WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Thanks to the Wichita County Action Network, All Hands Cultural Community Center officials can continue empowering the community's youth.
George Senn, president of the Wichita County Action Network, presented All Hands officials with a $5,000 check on Thursday, April 3.
Wichita Falls Housing Authority hosts early childhood fair for families
Chief Operating Officer Ronnie Williams said this would be vital for summer programs like Green Paradise Garden.
He said it will also help partnerships with United Regional and WFISD to provide education on medical emergencies and different classes.
Williams said this ensures that children can utilize these services throughout the summer.
'This is a different organization in a different place. We're on the ground work with our kids in our community, and the way we teach them is totally different in other ways. So this check will give us an opportunity to provide more services and try to close the gaps with the problem that they're having in our community,' Williams said.

A shooting and crash in Florida that resulted in three people being charged was a result of road rage, police say. Around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, the driver of a Jeep Compass was waiting to turn left out of a parking lot when the driver of a Buick sedan turned left into the lot, in front of the Jeep driver. The Buick driver, Anthony Williams, parked and the Jeep driver, Raesean Poole, backed up to confront Williams about not using a turn signal, Bradenton police said on Facebook. Defensive coach filling in as Patriots DC revealed as longtime assistant
Zak Kuhr has taken over some of the defensive coordinator duties with Terrell Williams out due to health reasons. There is currently no timeline for Williams' return, although he has stayed in contact with the coaches and players through Zoom. However, Kuhr noted that he was an extension of Williams and Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, and he has worked hard to echo their message. Advertisement Kuhr was an assistant under Vrabel with the Tennessee Titans as a quality control coach and an assistant inside linebackers coach. The two reunited with Vrabel landing the job in New England and Kuhr being brought in as a defensive assistant. This news comes in the final week of OTAs for the Patriots. There is hope that Williams makes a full recovery and returns as the defensive coordinator, but Kuhr's role could be extended if that isn't the case. The personnel on defense has improved significantly, but Kuhr and Williams will have their work cut out for them in turning things around. The Patriots ranked 22nd in total yards allowed per game with an average of 342.9 yards last season, and they also ranked 22nd in points with an average of 24.5 points allowed per game. Upstate man arrested following overdose death
OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – An Upstate man was arrested Tuesday in relation to an overdose death reported in Oconee County. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office charged 35-year-old Akeem Olajuwon Chavezia Williams, of Central, with involuntary manslaughter following the overdose death of a 24-year-old Seneca man. On Sunday, March 30, deputies responded to a home on South Oak Pointe Drive near Lake Keowee after the victim was found dead in a room by a family member. Narcotics, including blue pressed pills, were also found in the room, according to the sheriff's office. Evidence gathered from the scene was sent to the sheriff's office for testing. It was determined by the Oconee County Coroner's Office that the deceased individual had fentanyl in his system. Other evidence obtained throughout the investigation identified Williams as a person of interest due to him supposedly selling the blue fentanyl pills to the victim on March 29. After consultations with the 10th Circuit Solicitor's Office, arrest warrants were obtained against Williams, according to deputies. He was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center, where he awaits bond. Deputies also charged the suspect with distribution of a controlled substance. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
