Amy Macdonald to play surprise TRNSMT set today after releasing new album
Chart-topper Amy Macdonald is preparing to perform an unannounced music set at TRNSMT later today.
The Record can reveal the 'This is the Life' singer will take to the stage at 6pm today to perform a 40-minute set of her best-known songs as well as a couple of tracks from her brand new album.
The singer, 37, is back with her sixth long player, Is This What You've Been Waiting For? which was released on Friday.
Organisers have reserved the slot for Bishopbriggs-born Amy on the Hangout stage under the moniker 'Mrs Rock & Roll'. Insiders have now confirmed Amy will take up the spot. Last year, Travis drew a huge crowd when they performed in the same Hangout area
Amy will perform a semi-acoustic set as part of a trio.

Revellers have been basking in the sunshine and sounds as the summer heatwave reaches fever pitch. Scotland's biggest ever music festival has coincided with soaring temperatures at Glasgow Green and across most of Scotland.
The wall-to-wall sunshine has seen some music fans struggling to cope in the heat but they turned out in their thousands to give a raft of top acts including headliners Fontaines D.C, The Kooks and Inhaler all ready to receive the warmest of welcomes.
Sophie MacGrain, 22, from Falkirk, media journalism graduate, said: 'We've been loads of times. I've been coming since I was 16, so quite a few years on the trot. I'm looking forward to seeing Inhaler. Tomorrow, I'll be looking to see Gracie Abrams. It's so hot. The water stations have helped a lot and we are trying to stay in the shade as much as possible. It makes it when it is a nice sunny day.'
Saturday's main stage will come to a close with headliners Biffy Clyro before a full package of music entertainment brings the festival to a close.

Kelsey Parker has suffered more tragedy in her young life than most people would have to deal with in a lifetime. The entrepreneur and podcaster endured the nightmare of seeing her husband, The Wanted singer Tom Parker, battle and eventually die from a brain tumour at the age of just 33, three years ago. 'My spirituality helps so much, because if I didn't have this, I don't know how I would get through a day,' she reveals. 'I feel Phoenix, and I look for the signs, and I feel like he's with me and the kids all the time. I am so happy that I found spirituality, because that's helped me through this massively. And I think that if I didn't find that on the journey with Tom, I would be so lost right now.' Advertisement Parker, who was in a relationship with Tom for 13 years and married him four years before his death in 2022, says her children are what make her carry on. 'Even with Phoenix, I had to get up the next day and be a mum,' she says. 'My kids are my saving grace – they get me out of bed in the morning. They've been through so much – they're four and six and they've lived such a life already, that life has to continue for them.' Life has to go on without their daddy, of course – but what have they been told about what happened to him and their baby brother? Advertisement 'It is what I believe. When you say everything happens for a reason, oh my God, that's really hard to think. But there's got to be a purpose, there needs to be something to get you through, and it's whatever you believe, isn't it? 'We're not just dying and not going on to anything else. I get signs all the time, so there's no way that when you die that you're just gone. There's absolutely no way. So that's where spirituality comes into it, because it's all about the journey of the soul.' Parker, who hosts the Mum's the Word podcast with her best pal Georgia Jones, wife of McFly singer Danny Jones, explains that she found spirituality when Tom was dying and she was searching for a way to come to terms with the terrible situation her little family found itself in. She says: 'When Tom was still here, I had to find something, because I was like 'this is so cruel'. I was 35 weeks pregnant with Bodhi and I had Aurelia who was only coming on 15 months, and I thought how can life be this cruel to us, how can this be happening for us? Advertisement 'We had the perfect life, and it obviously got flipped upside down. And then, by finding spirituality, you know that when they've gone, what reason they've gone for, and it gives you that bit of peace.' When Tom – who was also a 'massive, massive believer' – died, Parker says his soul left his body, but she stresses: 'I could feel his soul leave him, but his energy is still here. We learn it in science – energy can't be destroyed. It can only be transferred. Nevertheless, because they can't see Tom any more, photographs have brought comfort to the family. Pictures of Tom and Phoenix are incredibly precious to Parker, and that's why she's supporting the Virgin Media O2 and Hubbub Community Calling initiative to encourage people to donate unwanted, working smartphones to those who need them, after first backing up photos and videos on the old phones so they're not lost forever. Advertisement Virgin Media O2 research estimates there are a whopping 123 million unused devices gathering dust in drawers in the UK, and 46% of people are holding on to them due to sentimentality about the 27.7 billion memories they contain. 'I know when you have a device, you don't want to get rid of it because you feel like it holds so many memories,' says Parker. 'But this is a magical campaign, because when you back pictures up and make memory books, then what use is the old phone when it could help others? 'They're a lifeline for people who are homeless, or women fleeing domestic abuse, or even for those in my situation who need to speak to a bereavement nurse.' Parker has backed up her old phones and donated them to Community Calling, and adds: 'I've got pictures of Phoenix, and it was Tom's birthday on Monday, so I shared videos and photos of him on my Instagram, because that's how you remember people that aren't here any more.' But photographs don't assuage grief, so how is she coping with her double loss? 'It's three-and-a-half years down the line,' she says, 'and now I'm living with grief again, and it's a different kind of grief. But I've got to be strong and I've got to try and move forward and live my life for Phoenix.' 'They completely understand everything,' she says confidently. 'Aurelia has been here before – I always think about it. She's been sent to me because she understands absolutely everything. She's been really helpful this time around – even with Tom, she understood her dad wasn't coming back. 'He's with the angels.' She stresses that she has no problem talking about Tom, and in fact: 'I love talking about Tom. On his birthday, when we were celebrating him, we were talking about memories of what he'd done, and it's a beautiful thing to do. 'People suffer so much in their grief. But we're all going to deal with grief, because the one thing we're guaranteed in this life is we're all going to die. But we're absolutely terrible about talking about death – we can't cope with the fact that death happens.' And the brave mum adds, wistfully: 'Life is so precious, but it's so short. So live each day, celebrate each day that you're here. We all take life for granted.' Contestants were pushed to the limit as they battled it out for a life-changing £250,000, but one star says viewers didn't see the half of it — including a dramatic scene that never made it to air. Viewers watched 11 pairs make their debut - but were immediately faced with a twist. Only 10 pairs would get a room in The Fortune Hotel - as one duo would be eliminated at the first hurdle. The contestants took part in a tense boat race, with the first five pairs to arrive guaranteed safety. However, the bottom six were at risk of leaving before the contest fully began. One by one, they picked a case while hoping they didn't find the dreaded early checkout card. Luck ran out for best pals Briony and Chelsey, who picked the doomed case and were booted off the show before they even stepped foot inside The Fortune Hotel. The rest of the contestants continued to their first challenge and headed to the harbour. They were tasked to find a room key and make it to the hotel - but there were only 10 rooms. The land and sea race determined who was at risk of heading home. ITV issue major update on series two of The Fortune Hotel with Stephen Mangan following 'fakery row' Stephen explained: "Your first challenge is to find a room key and make it to the hotel. But there are eleven pairs here and there only ten rooms available at The Fortune Hotel,. "Only the first five pairs to arrive at the hotel will be guaranteed a room. If you're among the bottom six pairs, then you will be in danger because one of those pairs will be heading home." It was utter chaos as the couples were stumped over the puzzle, as well as how to drive and manoeuvre the boat. Contestant Atholl spoke out about how stressful the task really was. The Fortune Hotel season 2 cast A second season of The Fortune Hotel has begun, and the stakes have been raised once again. Hosted by Stephen Mangan, the second series will see 22 new contestants check into the hotel in pairs. Across the eight episodes, the teams must use strategy, observation, and a good poker face to figure out who's holding the fortune - and try to steal it - all while dodging the early elimination card. Which pair will take home the life-changing £250,000? The final six pairs played a high-stakes game of suitcase roulette - desperate to avoid the dreaded early departure card. But viewers have to wait till the next episode to see who's next to get the chop. The second series promises never-before-seen twists as Stephen teased: "It's brilliant getting a second series, because you can really lean into the stuff that people at home loved in the first series. "And there's more of that- more great challenges, more twists and turns, more drama. But also, a second series means that all the contestants have already seen the show. "It was a brand new show for the first series, no one had seen it, no one knew what to expect. "Now they've all come with a game plan so our job is to keep throwing them curveballs, so they can never relax and they never know what's coming." Atholl, 30, and his dad John, 58, are the current favourites to win the show. Coming all the way from Scotland, they travelled far for the show, so they didn't plan to go home empty-handed. This father and son duo is ready to get their hands on the £250,000 cash prize. Atholl said: "A lot of people are drawn to me, I'm quite a friendly person. My dad can deal with who the liars are as he's a retired police officer so has done a lot with body language. "Even when I was growing up, I could never lie! From being his son, I'm a great judge of character. If I have an inkling on something, I'm never normally wrong. I also remember details well, my memory is really good." Ex-police officer John added: "It's the ability to listen to people and gather information. Body language does tell you a lot." The podcast host and widow of The Wanted's Tom Parker sadly announced her third child was born stillborn at 39 weeks in June. Kelsey was looking forward to welcoming her third child, and first with partner Will Lindsay, who she met two years after The Wanted star's tragic death from an inoperable brain tumour in 2022. Now, Kelsey is ready to share her story, telling Christine that she wanted to be honest and open about the devastating ordeal. "I am strong," she said. Kelsey is mum to Aurelia, six, and Bodhi, four, with The Wanted singer, who were just four and two when Tom tragically passed away. "My kids are my everything, and they've got me through the darkest of times. I can't believe I'm back here three and a half years later, I'm dealing with such a loss and devastation." she told Christine. On how she navigated grief with her two young ones, Kelsey said she's done nothing but be honest. "It's being honest. It's telling them facts. Because I never want them to feel like I've not been honest and years later they say, 'Oh but mum, you didn't tell me this and you didn't tell me that!'" "They've lost their dad, they know their dad's with the angels now, so we told them, 'Pheonix has gone with your daddy,'" Kelsey told her children as she shared the devastating news. Kelsey then emphasised how important she felt it was to talk about grief, after she took time off social media to spend time with her family and allowing herself to grieve. The star took to Instagram in January to announce she was expecting her third child, but five months later broke the devastating news that the little boy who they had named Phoenix, was stillborn. She told her son that "you will forever be loved" in a heartfelt poem posted on her social media page. Speaking on the poem, Kelsey said: "That suited us to share our news. It was such hard news to share." "Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, you will forever be loved', she wrote alongside a moving poem, entitled For Phoenix, Born Sleeping, Forever Loved. The poem read: 'The world grew quiet as you arrived, So loved, so longed for, yet not alive. Our precious boy, our angel light, Born with wings, took silent flight. 'We named you Phoenix, brave and bright. A soul of love, of warmth and light Though we never heard you cry, You'll live in hearts that won't ask why. No breath you drew, no eyes to see, "Still, you mean everything to me. You'll journey with us, softly near, In every sigh, in every tear.'
