Last Updated:
Aditya Roy Kapur surprised fans with his singing during the album launch of Metro In Dino, reminding many of his character Rahul Jaykar from Aashiqui 2.
The star cast of Anurag Basu's 'Metro In Dino', including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Neena Gupta, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Konkona Sensharma graced the album launch of the film last night. It was earlier revealed that Aditya Roy Kapur would make his singing debut in the film, but fans hadn't heard him sing- until now! Much to their delight, he finally showcased his singing talent last night at the album launch by singing the song 'Ishq Hai Ya Tharak' from the film. Fans were mighty impressed with his singing, reminding many of his character Rahul Jaykar from Aashiqui 2.
A video of Aditya Roy Kapur singing 'Ishq Hai Ya Tharak' on stage has gone viral on social media. While the song hasn't been officially released yet, the makers are expected to drop it soon. Aditya sang the catchy song effortlessly, and had a great time singing the song! The video was shared on Reddit's BollyBlindsNGossip page with the caption, 'Adi roy kapoor singing during metro in dino 2 promotions. He seems to be having so much fun." Netizens were all praise for the actor. One fan wrote, 'Close enough… welcome back RJ," referencing his character Rahul Jaykar from the 2013 film Aashiqui 2, in which he played a singer and musician. Another comment read, 'Adi is a pookie and metro cast is fun together." A third fan wrote, 'ladies and gentlemen put your hands together for rahullll jaykarrrrr."
Check out the video below!
Before Aditya Roy Kapur took the stage, host Sumukhi Suresh introduced him and said, 'He is a newcomer. He needs a lot of support. He has never seen stage before. So you have to clap a little." As soon as Aditya arrived on stage, he greeted the audience saying, 'Hello friends, I am a newcomer, I need your support."
Aditya Roy Kapur On His Singing Debut
Meanwhile, earlier, Aditya shared that while he has sung privately for his friends, this marks his official singing debut in a film. The decision to sing happened naturally due to the musical format of the film, and it turned out well, offering fans a fresh experience of seeing him sing on screen.
'The one thing that the fans might discover that they've never seen before is that I'm singing for the first time, I've always sung but more for myself and my friends. I've never sang officially in a film so this is going to be the first time that I'm singing in the movie and it happened quite organically actually. Because the format of the film is musical, Dada wanted me to come in and give it a shot and it seemed like it's stuck and it worked out so that's definitely a new thing for the fans to see me sing on the screen and that's going to be fun," he said.
Music plays a central role in this film, and Aditya's choice to sing was not pre-planned but happened 'organically.'
Directed by Anurag Basu, 'Metro…In Dino' features an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sensharma, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Saswata Chatterjee. The film will release in cinemas on July 4, 2025.

‘This is how she hugged me': Reddit co-founder uses AI to relive memories with his late mom
Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian recently shared an emotional post in which he used AI software Midjourney to recreate a cherished memory with his late mother. Known for being open about his family life with wife Serena Williams and daughters Olympia and Adira, Ohanian often shares personal moments online — but this post struck a deeper chord. Using Midjourney, a popular AI tool known for generating stylised visuals from text or image prompts, Ohanian uploaded an old photograph of himself with his mother and transformed it into a short animated clip showing the two embracing in a hug. The result: a deeply intimate visual that brought a still memory to life. Sharing the post on X, Ohanian wrote: 'Damn, I wasn't ready for how this would feel. We didn't have a camcorder, so there's no video of me with my mom. I dropped one of my favorite photos of us in Midjourney as 'starting frame for an AI video' and wow… This is how she hugged me. I've rewatched it 50 times.' The post, which has since garnered 23.4 million views and over 25 thousand likes, evoked a wave of emotional and ethical reactions online. Look at the post here: Damn, I wasn't ready for how this would feel. We didn't have a camcorder, so there's no video of me with my mom. I dropped one of my favorite photos of us in midjourney as 'starting frame for an AI video' and wow… This is how she hugged me. I've rewatched it 50 times. — Alexis Ohanian 🗽 (@alexisohanian) June 22, 2025 One user commented, 'Dunno bro. Kinda crossing the emotional Rubicon here. Sweet picture, don't get me wrong, but you guys are using AI to supplement things I don't think is intellectually or emotionally healthy to do.' Another added, 'Feels like I'm watching a bunch of people about to jump into a pit of despair following and worshipping the AI output.' Yet others responded with thoughtful reflection. One user shared, 'My dad died 2 years ago, and I'm still wading through his photobooks, VHS and 8mm of his travels & life… Debating on creating an AI-generated high-quality capsule highlight-reel. Ethical questions abound.' To this, Ohanian responded, 'I genuinely don't understand why you wouldn't use AI for this. Few hundred years ago, you'd have been burned as a witch for even having the video recordings.' A more supportive voice chimed in: 'Clearly, this speaks to a deeply rooted human need. Twenty years ago, no one would have asked for such a thing—but now that it exists, it resonates with something fundamental… AI has a way of soliciting its own use, subtly embedding itself into daily life.'

Sara Ali Khan's latest looks are serving major fashion inspiration. Bringing her A-game to the promotions of her upcoming film Metro... In Dono, she stepped out in an all-white ensemble, serving boss lady vibes. The 29-year-old looked elegant in a structured white pantsuit, making a bold statement that merges power dressing with grace. The fit featured a sharply tailored double-breasted blazer adorned with gold buttons, broad lapels, and a slight taper at the waist that added to the high-fashion silhouette. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sara Ali Khan (@saraalikhan95) The matching white trousers are perfectly flared towards the hem, complemented the striking appearance. The pants added a soft glow to the otherwise crisp outfit. Together, the pantsuit gives off an elegant vibe that is minimalist but serves boss lady vibes at the same time. For hair and makeup, Sara Ali Khan kept things simple. She opted for slicked-back hair in a neat ponytail, which goes well with her ensemble. The makeup is polished yet natural, with perfectly blushed cheeks and nude lips, which enhances her features. The pinkish-nude tones on her eyes complement the outfit. For accessories, she chose to wear gold earrings and metallic stilettos with a hint of gold and a pop of shimmer that complemented the monochrome outfit. Overall, Sara's look is rooted in simplicity but rich in detail, making this fit a hit! We can't wait to witness more sartorial wins from her in the days to come.
