
Riyadh Metro, Public Transport Buses Extend Hours during Ramadan
Riyadh Public Transport has extended the operating hours of the Riyadh Metro and public transport buses during the month of Ramadan, according to Gulf News.
Therefore, the Riyadh Metro will run until 2am on all days except Friday with service extending until 3am.
The metro will begin operations at 12pm on Fridays instead of the usual morning schedule.
Meanwhile, public transport buses will operate daily from 6.30am to 3am.
From Sunday to Thursday, the Riyadh Metro will operate from 8am to 2am.
As for Saturdays, it will run from 10am to 2am, and from 12pm to 3am on Fridays.
Public transport buses will run from 6.30am to 3am daily.
The revised schedule seeks to facilitate mobility across the capital during Ramadan and provide commuters with greater flexibility in travel times.

As Saudi Arabia is gearing up for Eid Al-Adha holiday, Riyadh Transport has announced adjusted operating hours for Riyadh Metro. The new working hours will take effect from Thursday, June 5, 2025 until Thursday, June 12, 2025. The changes aim to accommodate the increased movement and travel patterns during the Eid Al-Adha holiday. According to the Riyadh Transport X account, the Orange Line will operate daily from 10 am to midnight, effective from June 5 until June 14 (corresponding to Dhu'al-Hijjah 9 to 18). The line will resume its regular timetable on June 15, 2025, operating from 6 am to midnight. Meanwhile, the other Riyadh Metro lines (Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Yellow) will have a different timetable as follows: From 8 am to midnight on June 5 From 10 am to midnight on June 6, 7, and 8 From 8 am to midnight on June 9, 10, and 11 The lines will get back to regular schedule on June 12, 2025, operating from 6 am to midnight. Furthermore, the Riyadh Transport announced adjusted operating hours for Riyadh Buses, which will work from 5 am to midnight from June 5 to June 12. The on-demand bus service will also be available throughout the same period to meet the increased demand during Eid Al-Adha holiday. On November 27, 2024, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, officially inaugurated the Riyadh Metro project, one of the largest transportation networks in the world. Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Riyadh's public transport has announced the Eid Al-Adha holiday operating hours for the Riyadh Metro and city buses, confirming that train services will end at a unified time of 12 midnight across all lines, while start times will vary by route. The Orange Line will operate from 10 a.m. to midnight during the period from June 5 to June 14 (corresponding to Dhul Hijjah 9 to 18). It will return to its regular schedule of 6 a.m. start time on June 15. For the remaining metro lines: On June 5, services will begin at 8 a.m. From June 6 to June 8, operations will start at 10 a.m. From June 9 to June 11, start time will revert to 8 a.m. Regular operations (starting at 6 a.m.) resume from June 12 onward. Meanwhile, Riyadh's bus services will run daily from 5 a.m. to midnight during the period from June 5 to June 12.
