I'm a full-time food blogger. Why my phone is the ‘brain' of our household
If someone five years ago told me I'd be an influencer, I would have never believed them. I've been cooking all my life. When I was a little girl, my grandmother would pull a chair up to the kitchen counter for me to stand on so I could see what she was doing and she would put me to work. Cooking for friends and family, experimenting with new recipes, and discovering delicious food has always been my passion. Today, I'm a one-woman show and run my business Big Delicious Life at home, most of it right in my kitchen. I shoot and edit all of my own photos and videos, actively manage my website, create content for big brand campaigns, and balance being a full time mom and homemaker. I still can't believe that this is now my business. Technology helps me balance work and family Technology is always changing, and when you depend on it as a creator to run your business, you are constantly learning new things. From work, to baby gear, to home management and entertainment, tech is at the center of everything in my life! I depend heavily on my iPhone. With it, I shoot all of my photos and videos, edit them using apps like Lightroom, InShot, and Instagram Edits, and post them to the public. But my phone is also mission control for the various apps I use to manage the household. Google Calendar helps me keep track of multiple schedules for our family. I can run our Roborock vacuum with the tap of a button to keep the floors in shape for a baby on the move. Nest cameras and Yale smart locks keep our home safe, secure, and comfortable. A Nanit Pro baby monitor lets me monitor how my little one is sleeping, and a Hatch Rest sound machine helps create her optimal sleep environment. I make sure to take care of myself too by booking different fitness classes on Classpass. I rely on a lot of tools and apps to make my life easier. Technology gives me the freedom and flexibility to run my own business, take care of my family and my home, and share my passion for food and cooking with the world. I really can have it all, and by learning your way around the technology that's available to you both at home and on the go, you can too. Solve the daily Crossword

My Favorite Comfy Travel Dress Sold Out Fast—but I'm Adding This $30 Lookalike at Amazon to My Cart Instead
There's always that one piece you end up living in on a trip—something you toss into your suitcase without much thought, wear once, and then reach for again and again. For me, on a recent week in Paris, it was a $20 ribbed maxi dress from Old Navy. I packed it at the very last minute with zero expectations, but it quickly became the most-worn thing I've bought all summer. It's incredibly comfortable (nap-on-a-plane level cozy) and deceptively versatile in that elusive, throw-it-on-and-go way. And I'm not the only one who's smitten—while the Old Navy version has completely sold out, I found a lookalike at Amazon that's equally as comfortable and stylish. I especially appreciated the lightweight construction, with just the right amount of stretch—cozy enough to rival loungewear, yet with enough structure to maintain its shape after a full day (and night). I wore it with sneakers and a white denim jacket for long walks through the Tuileries and along the Seine. At night, I'd swap in wedges, add chunky jewelry, and swipe on some lipstick, et voila: a brand-new look in almost no time. One evening, we went straight from shopping along the Champs-Élysées to dinner, then over to the Eiffel Tower to catch the sparkling lights—no time to change, but the dress rose to the occasion. What really stood out was how effortless it made getting dressed feel—no small feat in Paris, where even a quick coffee run can feel like a runway moment. This timeless frock struck the perfect balance between comfort and polish. I never had to overthink it: I'd throw it on, head out the door, and somehow always look put-together. It's one of those rare unicorn pieces that feels far more expensive than it is—and works twice as hard. I loved it so much I bought it in two colors—black and brown—though I gravitate toward the brown since it pairs with everything and feels endlessly versatile. While the Old Navy version has sold out, the Amazon lookalike comes in a spectrum of shades, from lavender to rose pink to classic white. At this price, it's hard not to resist grabbing a few more. There's one caveat: at 5-foot-3, I find maxi dresses tend to run a bit long—especially with sneakers or flats. If you're a petite traveler, it might be worth getting the hem taken up. It's a small adjustment for a dress that otherwise punches well above its wallet-friendly price tag. Shoppers call this the 'best travel dress ever,' with one saying it kept them warm on the airplane and that they 'would buy it in every color.' Another chimed in: 'I bought this for a vacation and it's going to be perfect to wear and easy to pack.' Since the trip, I've worn the dress dozens of times—at least twice a week, if not more. As a busy mom of twins, I don't have the time (or energy) to overthink outfits in the morning, but I still like to feel polished and presentable. This dress checks both boxes: it's easy, comfortable, and somehow always looks like I've put in an effort. For sleek travel dresses at equally affordable prices, shop these Amazon picks and thank me later. Whether you're headed to the office or out for dinner with friends, this collared ribbed maxi nods to preppy style with its contrast trim, lapel neckline, and pleated fishtail hem. The lightweight knit keeps things breathable, even on hot days. If you prefer a frock with sleeves, look no further than this maxi dress, which features a breezy side slit that's equal parts stylish and practical for keeping cool. The soft, stretchy fabric moves with you instead of restricting, making it an easy go-to for everything from beach vacations to urban adventures. This Wenrine pick stands out for its contrast seams, which add a graphic edge to an otherwise minimalist silhouette. The ribbed knit fabric offers just the right amount of stretch, too. For a shorter option, this ribbed midi from The Drop taps into the trend without the extra length. Its sleek silhouette—complete with a side slit for extra flair—makes it an easy pick for day-to-night dressing. Additionally, it comes in a dozen colorways and sizes ranging from XXS to 5X, making it one of the most inclusive options in terms of size and style on the list. With its square neckline and contrast trim, this ribbed maxi offers a contemporary take on the classic silhouette. The strappy, form-fitting design is versatile, making it a reliable choice for everything from weekend plans to vacation nights. Love a great deal? I'm 48 — here are 13 (incredibly flattering) dresses I want to buy from the Reitmans 40% off sale
Until Sunday, August 17 at 11:59 p.m. EST, save 40 per cent on tops and dresses at Reitmans. If you're Canadian, you might be familiar with Reitmans. The brand is known for its smart, sophisticated clothing that doesn't break the bank — but until recently, I'd never actually stepped foot in a store before. As a busy mom of two, I'm usually ordering clothes online from Amazon, but during a recent emergency trip to Walmart (where I also snapped up this stunning wicker chair — on sale!), I stumbled into a Reitmans in the same plaza — and I was blown away. I ended up trying on more than a dozen dresses, and was surprised how well they fit my 48-year-old body. For me, aging isn't just about gaining weight; it's more about weight shifting (thanks, menopause!). That stubborn mom pooch won't budge no matter what I do. But the way these dresses fit and fall made me feel like the best version of myself. Even better? They're all on sale until Sunday, August 17, and they come in a wide range of sizes from XXS to Sunday, August 17 at 11:59 p.m. EST, save 40 per cent on tops and dresses at Reitmans. Check out some of my favourite Reitmans dresses for summer 2025 (and beyond!) below. Split-Neck Shift Dress I love the playfulness of this striped dress. Its non-stretch woven fabric feels like linen, and those short flutter sleeves provide just the right amount of coverage. It's such a cute dress that you can easily pair with casual flip-flops or dressier wedge sandals, taking you from day to night in a pinch. However, one reviewer mentioned that the dress is "very see-through," so definitely keep that in mind when choosing your undergarments. $24 $60 at Reitmans Puffy-Elbow-Sleeve Dress with Split Neckline This chic shirt dress is so easy to style, and features a removable sash, so I'm also looking forward to pairing it with a thicker leather belt. The dress runs big — I'm wearing an XXS, and it was still a bit loose — so keep that in mind when deciding on sizing. $21 $75 at Reitmans Sleeveless Square-Neck Midi Dress The moment I slipped into this vintage-inspired dress, I was all set for a fun day out with the girls. The midi length is perfect, and the bodice hugs my curves for a super-flattering fit. $28 $70 at Reitmans Sleeveless V-Neck Maxi Dress This was my favourite dress of the bunch. The longer length and V-neckline fit my smaller frame so comfortably, and the high elastic waistband showcased my curves in the best way possible. Plus, I really appreciated the support from the thicker straps, making it a fantastic option for a variety of bust sizes. $38 $100 at Reitmans Cap-Sleeve Mini Dress with Square Neckline One reviewer called this dress a "summer must-have" — and I couldn't agree more. The capped sleeves and self-tie back give it such a unique style. Plus, the waistline falls a little higher, keeping it from landing right on my mom pooch. $21 $75 at Reitmans T-Shirt Dress I'm obsessed with T-shirt dresses — they're so casual, cute and comfy. I tried this on in a small, but I'd probably size down to an XS for a less oversized fit. You can cuff the sleeves for a quick coffee run or throw it on over your bathing suit for a fun day at the beach. And hey, if I'm too tired to change at the end of the day? It doubles as a cute sleep shirt. $21 $60 at Reitmans Short-Sleeve Buttoned-Down Dress with Shirt Collar This "super soft" collared button-down shirt dress is the very definition of low-maintenance style. I can wear it with sneakers, sandals or even heels! Come fall, I'd pair it with tights and cowboy boots. $42 $70 at Reitmans Sleeveless Fit-and-Flare Dress The crochet bodice of this fit-and-flare dress is a total showstopper. I also appreciated the 100 per cent cotton lining, and who doesn't love a sweetheart neckline? While I loved the look of the adjustable knit straps with buttons, I noticed the buttonholes got a bit stretched out, causing the straps to loosen. For that reason, I'd recommend sizing down to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions. $24 $80 at Reitmans Cap-Sleeve Buttoned-Down Midi Dress with Cinched Waistband This dress didn't stand out on the rack, but I was so glad I tried it on. The capped sleeves and split neckline with a shirt collar fit perfectly. Also the cinched waistband kept it from being too drapey, giving it a more tailored look. And let's talk about the button-down front. It really makes this longer dress a bit sexier. It's such a fun dress, easily taking you from work to play. $48 $80 at Reitmans Milkmaid Midi Dress with Bubble Sleeves Reitmans is really nailing it with the sweetheart necklines. The versatility of the short bubble sleeves makes it a great work or play dress, and it'll work well into fall. I also really like the zip closure in the back, which helps the dress fit more securely. It is roomy on top, so if you are small-chested like me, I would size down. $54 $90 at Reitmans Sleeveless Midi Dress This A-line maxi dress is effortlessly flattering. I also love the elastic neckline in the back, making it much easier to get on and off. The seam pockets are, of course, a major plus. I can totally see myself wearing this for a casual night out. I might even shake things up by adding a thick belt for a more tailored look. The soft viscose-nylon blend fabric is ideal for those humid nights when you don't want anything touching your skin. With its timeless style, it's no wonder 91 per cent of reviewers recommend this dress. $45 $75 at Reitmans Extended-Sleeve Shift Dress with Split Neckline The rounded hem of this flowy shift dress makes it such a fun choice, especially combined with the bold pattern. I used to shy away from patterns, but as I've gotten older, I've found them to be very forgiving. This crinkly fabric is great for travel — no ironing required! $36 $60 at Reitmans Extended-Sleeve Midi Dress with Ruched Side There's no such thing as too many little black dresses. This one, with its ruched side and sexy slits, is perfect for a day at the office, or a night on the town. The bodycon silhouette adds a playful touch to this stretch knit dress. I'm also very into the extended sleeves for those days when you want a more modest look. It's not too tight, either, so I won't feel self-conscious about it hugging my body in all the wrong places. $21 $60 at Reitmans
