New Pokémon x Ippudo collaboration has Pikachu on board as ramen chef
Exclusive goods only available at one Pokémon Center in Japan.
On 13 May, the Pokémon Center in Fukuoka closed its original location at Hakata AMU Plaza in order to move to a new, larger location at Hakata Marui, set to open on 27 June.
The character mascots for Pokémon Center Fukuoka are Pikachu, Latias, and Latios, chosen for their connection to Kyushu, the island where Fukuoka is located, and which serves as the inspiration for Hoenn, the setting for several main Pokémon games.
While the revamp is certain to attract the attention of fans, the Center is adding another perk to draw visitors, with an exclusive collaboration with popular ramen chain Ippudo. Born in Fukuoka, this chain is widely known for its 'Akamaru' ('Red') and 'Shiromaru' ('White') ramen, and these signature dishes form the basis for the collaboration.
There are six items to collect, starting with the 'Ippudo Silky Tonkotsu Ramen Shiromaru Original/Akamaru New Flavour 2-Pack Set'.
▼ The pack, like the other items in the range, features the three character mascots, with Pikachu dressed as a ramen chef.
Priced at 972 yen (US$6.74), this set contains one serving each of red and white broth, complete with noodles and condiments to give you the authentic Ippudo experience at home.

Both the Shiromaru, with its classic creamy tonkotsu (pork bone) broth, and the Akamaru, with added spicy red miso paste, have their diehard followers, and this set lets members of each faction enjoy their favourite variety at home, with Pokémon characters on board as dining companions.
The ramen, bowls, chopsticks, and soup spoons look sure to be a hit with both ramen and Pokémon lovers, but quantities are limited, so you'll have to act fast to catch 'em.
The items can be purchased from 10:00 a.m. on 27 June at Pokémon Center Fukuoka and Pokémon Center Online, although they will be available for sale at a special pre-opening preview event at the store on 26 June. After the official opening, entry restrictions by advance lottery may be implemented to avoid congestion inside the store, so please check the official Pokémon website for updates.

Pokémon Cafe's new Mega Charizard curry plate is a work of art in more ways than one
Pokémon Cafes in Tokyo and Osaka welcome Mega Evolutions back as main dishes, desserts, and drinks in the buildup to Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The next major Pokémon video game release on the horizon, Pokémon Legends: Z-A , is bringing back the Mega Evolution gameplay mechanic, which was first seen in Z-A's predecessor, Pokémon X and Y . But while Z-A isn't coming out until October, Mega Evolution Pokémon will be showing up in just a few weeks' time at Japan's Pokémon Cafe. The themed restaurants in Tokyo and Osaka will be adding a Mega Evolution Charizard Flamethrower Curry Plate to the menu, which is both a fiery meal and, in multiple ways, a work of art. The first artistic medium is the food itself, with Charizard sculpted out of seasoned rice and breathing a blast of curry, bringing to mind the Pokémon's Flamethrower attack. Each plate also comes with either a Charizardite X or Charizardite Y Mega Stone, which can be seen at the top right corner of the dish in these preview shots. You will, of course, want to whip out your phone and take some photos of your food before you start eating, and while you've got it out, you'll also want to scan the code on the back of the Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y card your server will bring you. Once you've done that, swing your camera's lens back towards your plate of Charizard curry, and some cool AR effects will fire up, the cafe mysteriously promises. For those looking for a more serene way to include Mega Evolution elements in their meal, the Pokémon Cafe chefs will also be whipping up a Mega Ampharos Sparkling Caramel Cream Cake. The dessert is sort of like a Japanese purin/custard pudding in cake form, with layers of custard cream, sponge cake, caramel sauce, and whipped cream, plus a sparkly motif befitting the Light Pokémon. Eight Mega Evolutions are also being added to the Pokémon Cafe's latte art roster, with both Mega Charizards and the Mega Ampharos joined by Mega versions of Kangaskhan, Ampharos, Gardevoir, Altaria, Lucario, and Absol. All of these are available to grace caffe lattes, caffe mochas, and hot caramel drinks. What's especially cool is that while latte art is random at most themed cafes in Japan, the Pokémon Cafe lets you pick which Mega Evolution you want. ▼ The Mega Evolutions also appear on coasters (one given at random for each drink order) and dual-layer stickers (one at random for every set of entree and dessert). The lattes are priced at 935 yen (US$6.45), the Mega Ampharos cake at 2,640 yen, and the Charizard curry at 3,640 yen. They'll all be available starting June 14 at both the Tokyo and Osaka Pokémon Cafes, reservations for which can be made here. More huge life-size Eevee Pokémon evolution plushies are coming to take over your home【Photos】
The second generation of 1:1-scale stuffed animals remind us that little Eevees grow into great big Eeveelutions. Last month, the Pokémon Center revealed some very eye-catching, and eye-opening, Pokémon plushies for the set of Eevee evolutions, or Eeveelutions, as they're also known. How so? Because they're life-sized, and with Eevee being about the size of a housecat, not everyone was fully aware of just how big its evolved forms are. The 1:1-scale (as per their official Pokédex profiles) plushie collection kicked off with Water-type Vaporeon, and Fire-type Flareon, and Electric-type Jolteon. But that's just the tip of the Eeveelution iceberg, so now they're being joined by Psychic-type Espeon and Dark-type Umbreon, who made their debuts in Pokémon's second generation. Umbreon looks big enough to eat the woman in that photo, if it so desired, but if you're after a more numeric measurement of its size, the plushie is 76 centimeters (29.9 inches) in length. The Espeon plushie is even bigger, at 83 centimeters. ▼ 'Umm…hey Umbreon and Espeon. Do…do I have your permission to come up to the second floor of my house?' ▼ 'Ah, no, that's cool. You guys can have my bed. I can sleep on the floor.' ▼ 'Oh, the floor belongs to you now too? Sure, yeah, that's fine. I'll just scooch over towards the corner so I'm not in your way.' Between Umbreon's shadowy color scheme and Espeon's mysterious eyes, these two might not have quite the same cuteness quotient as some of their Eeveelutions cousins, but they definitely make a statement as part of your home décor. They're sure to be conversation starters whenever you have friends over, and some of those conversations might be 'Hey, can you help me move my Eeveelutions?', since Espeon weighs 3.6 kilograms (7.9 pounds), and Umbreon is even bulkier, at 4.4 kilos. Both life-size Eeveelutions are priced at 44,000 yen (US$303), with preorders now open here through Pokémon Center Online and running until June 16, and shipping slated for January of next year. Uniqlo releasing first-ever Pokémon T-shirts inspired by Trading Card Game artwork【Photos】
Collaboration features big Pokémon's stars and lesser-known species too. Uniqlo has announced that they've got a new line of Pokémon T-shirts on the way, and while the casual clothing chain and multimedia entertainment franchise have teamed up a few times before, there's something unique about this collaboration. That's because while previous designs have taken their inspiration from how the Pocket Monsters look in the franchise's anime and video games, this new Uniqlo line will be the first one ever based on the art of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Starting things off is Pikachu, who, as you can probably guess, has been the subject of a whole lot of Pokémon cards created by different illustrators. The shirt can be considered a greatest-hits compilation, with several dozen cards arranged in the shape of the Pokémon franchise mascot himself. The rest of the line narrows things down to a single image per species, each coming from a specific card, such as the Mega Symphonia Mega Gardevoir ex-version of Gardevoir. ▼ Hmm…would this shirt fit on that life-size Gardevoir plushie? High-profile fan favorites Slowpoke and Magikarp also show up, the former based on the Fossil-expansion artwork… …and the latter on the Paldea Evolved card. ▼ Because if you're only ever going to do one thing, you'd better be expert-level at doing it. It's not all ultra-famous faces, though, as the new line features a shirt for Omanyte, depicting the Rock/Water-type as it appears in the 151 expansion. ▼ The white text makes it a little hard to read, but the shirt even includes a helpful explanation of how to create an Omanyte using the Helix Fossil. Joining the five T-shirts are four Pokémon Trading Card Game sweatshirts. The SVP Black Star Promo Snorlax one is great for those looking to match the cozy garment with a Pokémon that's as skilled at relaxing as Magikarp is at splashing. ▼ Snorlax is even doing the Lazy Press. The next one is a bit of a trivia challenge, at least when viewed from the front, which informs you that its star 'Evolves from No. 0093…' …meaning that it's Gengar. This version of Gengar, the Genetic Apex Gengar ex, actually hails from Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, a.k.a. Pokémon Pocket, the digital version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game which launched last fall. That's also the case for the the Genetic Apex Mewtwo ex-card sweatshirt. And finally, we come to another Pokémon who, like Omanyte, doesn't always get much time in the spotlight: Unown, in Silver Tempest VSTAR form. As a cool little hat tip/deck tap to card gamers, the designs all feature little Pokémon cards near the hem. The T-shirts are priced at 1,500 yen (US$10.35) and the sweatshirts at 2,990 yen, both offered in adult men's cuts. They're scheduled to go on sale in mid-August and will be available through the Uniqlo online store here.
