Rolls enthusiast Bryan Fitton, 82, was staying at Orsett Hall Hotel near Grays, Essex, when the theft happened in the early hours of June 29.
The £300,000-plus vehicle and another 25 Rolls Royces were due to be loaded on the ferry at Tilbury Docks later that day ahead of a trip to Helsinki, Finland for a European tour.
Bryan, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, said: 'To have the vehicle stolen ahead of dropping it off at Tilbury Docks for the ferry to Helsinki is absolutely heartbreaking, but this is a happy ending.
'I was hoping someone would spot the car as it's so rare and help me get the trip of a lifetime back on track – hence the reward and thankfully it worked.

'The car is full of irreplaceable parts – it's an original and has even got the original Lady on the grill.
'The car has been all over the world and is an advert for British motors – it's been everywhere and it was just appalling that it got stolen in Essex.'
The 82-year-old was "heartbroken" at the loss and offered a reward of £2,000 for the safe return of his pride and joy.
Orsett Hall Hotel declined to comment after the theft and said the matter was in the hands of Essex Police who had launched an investigation.

"It was thanks to the power of the press that the car has been recovered," Bryan said.
"A schoolboy spotted it and told his father he'd seen a lovey vintage car – his dad had seen the publicity about the theft and got in touch to help with the recovery.
"Essex Police went to the area it was spotted in and recovered it intact on the trailer from a dirty old shed.
"The vehicle has survived Hitler and World War Two and now it's survived a trip to Essex – I am delighted it has been recovered.
"I am hoping the reward is a small fortune for the young lad and hope that shows him that doing the right thing in life pays off."
The Sun has reached out to Essex Police for comment.
The car came from a British Petroleum collection in Denmark decades ago via an auction at Bonhams.

Bryan has since spent years rebuilding the engine and exhibiting it round the planet.
The Silver Ghost has toured England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, Portugal and Spain.
But this was set to be retired company director Bryan's first trip to the Baltic States in the Silver Ghost.
The 1920 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost's registration number is U 5694 and chassis number 39EE.
Development of the Silver Ghost goes back to the start of the 20th century.
Around 7874 Silver Ghosts were produced between 1907 and 1926, with American President Woodrow Wilson even owning one of the cars.
It was named the best car in the world by Autocar in 1907.

Son of '90s singer jailed for 10 years after message identified famous dad

A 30-year-old drug dealer was put behind bars for 10 years after police tracked him down due to his famous dad. A team of specialist investigators identified him from messages about his musician father. An associate within their drug network even sent him a picture of his famous dad and made comments which confirmed their relationship. Thomas Hooton, the son of The Farm lead singer Peter Hooton, has been jailed and sentenced to 10 years and eight months for the supply of cocaine, ketamine, cannabis and heroin. The 30-year-old drug dealer, who had previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply drugs, was using the name "Ownraptor" and quickly became a trusted broker of multi-million-pound drug deals. Thomas also wrote in messages that he was driving a black Audi A3 and his "arl fella", meaning his dad, had arranged the insurance. Thomas was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday. On the back of his arrest by Merseyside's Organised Crime Partnership in April this year, Thomas made the decision to plead guilty. Peter Hooton at a festival in 2016 (Image: West Lothian Courier) He had been using the messaging service EncroChat to broker his drug deals, which reportedly had the street value of an estimated £1.3 million (€1.49 million). Police were also able to detect that he had been using more than 40 names for contact and had also set up a county lines supply that covered Scotland, north-east and the south of England. A spokesperson for the National Crime Agency said: "At the very minimum, Hooton was involved in the supply of 42.5kg of cannabis, 3.25kg of heroin, 10kg of cocaine and 1kg of ketamine." They added: "His messages said he was in possession of around £400,000 (€458,000) and owed £258,000 (€295,000)." The offences which led to his arrest were reportedly between March 26 and June 4 five years ago. Detective Chief Inspector Lynsay Armbruster said: "It's clear Hooton was involved in organised crime for a long time before he was charged. His criminal and geographical reach will have taken considerable time to establish. His drug supply operations were on an almost daily basis, they were sustained and spanned the UK working with high level criminals." EncroChat was deactivated in 2020 by a European investigation team. The Mirror has reached out to Peter Hooton for a comment. Uber will give women in US a choice to only travel with other women - but no plans to do it in Ireland

UBER IS INTRODUCING a feature in some US cities that will enable women to ask to only be paired with drivers who are also women – but has no plans to bring the measure to Ireland. The ride-sharing company announced this week that it is piloting a feature called 'Women Preferences' in three US cities in the coming weeks. The function will allow women using the app – both passengers and drivers – to request to only be matched with other women on trips. The pilot will start with Los Angeles, San Francisco and Detroit, with intentions to expand further across the US. Several dozen countries (Ireland isn't one of them) already have an option in the app for women drivers to request to only be paired with other women as passengers, but this will be the first time that passengers have the option. In a statement to The Journal , Uber said it does not currently plan to introduce the feature in Ireland. 'This is just a US product,' a spokesperson said. More choice. More control. Women told us they wanted the option to be matched with other women—and we listened. Now, after piloting these features in dozens of countries, we're bringing Women Preferences to the US. 🙋‍♀️ Riders can choose a woman driver 🚘 Drivers get more… — Uber (@Uber) July 23, 2025 Advertisement Other taxi apps operating in Ireland include Freenow and Bolt. Freenow is being acquired by Lyft, another taxi app, which has a similar feature in the US called Women+ Connect. In a statement to The Journal, Freenow Ireland General Manager, Danny O'Gorman said that Women+ Connect has been 'well received in the US' and it is 'currently evaluating whether and how similar features could be relevant for European markets'. 'Supporting passenger and driver safety is a key priority for Freenow, and we are committed to providing safe and reliable service to app users through safety features like 'Share your trip', which allows the trip to be shared with friends or family,' O'Gorman said. 'Taxi drivers in Ireland are regulated by the National Transport Authority and require full vetting by An Garda Síochána before obtaining their taxi licence,' he said. Bolt, which has a feature in some countries for passengers called 'Women for Women', said that it keeps the available locations under review but that there are barriers in the industry to growing the number of women working as taxi drivers. Kimberly Hurd, Bolt's Senior General Manager for Ireland, said: 'Safety is a top priority for Bolt, and we're always looking at new ways to support both passengers and drivers. We introduced a 'Women for Women' feature in several countries, which allows women passengers to request women drivers where available. 'While this feature is not currently available in Ireland, we're constantly reviewing where it could be rolled out next,' Hurd said, adding that Bolt has other in-app safety features like an emergency assist button. 'As a woman in the industry, increasing the diversity of drivers is a particular focus of mine. However, a major barrier to growing the number of women in the industry is the current regulatory environment,' she said. 'The cost of entering the market is high and the SPSV Driver Entry Test needs modernisation to better reflect today's technology and operating conditions. These issues need to be addressed if we're serious about improving diversity across the sector.' Readers like you are keeping these stories free for everyone... TESLA has been showcasing its cutting-edge Full Self-Driving technology in the UK as part of preparations for a potential future rollout. Led by billionaire Elon Musk, the US-based EV giant has been rigorously testing its FSD system across major European cities, including Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Berlin and Madrid, to demonstrate its ability to handle diverse and complex real-world road conditions. 4 Tesla has begun testing its self-driving cars in the UK, with footage showing navigating the streets of London Credit: Tesla Europe 4 A Tesla Model 3 can be seen driving past iconic landmarks such as Big Ben and Parliament Square Credit: Tesla Europe 4 These demonstrations aim to showcase the system's ability to handle dynamic traffic situations Credit: Tesla Europe 4 The tech was even put through its paces by tackling the infamous Magic Roundabout in Swindon Credit: Tesla Europe In two videos, which debuted today and have been seen by Sun Motors, the company demonstrates a self-driving Tesla Model 3 navigating through central London and tackling the infamous Magic Roundabout in Swindon - known for its complexity. These demonstrations aim to showcase the system's ability to handle dynamic traffic situations, pedestrians, cyclists, roadworks and the UK's challenging intersections. The test in London sees the Tesla pass iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, Parliament Square and Whitehall, while the system successfully manages diverse traffic conditions, signalling appropriately and delivering a smooth ride. The FSD tech was also tested on this notoriously complicated intersection with five mini-roundabouts. Tesla demonstrated the system's ability to handle unpredictable traffic scenarios by navigating it multiple times. Watch Tesla test self-driving cars on London streets as it passes famous landmarks Despite previous promises for self-driving cars to be rolled out in 2026., the new government has put back the date to the second half of 2027. It is estimated that this new industry has the potential to be worth £42billion and provide 38,000 jobs by 2035. Limited self-driving technology is currently permitted on UK roads, but a human driver must be behind the wheel at all times. Recently, Uber revealed they were working with 18 automated car tech companies to help meet this new demand. According to a 2024 YouGov poll, 37 per cent of Brits would feel 'very unsafe' travelling in a driverless car, although Americans seem to have quickly adapted - with the tech available in Arizona and California with self-driving taxi firm Waymo offering services in Phoenix, San Francisco , Los Angeles and parts of Silicon Valley. In a recent statement the 'We are also exploring options for short-term trials and pilots to create the right conditions for a thriving self-driving sector.'
