An Etihad Airways flight from New Delhi, India to Abu Dhabi was diverted to Muscat due to a medical emergency, the airline said on Sunday, June 1.
The UAE's flagship carrier said that a passenger on board required immediate medical attention and the flight EY213 from Indira Gandhi International Airport to Zayed International Airport was diverted to the Omani capital.
'We apologise for the disruption to the flight and our teams are doing their best to help you on your journey,' the airline said in a statement.Etihad Airways stressed that the safety and comfort of passengers and crew remains the airline's top priority, and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the diversion.

Air Seychelles launches new Abu Dhabi service

Abu Dhabi Airports has announced the launch of Air Seychelles' new passenger flight service connecting Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) to Zayed International Airport (AUH). The new route, which operates six times a week, strengthens connectivity between the UAE's capital and the stunning Seychelles, providing travellers with more opportunities to explore the islands and enjoy seamless travel. As part of a codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways, Air Seychelles passengers will enjoy seamless connections to Etihad's global network, opening up travel options to destinations across Europe, Asia, and beyond. Additionally, travellers can connect onwards to Mauritius three days a week, or domestically within Seychelles to Praslin, the second largest island, further expanding the reach of the Seychelles as a key tourism hub. Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: 'This new flight service not only bolsters Abu Dhabi's position as a global aviation hub, but also strengthens the ties between the UAE and Seychelles. The launch offers increased accessibility for both UAE residents and international visitors, opening the door for them to experience the unparalleled beauty, culture, and hospitality of the Seychelles.' Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launches seasonal flights to Giza

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital's first low-cost carrier, has launched new seasonal flights between Abu Dhabi and Giza in Egypt. The new route, which will operate during the summer, reflects the airline's commitment to offering convenient and affordable travel options for customers to travel between the two countries during this peak season, the airline said. The new service will commence on June 26, 2025, and continue through September 11, 2025, between Zayed International Airport and Sphinx International Airport with a frequency of three flights per week. 'The launch of our new seasonal non-stop service between the UAE and Egypt reflects our continued focus on expanding connectivity to cater to the growing travel demand during the summer period,' said Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia. 'This route supports our broader strategy of offering greater convenience and reliable travel options across key regional markets. We remain committed to unlocking new opportunities that enhance the customer experience while delivering affordable and value-driven air travel.'
