Culture Ministry Launches Saudi-Chinese Cultural Year 2025
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture has launched the Saudi-Chinese Cultural Year 2025 in China, highlighting the strong and deep relations between both countries, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Ther 2025 cultural year marks a significant milestone in boosting the bilateral cultural ties through a vast array of interactive events. Such events will further enhance the cultural scene in both nations and deepen the historical ties between their peoples.
In February, the Ministry of Culture collaborated with the Saudi Embassy and organized a prestigious Founding Day celebration in Beijing. Interestingly, the celebration displayed Saudi heritage through artisan demonstrations of traditional handicrafts as well as displays of Arabic calligraphy.
Currently, the Ministry of Culture's Visual Arts Commission is organizing an important exhibition of renowned Saudi contemporary artist Ahmed Mater. In collaboration with UCCA Edge, the exhibition will take place from March 8 to July 8, 2025, at the UCCA Edge in Shanghai. Titled 'Antenna,' the event marks the artist's first major solo show in China.
Ahmed Mater is one of the most prominent Saudi artists who had pivotal efforts in developing the contemporary art scene in the Kingdom.
The exhibition will provide the Chinese audience with an exclusive opportunity to explore a significant aspect of the contemporary art scene in the Kingdom. Furthermore, it will feature more than 100 artworks mirroring Mater's artistic practice and cultural reflections.

EDward Gaming fails to qualify for Masters Toronto

The powerful Chinese team is currently participating in the VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 2, part of the Asian Champions League. The top two teams from this tournament will qualify for the Esports World Cup. Looking ahead, EDG's next major international opportunity will be VALORANT Champions 2025. China will be represented by four teams: the top two teams from VCT China Stage 2, and the top two teams based on ranking points. EDG still leads by 10 points, but their position could be threatened if other Chinese teams deliver strong results in Toronto.

Sonder announces retirement from VALORANT after Red Bull Instalock
The ES TIMES — Veteran Game Changers player Diana 'sonder' Zhang has officially announced her retirement from VALORANT competition, with Red Bull Instalock 2025 being her final appearance on the stage. The Chinese-American player, who currently represents FlyQuest RED, shared the news on social media, stating that she will be stepping away from professional esports to pursue new goals in her life. 'I am grateful for all the amazing people I have met along the way,' Sonder wrote. 'Thank you all for the support, love, and encouragement through every moment, whether it's the ups or the downs. I hope I've made it clear that no matter what, always have fun.' 'I'm not sad that it's over, I'm happy that it happened. I love you all.' Despite her departure from the competitive scene, Sonder confirmed that she will continue to stream regularly on her Twitch channel, maintaining a presence within the community that has supported her throughout her career. Sonder's journey in VALORANT began in 2021 with Moon Raccoons Black, quickly rising to the top, joining Shopify Rebellion GC, where she spent over two years. In early 2024, Sonder joined FlyQuest RED, remaining with them for over a year before announcing her decision to retire. Cinema Al-Balad in Jeddah has recently hosted an inspiring drama therapy workshop to highlight the role of drama therapy in creative work and even in daily life, according to Arab News. Themed 'In drama we find the power to express, and in expression we find the power to heal,' the workshop was organized in collaboration with both Lujain Faqerah, senior psychologist and creative arts supervisor, and Abdul Al-Shareef, actor and screenwriter. How Can Drama Support Healing? During the event, the attendees had an interesting opportunity to explore how drama can be a source of support for emotional awareness, healing as well as connection. 'Drama is integrated naturally in our daily responses and situations. In a therapeutic setting, it helps us observe these interactions and reflect on a deeper level of our unconscious body gestures and movements that might reveal a lot about our personalities,' Faqerah said.
