Aardman announces Halloween-themed Shaun The Sheep film
A new Halloween-themed Shaun The Sheep film is in the works.
Animation powerhouse Aardman, which also creates the Wallace And Gromit films, has partnered with Sky and production company StudioCanal for the movie – Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom.
The animated sheep first appeared on screens 30 years ago in Bafta and Oscar-winning film Wallace And Gromit: A Close Shave.
In 2007 the character got his own children's programme on CBBC, which has become one of Aardman's best-performing properties.

The new film sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween until the farmer trashes the flock's beloved pumpkin patch.

Shaun tries to fix the problem but things soon spiral out of control and the farmer goes missing while a wild beast roams the woods of Mossingham.
This will be the third stop-motion animated feature film about Shaun The Sheep after 2015's Shaun The Sheep Movie and 2019's A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon.
In 2021, Aardman released a 30-minute special, the International Emmy-winning Shaun The Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas.
Andrew Orr, executive producer and head of originals for Sky Cinema, said: 'Shaun is a household name, so it's huge news for us to be welcoming him and the flock to our 2026 Sky Original film slate.

Earlier in the year, the team behind Wallace And Gromit took home Bafta awards for best animation and best children and family film for their latest movie about the inventor and his loyal beagle – Vengeance Most Fowl.
Further details about the Sky Original feature film, written by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow, will be released in due course.
Sky is confirmed as exclusive UK distributor, releasing in cinemas and on Sky Cinema, alongside StudioCanal as global partner outside the UK.

The zany alter ego of Paul Reubens started to emerge through small parts on game shows like The Newlywed Game and a late-night stage shows at the Roxy before becoming one of the biggest pop culture icons of the 1980s. The character inspired TV, movies, toys and even a Halloween costume. On June 14, the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his first feature film, Pee-wee's Big Adventure, which was also the feature debut for director Tim Burton, with a screening, reunion and party featuring many members of the original cast and crew. Comedian Dana Gould will interview E.G. Daily, who played Pee-wee's girlfriend Dottie. Mark Holton who played Pee-wee's nemesis Francis will also hit the stage along with Diane Salinger, remembered for her monologue in the mouth of a giant dinosaur, her dream of Paris, France and her 'big but.' The event benefits Stand Up To Cancer, which is fighting the disease that claimed Reubens in 2023, and is produced by Nostalgic Nebula, who have also rounded up original crew members including producer Rich Abramson, co-writer Michael Varhol, production designer David Snyder and the Chiodo Brothers, who created the terrifying stop-motion Large Marge character for the film. The HBO documentary Pee-wee as Himself, premiered last month and has revived interest in Paul Reubens' life and career. The two-part film allowed the comedy icon to tell his own story, clarify misconceptions around him, and come out as gay. 'My whole career,' he says in the film. Lowe's just revealed this year's Disney Haunted Mansion collection and choices were definitely made in sculpting the iconic figures from the Disney Parks ride. Just give a little gander at the groundskeeper—he's even more terrifying than the Hitchhiking Ghosts! The eyes, so fleshy and protruding like they've seen a thing or two on a Doombuggy passing by. He looks absolutely nightmarish, so there's no doubt he will work for the best lawn jump scares. He'll set you back $249. At least with the Knight, the sculpt fares better, right? It's really more befitting to have the dead center stare come from the severed head, methinks. This hallway icon is available for $349 and is musical, featuring 'Grim Grinning Ghosts' along with its motion programming. Speaking of grim grinning ghosts, here are the Hitchhiking Ghost animatronics ($299), which we think approximates the designs from the ride closely enough while having that bought-in-a-Halloween store campiness in their outlandish design. It's a month rich in comedy nights, parties, opportunities to build community, and places where LGBTQ+ history will be set in the spotlight. People take to the stage with a 3-to-5-minute PowerPoint presentation to pitch one of their single friends to a crowd of other singles. It's ridiculous and fun. The presentations are positive and heartfelt pitches for why you should date their friend. Pitch-A-Friend will also host nights on June 11 at Rail Werks Brewing Depot in Columbia Heights, June 27 at Wild Mind Ales in Minneapolis, and July 10 at Fat Pants Brewing in Eden Prairie. Every night is LGBTQ+-friendly, but the June 17 one is specifically the group's "Queer Night" event. (free) June 21, at Insight Brewing in Minneapolis Dubbed a "charity party for cats and queers," Insight is bringing back its patio party filled with vendors, artists, beer, and cats that need some scratches. The free event, cosponsored by Twin Cities Pride and Ruff Start Rescue, will have a "kitten snuggling booth" where 100% of proceeds for entering go toward supporting Ruff Start's shelters. There will also be live music from Daphne Jane, Riley Skinner, and Chastity Brown. (free entry) June 22, at First Avenue in Minneapolis Wrestling and pride? If that's surprising, you probably haven't been paying close attention to F1rst Wrestling or seen its "F1rst Wrestling Is For Everyone" t-shirts. Wrestlepalooza will include burlesque from Sweetpea and Co., music by The Denim Boys, and plenty of wrestling. Proceeds will benefit OutFront Minnesota. ($45.90) June 27–29, at Loring Park in Minneapolis Minnesota's largest free pride festival returns — sans Target — from June 27 to 29. It starts with the Twin Cities Pride Youth Night on June 27 from 4–8 p.m. Then the party runs throughout the weekend with three stages of entertainment, artists, more than 650 vendors, heaps of food trucks, a couple of beer gardens, a cannabis garden, and lots more around Loring Park. The festival still hasn't outlined all of the entertainment that will be happening, but that will undoubtedly be coming soon. And don't forget the Twin Cities Pride Parade. That'll roll down Hennepin Avenue from 3rd Street to Spruce from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (free) June 27, at Minneapolis Sculpture Garden A day before the Twin Cities Pride Festival takes over Loring Park, cross Lyndale Avenue to taste the wares from heaps of local craft breweries in some good company. ($59.43–$74.93) June 28, at First Avenue in Minneapolis Flip Phone, the Minnesota-founded event promoter that hosts drag brunches all year, has a lot going on in June. That includes this First Avenue party starring RuPaul's Drag Race vet Anetra. The full June lineup for Flip Phone is extensive, including more than a dozen drag brunches with themes like Prince, Bad Bunny, the 2000s, and Shrek vs. SpongeBob. It's also got a one-woman show with Suzie Toot, a Pride Parade viewing party, and a Pride Disco Block Party on June 29. ($29.12) Various dates and locations There are a lot of Pride-themed movie series playing in June. That includes series at The Parkway Theater and Alamo Drafthouse, as well as other locations.
