turmoil. 'Unnecessary school change cannot be in her interests.' Jodie is yet to speak publicly on the matter. Despite their legal woes, it seems they're both moving on with their lives. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Joshua Jackson (@vancityjax) Jodie currently stars in The Agency as Dr Sami Zahir, an academic who becomes romantically involved with an undercover CIA agent. Describing her role she says, 'I love playing a dark-skinned Sudanese woman speaking Arabic on this show. I believe it's one of the most beautiful languages on this planet and I hope that Arabic-speaking people feel represented.' She is also set to be filming in London throughout next year. Meanwhile, Joshua is gearing up to return to his home in LA, which had to be rebuilt after being destroyed in the wildfires.

Pacers vs. Thunder Game 1 prediction, odds: 2025 NBA Finals pick, best bets
Gambling content 21+. The New York Post may receive an affiliate commission if you sign up through our links. Read our editorial standards for more information. It's not the NBA Finals anyone envisioned, but two of the league's smallest markets are competing for a ring in 2025. Oklahoma City is a massive -800 series favorite at bet365, with the Pacers sitting at +550. These are the second-longest odds we have seen in an NBA Finals matchup since 2005, with the only bigger favorites being the 2017-18 Warriors, who were -1075 against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in his final year before heading to Hollywood. In Game 1, the Pacers are big 9.5-point road underdogs with the moneyline coming in at +340. Indiana has been excellent on the road, going 6-2 away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse this postseason. It will require a herculean effort to replicate that against a Thunder team that is 80-18 between the regular season and playoffs. We've talked about the Pacers' ability to dominate late in games, but some cracks in the armor reared their ugly heads at the back-end of that Knicks series. For starters, the bench appeared to give the Pacers some problems once now ex-Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau opened up his lineups and gave some much-needed minutes to Landry Shamet and Delon Wright. Tyrese Haliburton warms up prior to Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs against the New York Knicks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on May 31, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Getty Images Now, imagine Wright and Shamet being replaced with Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace and you have a tough time wearing down your opposition as the Pacers did the Knicks. The Thunder have too many pieces that they can call on if some of their starters need a rest so I suspect Oklahoma City wins this series rather easily, at worst in six games, but likely before that. After posting a strong net rating through two rounds of the playoffs and early on against the Knicks, the Pacers cratered to the end the series and have a 0.0 net rating in final quarters during the playoffs. Indiana is 12-4 in the fourth quarter during the playoffs, the same record as the Thunder, but all wins are not created equal. Twelve minutes played against the Denver Nuggets is not the same as 12 minutes played against the Knicks or Heat. Betting on the NBA? Look to Oklahoma City to win this series going away, thanks to suffocating defensive pressure and strong depth at all positions that should work against Indiana's run-and-gun strategy. Live bet the Thunder if the young team gets first-half jitters and you can get them at plus-money and back their fourth quarter against the spread price of -1.5 (-108).
