Lauren Sánchez Bezos's Ongoing Fashion Fascination with Sophia Loren

By her own admission, Lauren Sánchez Bezos did not marry Jeff Bezos in the kind of gown she initially envisioned. Originally, she told Vogue's Chloe Malle that she had visions of a strapless dress. But after going on a Blue Origin space flight to the Kárman line, both her perspective about her life—and style—shifted. 'It went from 'I want a simple, sexy modern dress' to 'I want something that evokes a moment,' and where I am right now. I am a different person than I was five years ago,' she said.
So, she researched pictures of brides from the 1950s. One in particular stuck with her: Sophia Loren's wedding dress from the 1958 movie Houseboat. 'I said, 'That's it. That's the dress.'' After several conversations with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana made her a high lace neck mermaid-line gown with 180 hand-finished, silk chiffon-covered buttons that took over 1900 hours to make. 'The whole thing was like a dream,' Sánchez says.
Loren's original—and fictional—dress was made by legendary costume designer Edith Head, who received eight Academy Awards (as well as a total of 35 nominations) and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her work with Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. She's known for crafting the clothes worn by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's, Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief, and Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard.

Although Loren has been a consistent style inspiration for Sánchez. In April, Sánchez attended the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in a 1994 John Galliano dress once worn by the Fellini muse. On a now-deleted Instagram post (Sanchez cleared her profile after officially marrying Bezos) she called her an 'icon of strength and timeless beauty.' It seems likely that Sánchez may have more Old Hollywood fashion nods up her (long lace) sleeves.

Sydney Sweeney, More Celebs Go for Stroll in Venice on Morning of Wedding

The rain in Venice brought out a beautiful sight Friday morning ... not a rainbow, but the gorgeous faces of Hollywood's A-list instead. A few of the guests who will attend Jeff and Lauren's impending nuptials went for a stroll along the canals in Venice ... including Sydney Sweeney, who flashed some skin in a leggy and low-cut black dress. Leonardo DiCaprio's longtime partner, Vittoria Ceretti, proved a rose by any other name is just as sweet ... even the roses on her dress -- a sweet addition to her skintight gown. Orlando Bloom, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Tommy Hilfiger were among just a few of the stars who got an early start to their day after a stormy evening last night. As we told you ... the wedding guests were completely soaked late Thursday night -- getting caught in a rainstorm after the wedding rehearsal while lightning lit up the sky. It looks like Friday -- the day Lauren and Jeff are supposed to get married -- will be a little brighter for them all ... with no rain coming down on their proverbial parade.

KING OF THE HILL Revival Is Bringing Alamo Beer to Real Life, and Yep... It's Real, I Tell You What — GeekTyrant

King of the Hill is officially returning to TV with a 10-episode revival dropping all at once on Hulu. But the comeback isn't just happening on screens, it's also making its way into your fridge. For the first time ever, fans will be able to crack open an actual Alamo Beer, just like Hank, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer. San Antonio's Alamo Beer Co. has teamed up with Hulu to brew a real-world version of the show's fictional go-to beverage. The collaboration has been confirmed by brewery founder Eugene Simor, who shared: 'We're just trying to finalize when the actual date will be for release. It's real.' While there's no official date just yet, the plan is to have it out in time for the revival's August 4 release. The beer made its first appearance at a cast event back in May, but fans are still waiting for it to hit store shelves. The revival series is set years after the original finale, and a lot has changed, except for Hank Hill's love of beer. According to the show's new storyline, Hank, Peggy, and Bobby have spent time abroad in Saudi Arabia due to Hank's job, and they're now returning to an America that feels unfamiliar. While the country might be different, Hank remains the same propane-loving, beer-drinking dad we've always known. Showrunner Saladin K. Patterson recently spoke about Hank's worldview and how it's aged in today's social climate: 'Hank always represented the sensible middle, the old show did a great job handling the extremes and kind of pushing people towards what the common-sense middle was. Well, Hank's been gone, and while he's gone, the country's changed so much that where Hank stood in the middle isn't really the middle anymore.' The revival promises a mix of change and familiarity, with the Hill family dealing with the new world around them in their signature, quietly hilarious fashion. No word yet on where exactly you'll be able to pick up a six-pack of the official Alamo Beer, but if you've ever wanted to drink like Hank Hill, this is your moment.

William Shatner Gets Candid About ‘Ups and Downs' of Living with 'Permanent Tinnitus': ‘I Know' How ‘Difficult It Can Get'

William Shatner opened up about the "ups and downs" of living with tinnitus — which he was diagnosed with in the 1990s — in a candid new video Shatner said he was left with "permanent tinnitus" after standing too close to a special effects explosion on the set of Star Trek Tinnitus is a condition in which a person hears a 'ringing, buzzing, whooshing sound in their ears' that 'no one else can hear'William Shatner is opening up about his tinnitus in the name of a good cause. The Star Trek star, 94, spoke out about the difficulties of living his life with the condition in a new video for the nonprofit Tinnitus Quest, whose mission is to raise money for research aimed at finding a cure or treatment for the condition. 'My own journey with tinnitus started when I was filming a Star Trek episode called 'Arena,' and I was too close to the special effects explosion, and the result was that I was left with permanent tinnitus,' Shatner shared in the video. 'And over the years, I've had many ups and downs with my tinnitus, and I know from firsthand experience just how difficult it can get,' he added. Tinnitus is a condition in which a person hears a 'ringing, buzzing, whooshing sound in their ears' that 'no one else can hear,' according to the American Tinnitus Association. It can be either temporary or chronic and affects about 50 million American adults. Shatner — who was diagnosed with tinnitus in the 1990s and has experienced the chronic form of the condition throughout his life — also noted in the video that 'about 1% to 2% of the population suffer from a chronic, debilitating form of tinnitus' and 'there are no effective treatments' for it. 'The more money we can raise for Tinnitus Quest, the quicker we can find a solution to help the millions of people suffering,' the actor said. 'Thank you so much for watching, and I hope you will consider donating to Tinnitus Quest.' This isn't the first time the Boston Legal star has spoken candidly about his condition. In a 2023 interview with E! News, he recalled the first time he realized he had the condition and shared how it has impacted his life since. He also said the condition will hit him at the most unexpected times. 'I was on the beach and it's a vivid moment, and you know how the waves go out — the wave comes in [roars] and then it goes 'ssss' [as it] goes out. All of a sudden, I kept hearing a 'ssss' even though there was another wave coming. And that's how I discovered [I had tinnitus],' he explained. 'And it started, and I went to the doctor and said, 'Will it get worse?' And he said, 'It might not.' But of course it does as you age, it gets worse,' he continued. Shatner noted that he eventually got used to the sound, explaining, "your brain starts to assimilate the sound, like it would if you were living beside an airport." However, there are still times when it gets overwhelming. 'Sometimes it's really bad, but I know it's not going to kill me,' he said. Read the original article on People
