AC/DC can still hit the big notes

Even so, Laug, Chaney and Stevie Young were strictly background, the latter two only leaving their spots flanking the drum kit to walk mid-stage to their microphones for the occasional group chant before retreating once again. Johnson and Angus Young, on the other hand, had full reign of the stage, each with their trademark apparel: the singer playfully slumping in his workingman's cap and the guitarist duckwalking and skittering in his schoolboy uniform (albeit one a little more bespoke these days).

There were indications this many decades down the road that AC/DC was slowing down, but only indications. Angus Young's prismatic opening riff of 'Thunderstruck' was a hair sluggish – the song picked up noticeably after the pause announcing the arrival of the song's title – and the guitarist's madman stage moves were doled out in smaller, discrete chunks. And Johnson was largely garbled and incomprehensible, both during the songs and between them.

And it didn't matter. The singer was audible enough to fill his role and the guitarist was impish enough to still throw off sparks. The sound itself was resilient enough for 'Back In Black' to hit like a hammer, 'Whole Lotta Rosie' to swing like a wrecking ball and the guitars themselves to sound rude in the gleefully self-deprecating 'Shot Down In Flames.' Even the newest songs, 2020's 'Demon Fire' and 'Shot In The Dark,' did exactly what AC/DC songs need to do.
And Angus Young still played with fire. 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' was mean and nasty (in both senses of the term), and the rangy whirlwind lead of 'Riff Raff' was a good match with the headlong propulsion of the rhythm. And 'Let There Be Rock' ended the set with a 25-minute showcase for the guitarist, who burned as the band played a one-note riff behind him before bouncing short chord bursts off the back of the stadium and launching into an extended solo above the drums. The rest of the band came back for an explosive 'T.N.T.,' followed by 'For Those About To Rock (We Salute You).' That's when the cannons came out.

Dakota Johnson narrowly avoids ‘Tonight Show' wardrobe malfunction

Dakota Johnson nearly had a wardrobe malfunction during a late-night TV appearance. On Monday's episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' Johnson — who was wearing a black mini-dress with a plunging neckline — instantly regretted her decision. Advertisement 'Oh God,' said Johnson, who was promoting her new film, 'Materialists.' 'This is the wrong outfit.' 'No, no. I think it's perfect, you look great,' Fallon said. 'Just don't move.' 'My eyes are up here,' she joked. A dazed and confused Fallon playfully looked up to the ceiling and said, 'I don't know what to do. I'm confused.' Advertisement After the TV host redirected the conversation, Johnson was still concerned about the possible malfunction. 'Tell me if there's a problem,' she said. 'Right now, there's not a problem,' Fallon quipped. 'There's almost a problem, but not quite — it's just… everything is going according to plan.' 4 Dakota Johnson nearly had a wardrobe malfunction while on Monday's episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.' Kimmel inquired. 'My dress just – it just fell off,' Johnson said, astounded, but with a smile on her face. 'It seems to be hanging in all right?' Kimmel countered. 4 One year ago, the actress suffered another wardrobe malfunction while appearing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.' Coldplay's Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson call it quits after nearly 8 years

If Coldplay 's rendition of 'Fix You' sounded especially mournful during the band's recent concerts at Stanford Stadium, it may be because frontman Chris Martin has officially parted ways with actress Dakota Johnson. In what appears to be a definitive end to one of Hollywood's more quietly enduring romances, the 48-year-old Coldplay singer and the 35-year-old 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star have split after nearly eight years of an on-and-off relationship, according to People. Martin and Johnson, who began dating in 2017, were last seen together in mid-May in Malibu, where they had shared a home since 2021. Despite that recent outing, sources told People the breakup 'feels final this time.' Representatives for the pair have not commented. The couple largely kept their relationship private, though it was occasionally illuminated by moments of public affection — most memorably in 2021, when Martin gave Johnson an onstage shoutout during a London concert. 'This is about my universe, and she's here,' he said, gesturing to Johnson before launching into Coldplay's BTS collaboration, 'My Universe.' Johnson, who partially grew up in San Francisco, previously shared that the couple enjoyed being homebodies. 'We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private,' Johnson told Elle UK in 2021. 'Most of the partying takes place inside my house.' She also spoke warmly about Martin's two children, 21-year-old daughter Apple and 19-year-old son Moses, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. In March, sources confirmed to People that the couple had been secretly engaged for years. Yet despite their long-running commitment, the relationship has now ended, just as Coldplay's Music of the Spheres tour continues to fill stadiums worldwide and Johnson prepares for the release of her upcoming film, 'Materialists,' on June 13.

Don Johnson Talks Smoking Weed in the White House and Reveals How Much Money He Made Gambling with a U.S. President

During a June 4 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Don Johnson opened up about his bond with former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush The actor revealed that he has smoked weed in the White House and that he gambled with Bush Johnson has visited the White House under every president since Carter was in officeDon Johnson has had interesting friendships with several U.S. presidents, and he has done some interesting things in their presence! During a Wednesday, June 4, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 75-year-old Miami Vice alum shared that he has visited the White House under every president since the late Jimmy Carter was in office. The conversation started when host Jimmy Kimmel presented Johnson with a photo of himself with Carter, Chuck Leavell and Dickey Betts from 1975 at an Allman Brothers concert. "I don't remember that photo, but we were all stoned," Johnson said about the picture, which appeared to show Betts smoking. The actor was quick to clarify that he was not speaking about Carter, saying, "Well I don't know about him. I don't want to cast any aspersions on the former president. God rest his soul." However, Johnson clearly had a close bond with Carter. After working with the Allman Brothers on a concert during his 1976 presidential campaign, he said that they were invited to the White House. "Then the fun began," he said, prompting Kimmel to point out that "nobody has fun" at the White House. He then walked that back, saying, "I have heard Willie Nelson had fun there," referencing the fact that the country music star smoked marijuana with Carter's son on the roof of the building in the '70s. "Is that the kind of fun you had there?" he asked, clarifying, "Did you smoke at the White House?" Appearing slightly flustered, Johnson replied, "I don't know how to answer this. Well, yes ... I guess I did." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Another president that the star had a close bond with was the late George H.W. Bush. Johnson recalled representing the United States at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville with the former president, whom he described as "fantastic." "He was a great guy," Johnson gushed. Kimmel questioned if Bush was a stoner, which Johnson denied. However, he said that the president had another playful vice — gambling. "He wanted to gamble when we played golf out at Camp David. And so I took his money," he recalled to laughter and applause from the audience. "I'll tell you something else: He's a trash talker, and he ran into a buzzsaw because so am I." While he did win money from the world leader, Johnson clarified that "it wasn't that much." "Eighteen or 20 bucks," he told Kimmel, adding, "But that's the best 18 or 20 bucks you'll ever get." is now available in the Apple App Store! However, in 2020, Carter clarified that it was actually with his son James Earl 'Chip' Carter III. "When Willie Nelson wrote his autobiography, he confessed that he smoked pot in the White House one night when he was spending the night with me," the former president said in the documentary Jimmy Carter: Rock & Roll President. "And he says that his companion that shared the pot with him was one of the servants in the White House. That is not exactly true — it actually was one of my sons, which he didn't want to categorize as a pot-smoker like him." Read the original article on People
