The Japan Air Self-Defense Force Central Band, making its debut at this year's Tattoo at Scope Arena, played for students Tuesday at Norview Elementary School in Norfolk.
It's the first time the band has come to the United States, and judging by the students' reactions, the crowds at the Tattoo will be in for a treat, as they snapped and clapped along to the music.

The young students got the chance to hear different instruments, and one fourth grader told 10 On Your Side it's an exciting opportunity for them to come all this way and stop practicing to perform for his school.

'Some schools don't get to experience this,' said Norview Elementary 4th grader Jeremiah Batson. 'We're one of them that gets to experience it, so it is cool for me and our entire school.'

Ganga also added a Paycor Stadium element to the entire display, which was famously the site of Hamlin's cardiac arrest. Coupled with plenty of No. 3's, the tattoo managed to accomplish just about every element of the incident. Hamlin's heart stopped after making a tackle against the Cincinnati Bengals on "Monday Night Football" on Jan. 2, 2023. He briefly got up and then fell to the ground, prompting a rush of medical personnel onto the field. After providing CPR, Hamlin was loaded onto a stretcher and into an ambulance. The game was suspended and postponed. In the meantime, Hamlin spent time on a ventilator before being able to talk to his family and breathe on his own on Jan. 6. Widow has late husband's tattoo cut from his corpse, framed as a ‘cool' tribute: ‘It does so much more than a picture'
Instead of wearing her heart on her sleeve, she got her husband's sleeve framed. When Angelica Radevski lost her spouse unexpectedly earlier this year, the West Virginia nurse and mother-of-one made a bold decision that has stunned millions online — she preserved and framed a piece of his tattooed skin. Angelica, 35, and her husband TJ had been lifelong friends before marrying in 2021 and raising their 10-year-old son, Preston. In March, after TJ died suddenly at age 55, Angelica didn't want a traditional keepsake. Instead, she wanted to frame her husband's skin to show off her son's favorite tattoo. 'I knew we were going to do this because we had talked about it before,' Angelica said in a now-viral TikTok video. Of the more than 70 tatts TJ had inked over his body, they chose to preserve his Pittsburgh Steelers helmet design — complete with skull imagery and finished off in his beloved team's black and gold colors. It was his first sleeve tattoo, and a favorite of his and their son's. Preston was the one who ultimately made the final call. 'This is Dad,' he told his mother. After the funeral, Angelica used a marker to outline the exact tattoo they wanted to preserve on TJ's right arm. A mortician then carefully removed the skin, placed it in a special preservation kit provided by the Ohio-based company Save My Ink Forever, and sent it off before TJ's body was cremated. The preservation process took around 90 days. When the company returned the framed tattoo — encased in glass and set in a dark wooden frame — the moment was overwhelming. 'When he handed it to us, I was shocked,' Angelica told People. 'And it was a good shock — so many things you didn't know you were missing instantly felt better.' The tattoo still held TJ's skin texture, the fine details of his wrinkles, even stray hairs. 'This isn't a replica. You can see his hair, his wrinkles, the ink I kissed goodnight,' Angelica wrote on TikTok. Angelica and her son say the piece gives them a profound physical and emotional connection they couldn't get from an urn. Angelica has since shared her journey of loss and preservation on TikTok, where her video about the tattoo has amassed nearly 30 million views. Viewers have been divided. While many expressed admiration and support, others compared her decision to something out of a horror story — even comparing her to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. But Angelica isn't fazed. 'Just because it's not what you want, you don't have to make me feel bad about it,' she told People. 'We feel him here a lot, spiritually and energetically,' she continued. 'But this is that piece that we really, really needed. When we want to know he's here, we can hold the frame, and it does so much more than a picture.' The widow also hopes her story helps others plan for the unthinkable. Without life insurance, her family faced immense financial pressure after TJ's passing. Now, she uses her platform to advocate for open conversations about death and end-of-life wishes. 'Instead of planning for a wedding for a year, why don't we start planning and making it normal and not so ugly to talk about death,' she suggested. 'You can be prepared — both financially and with what you want for your body.'

"If I had the money, I would be covered all over"Dew, a 22-year-old Swiss woman, quickly went viral on TikTok when she shared a video of herself buying a Red Bull. But instead of scanning the can's barcode, Dew whipped out her upper forearm and scanned her tattoo instead — and sure enough, the sale went through. Now, she's opening up to PEOPLE about the tattoo's functionality and the wide range of opinions it seems to evoke. It started as a joke — Dew, whose hair is dyed purple and whose skin is already populated with tattoos, occasionally encountered rude people who dubbed her appearance as "emo" and asked if she had "barcodes," or scars on her arms. Dew wanted a funny and effective reply to those comments, and thus, she chose the Red Bull barcode. In February 2024, around the time she got the tattoo, Dew was working a retail job and often manned the checkout, she tells PEOPLE. She decided to get the tattoo close to the inside of her elbow, so she could scan it when she wanted but not have to worry about accidentally scanning it while working, she says. Contrary to popular belief, though, Red Bull isn't Dew's favorite caffeine source. "I like Red Bull a lot, [though] I do admit its not my favorite energy drink," she shares. "However, Red Bull is quite silly and I thought this tattoo is silly, so why not?" In terms of function, the bar code does work consistently, and is accepted at retail locations across Switzerland, she revealed in a TikTok following her viral video. Sometimes she has to pull or spread her skin out, but otherwise it's "pretty easily scannable," she says. Her family likes the tattoo, mostly because there's a worm that wraps around the barcode as a fun decoration. She says the worm is actually inspired by a "silly doodle" that her sister once made that she adapted to fit in with the tattoo. Her friends are supportive for the most part, while others see the choice as "a bit insane." In addition to the barcode, Dew also has a tattoo of a screaming alpaca, as well as a lemon with the inscription, "lemonade 100% lemon, 0% sugar, 0% ade, just Lemon." She also has a little "L" on her left thumb and an "R" on her right thumb, plus a Legend of Zelda design and a burning moth. "I have A LOT of tattoo plans," she shares.
