
Saudi Healthcare System provides nearly 200,000 services to pilgrims
MAKKAH — Saudi Arabia's premier Healthcare System has provided with approximately 200,000 high-quality health services to pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season.
Health services were delivered through streamlined and accessible means, aligning with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program—both part of Saudi Vision 2030—that aim to enable pilgrims to perform their rituals safely while receiving efficient medical care.
The Ministry of Health affirmed that preventive measures and the coordinated efforts across the healthcare system led to the successful implementation of health plans during this Hajj season, with no recorded disease outbreaks or threats to public health. Joint coordination with other government entities ensured a safe and healthy environment, allowing pilgrims to complete their rituals with ease and peace of mind.

26 health violations detected and two establishments closed in Riyadh
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Riyadh Mayoralty has detected 26 violations threatening public health during inspection tours covering several shops providing soft drinks in the capital city. The inspections have resulted in the closure of two establishments for the violations. The inspection tours were carried out in participation of relevant authorities and partners, as part of daily monitoring and after receiving a number of reports via the "Madinaty" app. This was aimed at protecting public health and ensuring these establishments' compliance with municipal regulations. The mayoralty explained that multiple violations were detected related to poor hygiene, employing employees without the necessary health certificates, and other practices that affect consumer safety. The violations also included poor storage and handling of food and beverages, unsanitary handling, displaying or using meat showing signs of spoilage, and employees' failure to maintain personal hygiene and a healthy appearance. The violations also included the presence of live and dead pests within the facility, poor hygiene in food preparation areas and equipment, employees' failure to wear appropriate uniforms, head coverings, and gloves, operating without a license, and reopening the facility before the end of the period for the closure taken as a punitive inspection teams also detected violations including the failure to provide appropriate containers for waste disposal, employing workers without health certificates, failure to comply with regulations for the display and storage of tobacco products, the absence of food labels, and the lack of adequate ventilation and violations also included cracks in floors and walls, violations related to public facility safety, water leakage from equipment, the use of non-compliant tools and utensils, and failure to provide necessary maintenance to cooling and heating mayoralty took strict measures against these violations, including issuing warnings, serving notices, imposing fines, and closing facilities that pose a direct threat to public health. Saudi health minister visits Australia
RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Health Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel has met Saudi students at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, one of the world's leading academic institutions, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday. AlJalajel met up with students from various academic disciplines and stressed their role as ambassadors for their country in the ambitious transformation the Kingdom is undertaking under Saudi Vision 2030, which aspires to build a vibrant society and deliver world-class services across sectors. He praised the Human Capability Development Program, which seeks to prepare students for global competitiveness by fostering both foundational and future skills and knowledge; transferring international best practices in education and skills development; aligning educational outcomes with the needs of the local and global labor market; and advancing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The meeting reflected the leadership's commitment to investing in human capital, as thousands of Saudi students pursue higher education abroad in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program.
