Aston Martini, who is rated 132 over hurdles, was getting 2lbs from Il Est Francais but could have given weight all round as she ran out a decisive ten-length winner.
It was yet another flop for 3-5 chance Il Est Francais, who looked a world-beater when winning the Kauto Star Novices' Chase at Kempton in 2023.
The Noel George and Amanda Zetterholm-trained chaser put in one of the greatest jumping performances the Surrey track has ever seen that day.
And he looked like the King George winner last Boxing Day only to be nutted late on by Banbridge in a Christmas cracker.
But a weak finish in the Ryanair saw questions over his future once more - after he bled when flopping at Auteuil last November.
Now doubts have surfaced all over again after he could only finish third in a race that should have been his for the taking.

His Aston Martini, who is closely related to former Grand National winner Rule The World, stamped her class all over this 2m3f race.

Sent off around 7-1, jockey Felix De Giles never had to get serious, merely easing out the mare to win comfortably.
Sun Racing's Matt Chapman was one of those commenting on Il Est Francais' latest nightmare.
And he suggested the horse could benefit from being sent to Henderson, with a change of scenery perhaps enough to reignite his career.
Chapman said on Sky: "You know what, if I was the owner I'd try a change of scenery.
"That's not to do with the way current connections train the horse, but I'd maybe send him to Nicky Henderson.
"Perhaps different surroundings, a different feed, whatever might make a difference to the medical condition - or whatever it is he has.
"Maybe it won't make a difference where he was, but I would just try something different and see if anyone else can sort out his issues.
"Because they have been going on some time now and, for me, it might time to try something different… or give up!
"But I wouldn't personally give up on him."
George didn't sound too disappointed afterwards, saying Il Est Francais would now enjoy a summer break before coming back in the autumn.
Another crack at the King George looks logical but he is out to 20-1 for that now.
Speaking after the win, Henderson said: "That was fantastic, a great performance, and we only came here to achieve one thing and that was to get some black type, as there were no more Listed races in Britain and we've had it in mind for some time.
"It nearly scuppered our plan to see Il Est Francais in the race, but she was amazing.
"It's a beautiful track and it was beautiful ground with so much grass on it, it's a great place.
"I was talking to Noel George and he said it wasn't just Il Est Francais in there and there was also some other very good horses in there.
"It's actually the second time we've won that race and we won it with Fixe Le Kap in 2017 and I rode here 50 years ago in a cross-country, which is a bit scary!"

Gareth Southgate ‘enjoying life' and not actively seeking management return

Former England boss Gareth Southgate says he is not actively looking at a return to management and was puzzled to see himself linked with the Poland job over the summer. It is 13 months since the former defender called time on his successful eight-year stint as national team boss in the wake of their Euro 2024 final defeat by Spain in Berlin. Southgate led England to back-to-back European Championship finals, as well as runs to the World Cup semi-finals and quarter-finals, after stepping up from the under-21s role in 2016. England manager Gareth Southgate left after Euro 2024 (Bradley Collyer/PA) The 54-year-old suggested during his time out of the game that his next job could be away from football and says he is in no rush to return to the dugout. 'I'm enjoying my life,' Southgate told the PA news agency. 'I've got quite a lot on. 'I'm in the middle of writing a book, I've got several business interests. I do some work on leadership, help with some young coaches. 'But I've also got time to travel and play a bit of golf, play a bit of paddle tennis, so yeah, I'm very much enjoying that balance.' Asked whether he is looking at returning to management or if the future lies in something else, Southgate said: 'You can't say never to anything because 15 years ago I left Middlesbrough and I wasn't certain I would manage then. 'Then I ended up on a strange path into managing the national team. But it's not something I'm actively looking at at the moment.' Southgate's sojourn meant eyebrows were raised when speculation emanated from Poland in June that his return to management could be with their national team. 'I am kind of used to it,' he said of the rumours about him. 'I mean, I was linked with the Poland job, which I knew nothing about, so that was a strange one. 'Something gets written and then it's reported everywhere, but yeah, there's probably a lot of others, but I kind of accept it now for what it is.' Current England boss Thomas Tuchel joined Southgate at the PFA Awards (Martin Rickett/PA) Southgate was speaking at the PFA Awards in Manchester, where he picked the PFA Merit Award recognising his contributions to football and achievements with England. Thomas Tuchel is looking to build on those foundations and lead the team to glory at next summer's World Cup and was another in attendance at the event at the Manchester Opera House. 'I think they've obviously got lots of good players,' Southgate said of the current England side. 'There is, as always, some exciting young players coming through. 'It's important for me not to say too much more than that, really, because I don't want to step on Thomas' toes at all.'

Revenues up at Lifestyle Sports, as firm eyes return to profit in 2025

That is according to new accounts filed by Lifestyle Sports (Ireland) Ltd, which show the firm's pre-tax losses halved from €2.4m to €1.2m in the 12 months to the end of September 28 last year. In their report, the directors said the business has recorded revenue growth since the end of last September, although in the period under review revenues dipped slightly from €104.99m to €104.18m. The company operates the Lifestyle Sports business through 38 bricks-and-mortar stores, as well as online. In their report, the directors said: 'The company's profitability continued with increased momentum post-year-end and for the quarter ended December 31, 2024, which includes the key Black Friday and Christmas trading period, the company reported a €1.2m or 23pc increase in Ebitda [earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation]. 'This increase in cash profitability was a function of not just continuing cost savings, but a welcome return to top-line growth with like-for-like revenue growth of 4.5pc and an increase in gross margin per cent by 240 basis points for the quarter versus the same quarter in the prior year.' Growth in revenue was broad-based across both the performance and the sports-inspired fashion segments in the men's, women's and children's ranges. 'This performance, in what remains a challenging and competitive market, was validation of the company's strategy based on premium omni-channel retailing focused on the stylised athlete, benefiting from exclusive access to some of the most popular sports inspired brands in Ireland,' they said. Lifestyle Sports is owned by the Wexford-based Stafford Group. Increased cash profitability contributed to a €1.53m reduction in operating losses Reflecting on the 2024 fiscal performance, the directors said results for the year were 'encouraging'. The company reported a €2.34m, or 50pc, increase in Ebitda from €4.66m in the year ended September 30, 2023, to €7m in the year ended September 28, 2024. Increased cash profitability contributed to a €1.53m reduction in operating losses to €408,000. Exceptional costs of €624,372 relating to store-closure costs and restricting costs contributed to the pre-tax loss of €1.23m. The recovery in cash profitability was largely attributable to cost savings arising from the completion of the first full year of operations of the company's new automated warehouse facility, and further savings across property and personnel costs. Numbers employed reduced from 408 to 383, as staff costs declined from €13.5m to €13.45m. The pre-tax loss of €1.23m takes account of non-cash depreciation costs of €7.41m. In a post-balance sheet event, the directors revealed the company participated in the successful refinancing of the Stafford Group with Bank of Ireland, to put in place five-year facilities maturing in November 2029. They successfully paid down almost €7m of bank debt over the preceding 12 months from a combination of asset disposals and tighter working capital management. The Stafford Group refinanced its total banking facilities of €22.7m through a combination of term loans amounting to €19.2m and overdraft facilities amounting to €3.5m. They said the refinancing extends the Stafford Group's multi-generational relationship with Bank of Ireland and ensures the group and company are appropriately capitalised to secure their long-term strategic objectives. Shareholder funds at Lifestyle Sports (Ireland) at the end of last September totalled €40.87m, as cash funds declined from €11.2m to €8m.
