12 Illegal Workers Detained And 125 Violators Deported
Twelve violating and irregular workers were detained, and 125 violators were deported following 1,077 inspection campaigns and visits carried out by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) between 25 and 31 May 2025.
The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring a number of violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.
The authority pointed out that 1,062 inspection visits were carried out on various shops in all governorates, in addition to 15 joint inspection campaigns, that included 5 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 3 campaigns in Muharraq Governorate, 6 campaigns in the Northern Governorate, and 1 campaign in the Southern Governorate.
The government entities that participated in the campaigns are the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Governorate's respective Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Social Insurance Organisation.
Joint coordination
The Authority affirmed the continuation of joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns in all governorates of the Kingdom, and to address any violations or practices that negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm economic and social security of the Kingdom.
The renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority's website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority's call centre on 17506055 or via the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).

Interior Ministry Penalizes 49 People For Transporting 197 Unauthorized Pilgrims
The Ministry of Interior has penalized as many as 49 people for violation of Hajj rules and regulations. The ministry said that the Hajj Security Forces have arrested 18 expatriates and 31 Saudi citizens at the entry points to Makkah while transporting 197 individuals who did not hold permits to perform Hajj. The ministry issued administrative rulings through the seasonal administrative committees against the transporters, accomplices, and unauthorized pilgrims. Penalties include imprisonment, fines of up to SR100,000, publicizing names of the violators in the local media at their own expense, deportation of expatriates with a 10-year re-entry ban after serving of the sentence, and legal proceedings for the confiscation of vehicles used in the violations. Unauthorized pilgrims face fines of up to SR20,000. In a related incident, Hajj Security Forces arrested 58 individuals for violating Hajj regulations by attempting to enter the city of Makkah without the required permits to perform the pilgrimage. They were referred to the competent authorities to slap the prescribed penalties. The ministry urged all citizens and residents to strictly adhere to Hajj regulations in order to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims during the performance of their rituals.

Speaking during the conference's second session, which focused on alternative sanctions and future challenges, participants highlighted the importance of balancing justice, rehabilitation, and public safety through modern sentencing practices. The session was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Muqbil, Assistant Undersecretary for State Cases and International Cooperation at Bahrain's Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments. Transition Egypt's former Interior Minister, Major General Ahmed Gamal El Din, noted that his country is transitioning from traditional incarceration to rehabilitation-focused facilities equipped with modern healthcare, drug treatment programmes, and educational services. He emphasised the role of technology in administering alternative sanctions while protecting public security and individual rights. Brigadier General Osama Majed Al-Majed, Assistant Director General of Kuwait's General Directorate of Correctional Institutions, outlined recent legal reforms in his country, including the new Domestic Violence Law and Alternative Sentencing Law No. 5 of 2025. These laws promote community service and rehabilitation as judicial alternatives, aiming to reduce reoffending and support reintegration. Collaboration He also called for continued regional collaboration in shaping responsive legal frameworks. Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Zuabi from the UAE Ministry of Interior shared the UAE's preventive justice strategy, which focuses on crime deterrence through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and smart surveillance systems.
