By John Lee.
Iraq's Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, has reportedly announced that the country will resume crude oil exports through the Ceyhan pipeline to Turkiye either today (Wednesday) or tomorrow.
Speaking during the inauguration of several oil station development and rehabilitation projects in Kirkuk, the Minister confirmed an initial export volume of 80,000 barrels per day, following an agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), according to the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) .
It says he also noted a production boost at the wet oil station in northern Kirkuk, with an increase of 25,600 barrels per day, bringing the facility's total capacity to 90,000 barrels per day.
The resumption of exports marks a significant step in restoring Iraq's northern oil flows, which have been suspended since March 2023 amid legal and political disputes.

Iraq Launches $307m Road Project in Karbala

By John Lee. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has launched the first phase of the Imam Hussein Roundabout project in Karbala, aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city. The 9.2-km project, costing over 400 billion Iraqi dinars [$307 million], is one of three planned ring roads in the governorate's master plan, with a combined total length of 27 km. It has been designed to high specifications and will be divided into six sections, with a width of about 60 metres. The project includes 13 intersections and three main overpasses - Al-Jaber, Baghdad, and Al-Rushdiya. Al-Sudani emphasised the importance of the project in easing movement for residents and visitors, particularly during religious occasions, and said Karbala's growing role and significance require additional planning and infrastructure solutions. Kurdistan rejects Baghdad oil deal over law violation

Shafaq News – Erbil The Kurdistan Region is ready to comply with all financial management laws under the Iraqi constitution, but rejects the proposed agreement with the Iraqi government, a senior Kurdish official said on Saturday. Rebaz Hamlan, Financial Adviser to the Kurdish Prime Minister, told Shafaq News that despite multiple meetings and memorandums of understanding between the two finance ministries, 'the Iraqi government often fails to honor the terms of agreements.' Hamlan pointed that the Regional Government (KRG) is willing to hand over oil if Baghdad agrees to receive and store it, allocating 50,000 barrels per day for the Region's local needs and about 130,000 barrels for the federal government. 'Baghdad has refused this arrangement and ignored the fact that oil fields have come under rocket and drone attacks.' He accused Baghdad of seeking to breach the Financial Management Law by demanding all of Kurdistan's local revenues plus 50% of other funds. Despite this, he said, the KRG has decided to transfer all tax and border customs revenues to Baghdad, while keeping certain service fees under the control of Kurdish ministries to cover internal expenses and daily needs. Hamlan added that Baghdad has so far declined to sign the agreement. The KRG has referred its memorandum of understanding with the Iraqi Finance Ministry to the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, with a decision expected in the Council of Ministers on Sunday.
