About 'Snow White'
Based on the 1937 classic animated story 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the film revolves around a princess who runs away from her evil stepmother and finds solace by befriending the seven dwarfs. The OTT version will have special features such as a sing-along version, bloopers, deleted scenes, and behind-the-scenes featurettes, according to Mint.
The criticism that followed the film...
While the original film has been beloved for decades, Disney's live-action remake did not achieve the anticipated box office during its theatrical release.
Along with marketing mishaps, such as criticism, controversially diverse political statements, the film was barred from achieving millions due to its creativity. The fans were upset about the CGI use on dwarfs and the costume designs.
'Snow White' OTT release
Released on June 11, 2025, on JioHotstar in India and Disney worldwide, the cast of 'Snow White' includes Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, Andrew Barth Feldman as Dopey, Ansu Kabia as Huntsman, and many more.
According to the ETimes review of the film, 'In its 21st century adaptation, 'Snow White' updates itself to show that a princess doesn't need a knight in shining armour but at the same time, it doesn't quite manage to sweep you off your feet.'

Kerala Crime Files Season 2 OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Aju Varghese and Lal's Malayalam series

Kerala Crime Files Season 2 OTT Release Date: After the strong buzz around its debut season, Kerala Crime Files is back with a second round, and this time, the mystery cuts deeper. Titled Kerala Crime Files: The Hunt for CPO Ambili, Season 2 is all set to premiere on June 20, 2025, on JioHotstar. It will stream not just in Malayalam but also in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The first season that set the tone When Kerala Crime Files dropped its first season last year, it didn't come in with a lot of noise. But what worked in its favour was how quietly gripping the narrative turned out to be. Directed by Ahammed Khabeer, the story followed the investigation into the murder of a sex worker found dead in a shady lodge. The only clue? A fake ID left behind with the name Shiju. No melodrama, no heroism, just six grounded episodes that focused on the step-by-step police investigation, handled by SI Manoj (played by Aju Varghese) and his superior, played by Lal. It won praise for its realistic portrayal of crime-solving and the kind of quiet tension that stays with you. What's new in Season 2? This time, the case hits closer to home. The storyline revolves around the sudden disappearance of a police officer, CPO Ambili Raju, and the chain of events that unfold when his team sets out to find him. Veteran actor Indrans plays Ambili, and though he's missing for most of the series, his presence, or rather, absence, becomes the emotional core of the narrative. The returning cast includes Aju Varghese, Lal, Sanju Sanichen, and Navas Vallikunnu, but the big new addition this season is Arjun Radhakrishnan, who takes on the role of SI Noble, the cop leading the hunt. If Arjun's name rings a bell, that's because he was seen in projects like Rocket Boys, Ullozhukku, and Kannur Squad, known for taking up intense roles that require a lot of emotional range. The supporting cast also gets a boost with actors like Harishree Ashokan, Noorin Shereef, Shibla Fara, and Jeo Baby. Who's behind it? Ahammed Khabeer again directs Kerala Crime Files Season 2. The writing this time is handled by Bahul Ramesh, the same writer behind Kishkinda Kaandam, which was appreciated for its quirky tone and sharp dialogues. Before the official release, the team has planned a special screening in Kochi on June 18 for members of the film fraternity and media. The series will follow a weekly drop format and is expected to have 6 to 8 episodes, similar to its first run.

Fictional castles inspired by real-life structures

Imagine you could design and build your fantasy castle. Would your walls be made of ice? Would your roof soar till the clouds or be snug and low like a cave? Our mental pictures of fantasy castles may come from our favourite books and films. But imagination often has some roots in reality, and many fantastic fictional castles are inspired by actual buildings. Stave Churches of Norway Remember Elsa and Anna's castle in Frozen? Did you know that the basis for this picturesque setting with fjords and snowy mountains is Norway? The castles and buildings in the film were inspired by Norway's wooden architecture, particularly stave churches. Stave means a vertical wooden plank and these 12th century churches were built primarily of wood. The sloped, pointed roofs were supported by vertical posts and the interiors had wood carvings. Norway once had over 1000 such churches but only 28 remain today. One of the best-preserved is the Borgund Stave Church. The series of roofs decreasing in size with dragon head decorations gives it the effect of a castle. Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany This castle, located in the foothills of the Alps in Bavaria, Southern Germany, is often dubbed the 'Disney Castle', since it was a key inspiration for Walt Disney for his fantasy universe. You can spot similarities to this real-life castle in Sleeping Beauty in Disneyland and in the logo at the beginning of every Disney movie. King Ludwig II, an eccentric king who loved the arts, built this grand, whimsical castle in 1869 not for defence or politics, but purely for fun. The interiors have some fairytale elements like a secret door that leads to a stone grotto (a cave), with an artificial waterfall and a rainbow machine! University of Oxford, England While the Harry Potter movies were filmed at several castles, manor houses and churches across England including the Durham Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral and Alnwick Castle, the layout and architecture of Hogwarts was strongly influenced by the universities, Oxford and Cambridge, with their stately Gothic buildings with pointed arches, intricate carvings and stone facades. The libraries, grand dining halls and common rooms have wall tapestries, fireplaces and portraits of important people that inspired some scenes to be filmed at Oxford, while others were used to recreate film sets. For example, the Great Hall of Hogwarts was recreated based on the dining hall of the Christ Church College at Oxford. If you had to draw your own fantasy castle, what would your real-life inspirations be?

Surviving Ohio State OTT Release Date: When and where to watch HBO's sexual abuse scandal documentary in India

Surviving Ohio State OTT Release Date: Directed by award-winning Australian filmmaker Eva Orner, who also won an Oscar for her work exposing abuse, the 108-minute feature peels back nearly two decades of horrific wrongdoing at Ohio State University between 1978 and 1998. Surviving Ohio State lands in India on JioHotstar on June 18, just a day after its U.S. debut on HBO and Max on June 17. More about Surviving Ohio State Surviving Ohio State's backbone is the investigative work of journalist Jon Wertheim, whose October 2020 Sports Illustrated piece laid bare 'Why Aren't More People Talking About the Ohio State Sex Abuse Scandal?'. That story exploded into public consciousness, and it's the jump‑off point for Orner's relentless search to understand how so many powerful people looked the other way. On screen, real survivors, largely male athletes, many former standouts in wrestling, share chilling memories: locker-room exams, secretive deflections, silence from coaches and administrators who 'just dealt with it.' We hear from men like Mark Coleman (later a UFC heavyweight champion), the DiSabato brothers, Will Knight, Al Novakowski, Rocky Ratliff, Dan Ritchie, Mike Schyck, Stephen Snyder‑Hill, and even a wrestling referee, Frederick Feeney. Their voices carry incredible weight because, as one survivor reflects on-screen: 'You walk into a room, and Doc tells you to turn the lights off... Who you gonna tell?'. Behind the scenes, Orner approached Surviving Ohio State with sensitivity: she spent months building trust, speaking with about 100 survivors before a core group felt ready to go public. She even screened the finished cut privately with them, complete with mental health support, to make sure they're seen with dignity, not sensationalised. The crew is also stacked: George Clooney, Grant Heslov, and David Glasser joined as producers for Smokehouse Pictures/HBO Sports, with cinematographer Nick Higgins and editor Charles Olivier shaping the story's flow; composer Cornel Wilczek provides the music.
