But for many of us, the thought of nosy neighbours peeking into our outside space can leave us filled with anxiety, and unable to properly relax.
Putting up a large fence around your garden may seem like the obvious choice to keep away prying eyes, but this can be expensive - and can sometimes lead to disagreements with neighbours.
For a simple solution, B&Qs Natural Reed Garden Screen can keep your garden out of view of snoopers, for just £16.
The stylish screen can be easily affixed to an existing fence or balcony, and can be cut to exact size.
It is available in stores and for home delivery, and you can pick up a pack of 100 Klikstrom Plastic Garden screen links to help you tie it in place for just £6.
A description reads: "This Klikstrom natural screening is perfect for adding both privacy and a contemporary style to your outdoor spaces.
"Crafted from durable material, this product is self supporting and weather resistant."
Shoppers have been raving about the bargain buy on the B&Q wesite.
One person said: " We bought this product for more privacy in our residence and the result is superb!
"Perfect quality/price!"
I made a DIY fence for £68 with pallets from Facebook Marketplace - it gives more privacy & people say it's 'fantastic'
A second person said: "Nice, strong and wind proof."
A third person said: "Very easy to install."
B&Q's Lifelike Grape Leaf Foldable Artificial Green Wall is another penny-pincher friendly buy perfect for keeping your garden secluded.
The stylish screen comes in a realistic leaf design, perfect for blending in to your greenery.
How high can a garden fence be?
Despite what many people think a garden fence can be as high as 100m but you need to get planning permission for any fence taller than 2m.
Any fence under 2m does not need planning permission.
However, there are some complications to this.
If you are thinking about front garden fences, restrictions state that fences alongside a driveway can be a maximum of 1m or 3ft.
You would need to get planning permission for putting a trellis on a fence of 2m.
But, if any plant that you grow on that trellis exceeds 2m, you do not need to obtain a permit for the growing plant.
Plus, the product has been made with premium wood and weather resistant plastic, making it extra durable - so you don't have to worry about it coming down in windy or rainy conditions.
A product description reads: "Bring refreshing greenery to your outdoor décor with this artificial hedge panel.
"Designed for versatility, it works as a fence screen, wall décor, or garden hedge.
"Its durable construction offers UV protection, while the breathable design ensures proper airflow.
"Perfect for balconies, patios, or terraces, it combines beauty and practicality without the need for ongoing maintenance."
However, the privacy screen is only available online, so you will have to order it via the B&Q website instead of heading to your local store if you are keen to snap up the bargain.

6 plants to put in borders or pots now & give your garden a late-summer glow-up with flowers & fragrance until October

The flowers are gorgeous and will make your home the envy of all PETAL POWER 6 plants to put in borders or pots now & give your garden a late-summer glow-up with flowers & fragrance until October AUGUST is the perfect time to breathe some new life and beauty into your garden. Now that we're sadly in the final few weeks of summer, many think it's time to stop worrying about glamming up the garden, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Here are some stunning additions you can put into your garden now to ensure beauty all through autumn. Calendula (Pot Marigold) 6 Calendula flowers can also be used as a natural aromatherapy Credit: Getty A hardy choice with a seed that's quick to flower and often blooms into October. They are bright, easy to manage, and are perfect for a day of gardening with your little ones thanks to the large seeds. These can be sown directly into planters and tend to germinate quickly. You should plant these at least eight weeks before the first autumn frost for the best results. Pot marigolds are known to grow quickly and are not fussy about the soil. They also have the potential to flower until autumn if the weather stays mild. These flowers also attract pollinators and they even have petals that are edible. Sweet Alyssum 6 Lobularia maritima 'Carpet of Snow' is an annual plant with a white summertime flower commonly known as sweet alyssum Credit: Getty Another robust flower that blooms quickly and has a gorgeous scent, it's also known as "carpet of snow" because of how the white blooms amass in a garden. There are also pink and purple varieties of the Sweet Alyssum, if you want a bit more colour. It is sturdy enough to grown anywhere, and it is best to sow its seed directly where you want the flower to grow, according to Gardeners World. Be sure to plant it in well-drained soil and full sun or light shade. Nasturtium 6 A nasturtium can brighten up any area Credit: Getty Nasturtium plants produce bright orange, red or yellow flowers - perfect for a colourful garden. This flower grows quickly and thrives in cooler weather. Gardeners' World said: "They're also a magnet for bees and are great for growing amongst your veg – they'll lure white butterflies away from cabbages and aphids away from beans." Autumn Crocus 6 Beautiful autumn crocuses on a sunny day Credit: Getty These flowers are also known as also known as Colchicom - or 'naked ladies' because they come up without any leaves. If you plant it now, the Autumn Crocus will begin to flower from September. This flower is perfect to help transition out of summer and give your garden an autumnal feel. August is the perfect month to plant as it gives them time to settle in and develop a decent root structure before flowering. They look great in naturalised in grass - especially under trees. Guernsey Lily 6 The Nerine Bowdenii is also known as the Guernsey or Bowden Lily Credit: Getty These bright, pink flowers will start to blossom from late September and early October. They're often known as Jewel Lillies for the gold or silver flecks on their petals make them shimmer in sunlight. It is best to plant these when the temperature starts to drop, according to The English Garden. They should be planted in a moderately fertile, well-drained soil, but need to be protected in much colder temperatures, especially frost, per the RHS. Autumn daffodil 6 Sternbergia lutea yellow flower Credit: Getty A gorgeous yellow flower, which is very quick and easy to plant, and suits all kinds of gardens. "It's ideal for growing en masse to form carpets of flowers when little else is in bloom," per Gardeners' World. After planting the bulbs, well water well to settle the soil. Bulbs and plants in the ground shouldn't need additional watering, except in long dry spells during the growing season.
