Al Shaqab Showjumping League Round Two: Haidan tops champions' 130cm class; Faraa takes team title

Hussain Saeed Haidan clinched the Al Shaqab Champions (130cm) CSI1* class while Faraa Team stood out as best in the second round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League which concluded at the Longines Indoor Arena of Al Shaqab on Saturday.
Haidan, riding D Saucedo, topped the One round against the clock event returning the best flawless routine in 65.44secs. Saad Ahmed Al Saad on Fashion des Douits was second (66.58secs) while Thorsten Wittenberg on Casallino 12 finished third (69.85secs).
Mohammad Jaber Al Khayarin, Manager of the Equine Education Department at Al Shaqab, awarded the podium winners.
In the team competition, Faraa team comprising Khaled Al Hadi, Tamim bin Joaan HK Al Thani, Hayfa Hamad Al Thani, Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei and Mohammed Saeed Al Muhannadi claimed the top podium place followed by the Harity and Afreen Team. Hamza Al Kuwari, Corporate Services Director at Al Shaqab honoured the riders with their prizes.
The Junior Champions - Special Two Phases (115cm) class title was bagged by Amer Hamad Al Mansoori, who astride Honolulu Brl clocked clear 27.70 and 34.59secs. Mohammed Faisal Al Marri on Haines was second (29.71 & 38.74secs), and Ahmad Jassim Al Suwaidi, riding Mona Lansia M, third (30.1 & 44.42secs). Hamza Al Kuwari, Corporate Services Director at Al Shaqab awarded the riders of the Junior Champions Class.
Mohammed Faisal Al Marri continued to excel in the Amateur - Special Two Phases (90cm) class taking the top spot. Abdulla Saleh Al Obaidly was second and Alia Raed Alfaddah was third. Mohammed Saeed Al Muhannadi, Abdulaziz Hamad Al Kaabi and Al Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani completed the top six podium places. Khalid Al Jehani, Breeding and Show Manager at Al Shaqab, honoured the winners with their prizes.
The Introductory Class - Optimum Time (60cm) saw Abdulaziz Nayef Al Hajri, Tamim Fahad Al Marri, Ibrahim Ahmad Al Hammadi, Saoud Abdulla Al Muhannadi, Alya Ahmad Al Khater and Abdulaziz Ahmad Al Jehani take the top six spots. Lahdan Al Boainain, Equestrian Institute Specialist at Al Shaqab awarded the riders.
The next two Al Shaqab League rounds are scheduled for May 23–24, and May 30–31.

Haidan wins overall Al Shaqab Champions title
Tribune News Network Doha Mohammed Saeed Haidan clinched the overall Al Shaqab Champions (130–140cm) title as the Al Shaqab National Show Jumping League concluded in thrilling fashion on Saturday. Riding Viahipi d'Auzay, Haidan secured second place in the third and final round, but it boosted his total to 105 points to claim top honours at Al Shaqab's Longines Indoor Arena. Thorsten Wittenberg finished second overall after placing third in the final round aboard Casallino 12. Khaled Aleid, who won the concluding round on Q Sahel, secured third place overall with a total of 94 points. In the Youth Champions (125–135cm) category, Abdulaziz Fahad Aleid claimed the overall title with 101 points. Khalid Al Hadi followed with 95 points, while Saad Ahmed Al Saad finished third with 91 points. Meanwhile, Haya Khalid Al Hitmi was crowned Junior Champion (115–125cm), earning 97 points to edge out Ibrahim Khalid Al Kuwari by just two points. Fahad Jassim Al Thani secured third place with 93 points. Al Kuwari, riding Just In Time, won the final round yesterday. Haya, aboard Murdoc, finished second, while Al Thani claimed third place on Hazel de Luxe. In the Amateur Class (90–100cm), Mohammed Salem Al Naemi topped the standings with 77 points to be named overall champion. Joud Bassam El Aker (74 points) and Ali Abdulla Al Muhannadi (70 points) rounded out the podium. Mohammed Faisal Al Marri emerged as the Future Champions (105–115cm) winner, amassing 98 points. Ahmed Ali Jaber took second place with 87 points, while Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani placed third with 86 points. In the team competition, Al Adeed secured top spot in the league standings, followed by Farhoud and Faraa. Earlier, in the first event of the final day, Nasser Hamad Al Thani riding Coco Chanel SB delivered a flawless performance to win the Introductory Class 2 (60cm) with a time of 60.92 seconds. Salha Khalid Obaidli aboard Tinkerbell closely followed, finishing second in 61.12 seconds, while Meshael Mohammed Al Thani on Lancome Paris secured third place. Alanoud Rashid Al Shahwani (Moreade Fee B), Asmaa Ahmad Al Sulaiti (Tinkerbell), and Fahad Mohammed Al Sulaiti (Chapuisat) completed the top six.

Khalid Al Suwaidi tops Future Champions' class
Tribune News Network Doha Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi delivered a flawless performance aboard Isis du Genet to win the Future Champions 105/110cm class, stealing the spotlight on the opening day of the third and final round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League on Thursday. Competing at Al Shaqab's Longines Indoor Arena, Al Suwaidi impressed in the jump-off, clocking 26.36 seconds to secure first place. Mohammed Hamza Al Kuwari, riding Carte Blanche, followed with a time of 29.17 seconds to take second. Al Shaqab League Event Director Khalid Al Nuami honoured the podium winners. Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani, on Monopoly, posted a competitive 26.53 seconds in the jump-off to claim third place. Faisal Mohammed Al Naimi (riding Dilandra), Mohammed Faisal Al Marri (Dusty), and Yousuf Abdulrahman Al Muftah (Senna Lafont) rounded out the top six in the event. Meanwhile, Alya Hamad Jassim Al Thani partnered with Geale to claim victory in the Intro 80cm class, delivering a flawless round in 53.02 seconds. Just behind her, Melina Karagiannidi and Cascade Sammy secured second place with a near-identical time of 53.04 seconds. Adel Abdel Raziq completed the podium after an impressive ride on Phoenix. Raziq was followed by Salman Faisal Al Marri, Maryam Ahmed Mohamood Erbad and Jassim Saoud Al Fakhroo, rounding out the top six. Al Shaqab League Manager Khalid Al Nuami presented the awards to the leading riders. Earlier in the day, Tamim Misfer Alqahtani, riding Carnelian, triumphed in the Intro 40cm class with a clean round in 48.77 seconds. Aisha Sultan Al Enazi, aboard Tinkerbell, took second with a time of 49.97 seconds, while Maryam Abdulazeem Al Abdulwahab on Pedro finished third. Mohammed Ahmad Al Sulaiti, Ameena Hassan Al Thawadi, and Noora Yousif Al Kuwari completed the top six standings. 3x3 Youth Nations League: Qatar runners-up in second stage
Tribune News Network Doha The Qatar national basketball team put up a strong showing in the second stage of the 3x3 U23 Basketball Nations League - Asia-Pacific, organized by the Qatar Basketball Association and being heldfrom May 28 to June 3, with the participation of elite international teams in both the men's and women's categories. Twelve teams are participating in the tournament, including six men's and six women's teams: Qatar (host), New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Chinese Taipei. On Thursday, Qatar began their second-round campaign with a 21-19 victory over the Philippines and a 21-6 victory over Indonesia in Group A. Meanwhile, New Zealand defeated Chinese Taipei 21-10 and Singapore 21-11 in Group B, advanced to the second-round final. Qatar narrowly lost to New Zealand 16-17. The Qatari team thus collected 160 points, while New Zealand reached 200 points, having defeated Qatar 12-21 in the first round. The Qatari men's team consists of Hamad Yassin Ismail Musa, Zainuddin Badri, Nizar Mahmoud, Ahmed Saeed Mohammed, and Mubarak Jama. Professor Mohammed Najeeb, Elite Motors Sales Manager, crowned the New Zealand team as the champions of the second round. In the women's competition, Philippines took the first place defeating Chinese Taipei in the final 20-13. The winner collected 200 points, while the loser collected 160 points. Ahmed Youssef Mohammed Mubarak Al-Darwish, Assistant Secretary of the Qatar Basketball Association, crowned Philippines national team as champions of the second round. The Qatar women's national team in the second round, lost to the Philippines, 21-4, and to Singapore, 21-6, in Group A matches. The Qatari women's team consists of: Salha Ismail, Mona Abdel Moneim, Sama Jasser, and Lamees Jamal. The third-round matches of the FIBA U23 3x3 Nations League - Asia-Pacific will be held on Friday. The tournament is part of the promotional activities accompanying Qatar's hosting of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, as part of the Qatar Basketball Association's commitment to intensifying quality events and enhancing the global presence of basketball in Qatar. The tournament is being held in cooperation with and under the supervision of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The current edition serves as a qualifying round for the FIBA U23 3x3 Basketball World Cup, with the men's and women's champions and the top scorers qualifying for the tournament, which will be held in Xiong'an, China, from September 17 to 21. The Nations League was launched in 2017 as a development program for men and women under 23 to hone their skills in preparation for the open category.
