Deion Sanders adds Marshall Faulk to Colorado staff as RB coach
Colorado is adding another Pro Football Hall of Famer to its coaching staff.
The Buffaloes announced Thursday night that former St. Louis Rams and Indianapolis Colts running back Marshall Faulk will join Deion Sanders' staff as a running backs coach. It is the first coaching job of Faulk's football career.

Faulk joins Sanders and Warren Sapp, who joined the staff last offseason, as gold jacket owners to make the trip to Boulder. The trio have also worked together as analysts at NFL Network, though Faulk's time there ended in 2017 after being named in a sexual harassment lawsuit.
Faulk remains one of the most decorated running backs in NFL history, with seven Pro Bowl nods, an MVP Award and a central role in the Greatest Show on Turf. He was enshrined in Canton in 2011. He will join a Colorado program that took a step forward in 2024, finishing the season with a 9-4 record and a No. 25 ranking in the final AP Poll.
The running backs coach position was open after the departure of Gary Harrell, who followed Sanders to Colorado after three years at Jackson State. Colorado will have work to do in 2025 after the departures of quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way standout Travis Hunter, both of whom are expected to be early picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The NFL's new CBA only allows fines to be forgiven on rookie deals, so it doesn't appear Miami will be able to waive any fines assessed to Ramsey. JALEN RAMSEY LANDING SPOTS: Rams, Raiders among best fits if Dolphins trade CB Ramsey has four years remaining on his contract with the Dolphins, as the three-year, $72.3 million extension he signed with the team on eve of the 2024 NFL season still hasn't kicked in yet. He is set to have a cap hit of just under $16.7 million this season while taking home $25.1 million in cash, per The Dolphins will be able to split any dead-cap hit – guaranteed money already paid to a player no longer on the team – associated with trading or releasing Ramsey over two seasons because the NFL's June 1 deadline has passed. Making it palatable for Miami to trade Ramsey, as it would take manageable dead-cap hits of roughly $10.75 million in 2025 and $18.5 million in 2026 while creating $5.9 million in space for the upcoming season. Releasing Ramsey would be more penal. The Dolphins would take on just under a $31 million dead-cap hit this season – which would cost them $14.3 million in present-day cap space – while still absorbing a dead-cap blow of $18.5 million next season. It isn't clear whether the Dolphins are willing to release Ramsey if they can't find a willing trade partner.
