Inside, the layout is familiar. Even the base Plus model comes with leather seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry. The Ultra adds heated and ventilated seats for both front occupants, memory settings for the driver, and some small upgrades like an air purifier and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The tech offering is strong across the range. Both models get a pair of 12.3-inch screens, one for the gauges and the other for infotainment. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, and there's a voice command system that responds to 'Hello Chery'. There's even a wireless charging pad. The Ultra trim swaps in a better sound system from Sony and adds ambient lighting.
Design-wise, it's business as usual. The Chery Tiggo 7 CSH keeps the bold look of the standard Tiggo 7, complete with LED lights and 18-inch wheels. The top-spec Ultra adds a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate and some extra chrome bits to help it stand out. You also get two-tone paint options if you want something a bit flashier.

Chery's new plug-in hybrid Tiggo 7 CSH promises over 1 200km of range
Chery South Africa recently hit the road to showcase the fuel efficiency and real-world driving range of its Tiggo 7 CSH (Chery Super Hybrid) plug-in hybrid. According to The Citizen, the result was impressive: 1 290km before requiring a stop for fuel and a charge of the battery. 'These results reinforce our belief that hybrid technology can deliver more than just efficiency; it can redefine what South Africans expect from family vehicles,' said Verene Petersen, the national brand and marketing manager at Chery South Africa. 'With the new Tiggo CSH range, we're offering drivers a smart, capable, and highly adaptable solution that meets the realities of modern mobility, whether you're commuting in the city or crossing provinces.' Chery Tiggo 7 CSH packs a punch At the heart of the Chery Tiggo 7 CSH's powertrain is a highly efficient 1.5TGDI dedicated hybrid turbo petrol engine that delivers 115kW of maximum power and 220Nm of peak torque on its own. An 18.3kWh battery pack powers a dual electric motor system that adds a further 150kW and 310Nm to the equation. This mix is driven down to the front wheel through a single speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission for a combined output of up to 265kW and 530Nm of torque. This translates into strong real-world performance that you can feel when driving the medium-sized SUV, whether you are accelerating from a standstill at traffic lights or overtaking at highway speeds. The system ensures instant power on demand, always keeping you one step ahead. For urban commuting, the hybrid battery offers over 90km of pure electric range, which is sufficient for most daily driving needs. Charge in a jiffy When it's time to recharge, the DC fast-charging capability recharges the battery from 30 to 80% in around 19 minutes — about the time needed for a coffee break. Even in charge-depleting mode, fuel consumption drops to as low as 4.9L/100km, significantly reducing the overall cost of ownership for customers. The range of over 1 200km from the 60-litre fuel tank eliminates range anxiety on long-distance trips, while reducing the need for frequent refuelling – making every journey more convenient and worry-free. Catering to the growing popularity of outdoor lifestyles, the Tiggo 7 CSH boasts a 3.3kW vehicle-to-load capability. This effectively eliminates the need for additional portable power stations on a weekend away. With most household appliances operating below 2.5kW, intelligent power management keeps your devices powered on the go, letting you stay connected if that's what you want.

Chery completes CSH roll-out with Tiggo 8 plug-in hybrid
Chery has officially completed the roll-out of its Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) models in South Africa with the arrival of the Tiggo 8 CSH. Not the flagship The Citizen reports that joining the Tiggo 7 Pro Max and Tiggo 7 Pro, the Tiggo 8 CSH adopts the same plug-in hybrid configuration as the latter, but is restricted to a single, unbadged derivative which, surprisingly, isn't the local line-up's new flagship. Positioned between the two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Tiggo 8 Pro Max, the Tiggo 8 CSH doesn't adopt the 'Pro' suffix and as such, will be marketed as the Tiggo 8 CSH as opposed to the Hybrid-e description used at its official preview launch in China two years ago. Changes inside and out Similar to the newly facelifted Tiggo 7, which takes leave of the 'Pro' and 'Pro Max' names, the Tiggo 8 CSH differs aesthetically from the combustion models by featuring a new grille with black surrounds, a restyled front bumper, standard Auto High Beam Assist LED headlights and new 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the differences continue in the shape of the same centre console as sister brand Jaecoo's J7, complete with a pair of wireless smartphone chargers, a rotary drive mode selector and two cupholders. With the gear lever moving to the steering column, Chery has also redesigned the Tiggo 8 CSH's dashboard by eschewing the dual 12.3-inch displays for a freestanding instrument cluster of the same size, plus a new 15.6-inch infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The latter's inclusion has seen the central air vents move to the centre console, while the previous toggle switches and physical buttons on the steering wheel make way for touch-sensitive switchgear. Space and tech As with the rest of the Tiggo 8 range, the CSH keeps the seven-seat layout, with boot space ranging from 117-litres to 494-litres. Dropping the middle row results in space maxing out at 1 930-litres. On the specification front, the Tiggo 8 CSH, bar the items mentioned, comes equipped with the following as standard: three type-C USB ports a 12-speaker Sony sound system dual-zone climate control ambient lighting ventilated, heated, electric and massaging front seats imitation leather upholstery a panoramic sunroof an electric tailgate Head-Up Display The extensive array of safety and driver assistance systems includes: a 540-degree camera system 10 airbags front and rear parking sensors Driver Monitoring System Adaptive Cruise Control Hill Start Assist Rear Cross Traffic Alert Traffic Jam Assist Lane Departure Warning Front Collision Warning Blind Spot Monitoring Door Opening Warning Automatic Emergency Braking Plug-in hybrid punch On the power front, the Tiggo 8 CSH carries over the same powerplant as the Jaecoo J7 SHS, namely the brand's 1.5 T-GDI engine combined with an 18.3kWh battery pack powering a single electric motor. The result is a total system output of 255kW/525Nm, an electric-only range of 90km, and a combined overall distance of 1 200km. The claimed fuel consumption is 5.2L/100km. Sending the amount of twist to the front axle is a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). In addition, three driving modes are offered: Eco, Normal and Sport. Warranty Now available, the Tiggo 8 CSH's sticker price includes: a seven-year/200 000km warranty a seven-year/90 000km service plan a 10-year/1 000 000km engine warranty transferred to the second owner only via the first owner having made the original purchase through the Cherished pre-owned dealer network a 10-year/unlimited km battery warranty Price Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6 T-GDI Executive+ DCT – R529 900 Tiggo 8 Pro Max 2.0 T-GDI Executive DCT – R669 900 Tiggo 8 CSH – R729 900 Tiggo 8 Pro Max 2.0 T-GDI Executive AWD DCT – R731 900
