The Supreme Court on Wednesday nodded to hike electricity tariff in Delhi. However, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) is instructed to ensure that the electricity remains affordable and the tariff increase should be reasonable.
For Delhiites, the electricity rates might go up with the introduction of hiked tariff rates. The apex court has also asked the commission to provide a roadmap.
Further, it is asked that regulatory assets should not exceed the statutory percentage and efforts should be made to delink regulatory assets recovery from tariffs.
