One more round of storms to go
After weeks of relentless rain and storms, many are understandably ready for a break. Thankfully, just one more round of active weather stands between us and a stretch of quiet, sunny days.
With moisture still trapped in the soil, patchy fog may develop early Sunday morning. However, skies will quickly clear, giving way to sunshine and temperatures rising into the 80s, accompanied by a light westerly breeze.
Later in the afternoon and into the early evening, a cold front will move through the Ozarks, triggering another round of thunderstorms. These storms may bring large hail, damaging winds, and heavy downpours.
Once this final wave of storms passes, a welcome stretch of dry, sunny weather is expected. Highs in the 80s and mostly sunny skies are forecast for Monday through Wednesday.
For farmers looking to cut and bale hay, this could be the window you've been waiting for. That said, a few showers may return late Thursday, with additional rain chances possible to close out the week.

Seattle weather: Record Heat Headed for Western Washington
Seattle - Record heat is forecast around Western Washington on Sunday. We will see a moderate risk of heat-related illness. If you are spending time outdoors, please remember to take breaks and stay hydrated. Many will head to our area waterways for relief. Just make sure you enjoy yourself safely as the water is still quite chilly. Morning lows will be mild to start the day in the upper 50s and low 60s. Afternoon highs will warm well into the 90s. Our homes hang onto the heat much longer than the outside air. This sweltering weather could make sleeping difficult for those without air conditioning. The Brief A weak cold front is expected to bring light showers and possible thunderstorms to Chicago late Saturday into early Sunday. Despite the chance for rain, much of the weekend will remain dry with hazy skies from wildfire smoke. Warmer, sunnier weather is expected midweek, with temperatures climbing into the mid-80s by Wednesday and Thursday. CHICAGO - After a pleasant Saturday, some late-night showers are expected to move through the Chicago area, though the weekend will not be a total washout. What we know A weakening line of showers tied to an advancing cold front is expected to pass over the region late Saturday into early Sunday morning. There's also a slight chance of thunder and gusty winds, though the system is losing strength as it approaches the city. Hazy skies caused by smoke from wildfires in Canada may obscure some sunshine early Sunday, but it is expected to be a partly sunny start to the day. More clouds are expected to roll in by the afternoon, bringing a 55 percent chance of late-day showers or thunderstorms. Sunday's high will reach around 78 degrees, with overnight lows near 58 degrees. Rain may linger into Monday morning, but the chance of precipitation drops to 40 percent.
