Khalid Al Suwaidi tops Future Champions' class

Tribune News Network Doha Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi delivered a flawless performance aboard Isis du Genet to win the Future Champions 105/110cm class, stealing the spotlight on the opening day of the third and final round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League on Thursday. Competing at Al Shaqab's Longines Indoor Arena, Al Suwaidi impressed in the jump-off, clocking 26.36 seconds to secure first place. Mohammed Hamza Al Kuwari, riding Carte Blanche, followed with a time of 29.17 seconds to take second. Al Shaqab League Event Director Khalid Al Nuami honoured the podium winners. Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani, on Monopoly, posted a competitive 26.53 seconds in the jump-off to claim third place. Faisal Mohammed Al Naimi (riding Dilandra), Mohammed Faisal Al Marri (Dusty), and Yousuf Abdulrahman Al Muftah (Senna Lafont) rounded out the top six in the event. Meanwhile, Alya Hamad Jassim Al Thani partnered with Geale to claim victory in the Intro 80cm class, delivering a flawless round in 53.02 seconds. Just behind her, Melina Karagiannidi and Cascade Sammy secured second place with a near-identical time of 53.04 seconds. Adel Abdel Raziq completed the podium after an impressive ride on Phoenix. Raziq was followed by Salman Faisal Al Marri, Maryam Ahmed Mohamood Erbad and Jassim Saoud Al Fakhroo, rounding out the top six. Al Shaqab League Manager Khalid Al Nuami presented the awards to the leading riders. Earlier in the day, Tamim Misfer Alqahtani, riding Carnelian, triumphed in the Intro 40cm class with a clean round in 48.77 seconds. Aisha Sultan Al Enazi, aboard Tinkerbell, took second with a time of 49.97 seconds, while Maryam Abdulazeem Al Abdulwahab on Pedro finished third. Mohammed Ahmad Al Sulaiti, Ameena Hassan Al Thawadi, and Noora Yousif Al Kuwari completed the top six standings. Legacy and Heritage Specialist Commercial at Al Shaqab Ahmed Khaled Al Hemaidi honoured the riders during the prize ceremony. Tribune News Network Doha Hussain Saeed Haidan clinched his second successive Al Shaqab Champions (130cm) CSI1* class title with a commanding performance in the penultimate round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League, which concluded at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab on Saturday. Hussain stole the spotlight aboard D Saucedo, delivering a flawless round in 48.73 seconds to top the leaderboard and claim the lion's share of the QR70,000 prize pool, taking home QR17,500. Finishing second was Bader Alfard on Pepper Van 'T Winnenhof, who also posted a clear round and clocked 50.79 seconds. Mohammed Saeed Haidan rounded out the podium with a solid ride on Viahipi d'Auzay in 51.03 seconds. Meanwhile, Haya Khalid Al Hitmi delivered a composed and confident performance to win the Junior Champions 115cm class. Riding the 12-year-old KWPN mare Hustique, Al Hitmi produced two faultless rounds, clocking 29.25 seconds in the first and 30.45 seconds in the second to top the class and take home QR8,750. Hot on her heels was Abdulla Khalid Al Julandani, who also went double clear on Irschi. He finished second with times of 28.96 and 30.63 seconds, earning QR7,000. In third place was Ibrahim Khalid Al Kuwari on Flexy Bel Z, as the pair posted clear rounds in 29.34 and 31.38 seconds, securing QR5,250 for their effort. In the team competition, Al Adeed claimed the top podium place followed by the Kahil Team and Gazal Team. Abdulaziz Hamad Al Kaabi emerged victorious in the Amateur Class (90cm). Partnering the experienced mare Vahine de Curaine, Al Kaabi clocked 28.80 and 21.70 seconds to emerge victorious. Mohammed Faisal Al Marri and Dusty also posted a double clear rounds in 28.20 and 21.74 seconds to finish second. Yousuf Abdulrahman Al Muftah rounded off the top three aboard Kroaat Van Orchid in 27.26 and 21.83 seconds. The Introductory 60cm class was won by Mansour Salem Al Naemi, ahead of Rita Jabbour and Ahmad Fahad Al Thani. Rounding out top six were Salha Khalid Al Obaidli, Khalid Saoud Al Khater and Nawar Talal Al Otaibi.

DOHA: The penultimate round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League got underway on Friday at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab, showcasing spirited display of skill and precision from riders across various categories. The highlight of the day came in the Young Champions category (125 cm), where Saif Mohammed Al Naimi triumphed on Hero. Abdulaziz Fahad Al Eid, riding Kayenne Of de Rocky Mounten secured second place, while Yaqoub Nasser Almas took third on Aphrodite S Z. Mohammed Hamza Al Kuwari, Director of Corporate Services at Al Shaqab, presented the awards. In the Future Champions class (105 cm), Mohammed Faisal Al Marri took the top spot astride Haines, followed by Sherida Nasser Al Kaabi on Doremi du Flot Z, and Yousef Abdul Rahman Al Muftah on Senna Lafont. The winners were honoured by tournament director Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi. The 80 cm competition saw rider Melina Karagiannidi take top honours with Geale. Alreem Hamza Al Kuwari rode Janne to second place, and Sheikha Mohammed Al Thani claimed third with Cascade Sammy. Other strong performances came from Salman Faisal Al Marri, Mohammed Abdullah Al Marri, and Aisha Jassim Al Sorour. Winners in this round were crowned by Ahmed Khaled Al Humaidi, Heritage Specialist at Al Shaqab. In the 40 cm preliminary round, Abdulrahman Hamad Al Attiyah claimed first place aboard Pedro, a 2003-born mare owned by Al Shaqab. Al Attiyah completed the course without faults in a time of 36.26 seconds. Aisha Sultan Al Enazi, also representing Al Shaqab, secured second place with Tinkerbell, a 2009 mare, finishing just behind at 36.32 seconds. Fahad Abdullah Al Sulaiti took third place on Lilly in 36.45 seconds, also with a clear round. Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi, the tournament director, crowned the winning riders. The championship is conducted in line with the regulations of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), with some modifications in the preliminary rounds. A cumulative points system is used to determine the overall winners at the season's conclusion, adding an extra layer of competitive intensity. The Al Shaqab League, a cornerstone of Qatar's equestrian calendar, serves as a vital platform for discovering and nurturing local talent. In alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, the league supports excellence and innovation in equestrian sport. By fostering inclusivity and offering opportunities for riders from Al Shaqab Equestrian Academy and other institutions, the League reinforces Al Shaqab's mission to empower the next generation of Qatari riders. Tribune News Network Doha Hussain Saeed Haidan clinched the Al Shaqab Champions (130cm) CSI1* class while Faraa Team stood out as best in the second round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League which concluded at the Longines Indoor Arena of Al Shaqab on Saturday. Haidan, riding D Saucedo, topped the One round against the clock event returning the best flawless routine in 65.44secs. Saad Ahmed Al Saad on Fashion des Douits was second (66.58secs) while Thorsten Wittenberg on Casallino 12 finished third (69.85secs). Mohammad Jaber Al Khayarin, Manager of the Equine Education Department at Al Shaqab, awarded the podium winners. In the team competition, Faraa team comprising Khaled Al Hadi, Tamim bin Joaan HK Al Thani, Hayfa Hamad Al Thani, Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei and Mohammed Saeed Al Muhannadi claimed the top podium place followed by the Harity and Afreen Team. Hamza Al Kuwari, Corporate Services Director at Al Shaqab honoured the riders with their prizes. The Junior Champions - Special Two Phases (115cm) class title was bagged by Amer Hamad Al Mansoori, who astride Honolulu Brl clocked clear 27.70 and 34.59secs. Mohammed Faisal Al Marri on Haines was second (29.71 & 38.74secs), and Ahmad Jassim Al Suwaidi, riding Mona Lansia M, third (30.1 & 44.42secs). Hamza Al Kuwari, Corporate Services Director at Al Shaqab awarded the riders of the Junior Champions Class. Mohammed Faisal Al Marri continued to excel in the Amateur - Special Two Phases (90cm) class taking the top spot. Abdulla Saleh Al Obaidly was second and Alia Raed Alfaddah was third. Mohammed Saeed Al Muhannadi, Abdulaziz Hamad Al Kaabi and Al Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani completed the top six podium places. Khalid Al Jehani, Breeding and Show Manager at Al Shaqab, honoured the winners with their prizes. The Introductory Class - Optimum Time (60cm) saw Abdulaziz Nayef Al Hajri, Tamim Fahad Al Marri, Ibrahim Ahmad Al Hammadi, Saoud Abdulla Al Muhannadi, Alya Ahmad Al Khater and Abdulaziz Ahmad Al Jehani take the top six spots. Lahdan Al Boainain, Equestrian Institute Specialist at Al Shaqab awarded the riders. The next two Al Shaqab League rounds are scheduled for May 23–24, and May 30–31. Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, Al Shaqab continues its pioneering role in advancing sports and promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in equestrianism through its national showjumping league.

DOHA: Mohammed Faisal Al Marri continued his fine form as the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League returned to action with the second round at the Longines Indoor Arena of Al Shaqab on Friday. On the opening day of the two-day leg, young riders impressed with their horse riding skills and Al Marri topped the Future Champions - Table A, Special Two Phases (105cm) class riding brown mare Dusty with aplomb returning flawless routines with best times of 27.38 and 31.60secs. Finishing a close second on the podium was Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi astride dark bay mare Khaleesi in 29.84 and 31.97secs respectively. Khalifa bin Joaan Al Thani took the third podium place finishing in 28.24 and 32.25secs respectively on his mount Zion II Vdk, a dark bay gelding. Ahmed Khaled Al Humaidi, Heritage Specialist at Al Shaqab, honoured the winners. Earlier, the Introductory Class - Optimum Time (80cm) event was claimed by Hassan Ali Al Marhoon, who with bay gelding Animo's Boy van de Dennehoeve clocked 55.89secs. Hissa Ali Al Jaber on grey mare Guedzanotte du Preau was second (55.79secs) while Alnajla Abdulla Al Khulaifi on Geale was third (55.74secs). Noora Faisal Al Nasr, Alghala Turky Al Subaey and Moza Hamza Al Kuwari were the other three among the top six. The opening Introductory Class 1 - Optimum Time (40cm) event was won by Mohammed Fahad Al Kuwari, riding Evidence Du and clocking 36.85secs. Mohammed Ahmad Al Sulaiti on Currabawn Shadow was second (37.91secs), and Jassim Ali Darwish on Vegas De Ray third (38.54secs). Kyra Hopewood, Noora Yousif Al Kuwari and Tamim Misfer Al Qahtani were the other three in the top six. Hamza Mohammed Al Kuwari, Director of Corporate Services at Al Shaqab, crowned the winners. The Director of Al Shaqab League, Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi praised the impressive show of both male and female riders. "We are witnessing significant development in their performances from one round to the next. It reflects the tournament's objectives in providing a professional competitive environment that meets international standards.' He added: "The Al Shaqab League represents a real opportunity for riders to hone their skills and compete at the highest levels. The positive results achieved have contributed to the qualification of a large number of riders to FEI's Group 7 finals. This is an achievement we are proud of and reflects the success of our strategy to support and develop equestrian."
