What time is Novak Djokovic playing at Wimbledon today?

Yahoo19-07-2025
The 2025 Championships at Wimbledon are in full swing at the All England Club, where there have already been a number of eye-catching results thanks to an interesting opening week. Yet Novak Djokovic, a seven-time champion, has largely avoided drama in storming into the quarter-finals.
Although the Serb suffered from some stomach issues in his first-round tie with Alexandre Muller, he came through that test, before looking imperious in dismissing British hope Dan Evans.
Djokovic was again in sparkling form as he saw off compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic, and those results took him to the second week in SW19, where Alex de Minaur awaited. Again, Djokovic was seen clutching his stomach throughout, but he bounced back to beat the 11th seed in four frames after losing the first.
Who is next for Djokovic, as the quarter-finals arrive? Find out below.

Arsenal: Mikel Arteta 'open' to more transfers as Gunners retain interest in Eberechi Eze

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are open to doing more business before the transfer window closes. The Gunners have made six signings this summer so far, spending nearly £200million in the process. LIVE BLOG: All the latest transfer news and rumours Arteta, however, has refused to rule out more players coming through the door and Arsenal retain an interest in Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. Players could also leave Emirates Stadium before the window closes, with the likes of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson among those looking for new clubs. 'Let's see what happens, in terms of where the squad is in the next few weeks,' said Arteta. 'But, we are actively looking at options. 'As well, there are a few players that, maybe, they have to leave as well. So, we will be open to see what happens.' Arteta was speaking after Arsenal's final game of pre-season, which they won 3-0 against Athletic Club. Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring with his first goal in Arsenal colours and Bukayo Saka also struck before half-time. The win was sealed late on by Kai Havertz, who came off the bench to score a brilliant solo goal. 'I am very happy with what I see,' said Arteta. 'I think, individually, there was some big performances against a Champions League opponent. It's a good feeling. 'That first goal is always very important and the way he (Gyokeres) took it as well, was really, really good. 'We are developing certain connections with the new players. It was very good. Kai came in and I think the goal he scored was top, as well. 'Raising the level of everybody is going to really help us, because at that level, we are going to need our very best from everybody.'

Open season as Joint leads Aussie charge in Cincinnati

Teenage tennis sensation Maya Joint continues to fly the Australian flag in the US, powering her way into the third round of the Cincinnati Open. The 19-year-old overcame a mid-match wobble to put paid to 18th-seeded Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-4 4-6 6-4 on Saturday (local time). Joint proved much more effective on her first serve, landing 70 per cent of her first delivery compared with just 55 per cent for the Brazilian. In a match that featured a swag of break-point opportunities, Joint had a slight advantage, converting seven of the 19 chances she set up, compared with six of 17 for Haddad Maia. Never backing down 🌟Maya Joint completes an incredible match to defeat Haddad Maia in three sets!#CincyTennis — wta (@WTA) August 9, 2025 It was a superb win against the Brazilian, who is certainly no slouch, having won four tournaments in a career that has taken her to a highest ranking of No.10 in the world. Victory for Joint on the Cincinnati hard courts set up a third-round meeting with 12-seeded Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova. Joint reached a career-high singles ranking of No.37 last month and is currently Australia's No.2 behind Daria Kasatkina. Looking to join the 19-year-old in the third round in Cincinnati are fellow Aussies Kasatkina, Kimberly Birrell and Ajla Tomljanovic, who play their second-round matches on Sunday (local time). Kasatkina, seeded 15th in Cincinnati, is favoured to advance when she takes on Italy's Lucia Bronzetti. Birrell faces a daunting challenge, up against American fourth seed Jessica Pegula, who reached the final of last year's US Open. Tomljanovic will also have her hands full when she takes on Denmark's Clara Tauson, who beat major winners Iga Swiatek and Madison Keys on her way to the semi-finals of last week's Canadian Open. Swiatek bounced back from her shock loss to Tauson in Montreal by beating Russia's Anastasia Potapova 6-1 6-4 in the second round in Cincinnati on Saturday. The Polish superstar, winner of six major singles titles, powered through the first set, then had to fend off four break points in the second. She next plays Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk, who she has defeated in all three previous meetings, in the third round. Also through to the third round is British No.1 and 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu, who beat Serbia's Olga Danilovic 6-3 6-2. Incredible from Raducanu 🤩#CincyTennis — wta (@WTA) August 9, 2025 Australian Open winner Keys had a tougher start to her Cincinnati campaign, saving two match points to survive against German Eva Lys with a 1-6 6-3 7-6 (7-1) win to punch her ticket to the third round, where she will play Japan's Aoi Ito. "I just kept trying to listen to everyone here cheering me," said American Keys, who triumphed in 2019 and clinched Saturday's affair with an unreturnable forehand. "It helped me get back into the match and across the finish line." The Cincinnati Open is a vital lead-up to the year's final major, the US Open, played on the hard courts at Flushing Meadows in New York from August 24. - with Agencies

Emma Raducanu claims straight-sets win to reach Cincinnati Open third round

Emma Raducanu is through to the third round of the Cincinnati Open after a straight-sets win over Olga Danilovic. The British number one marked her first match since Rafael Nadal's former coach Francis Roig joined her team with a confident 6-3 6-2 victory. Roig may not have been overly impressed when Raducanu was broken to love in the first game, but the 2021 US Open champion responded well. After four breaks of serve between the pair in the opening six games, Raducanu came from 30-0 down to grab another for 5-3. She had won seven points in a row to bring up three set points and took the first with an ace. In the second, Raducanu gave her Serbian opponent nothing for free, drawing out errors and eventually earning a break for 3-2. She did not drop another game, wrapping up a fine victory in an hour and 20 minutes. The 22-year-old could face world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the third round in a repeat of her narrow Wimbledon defeat last month. Earlier, Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek eased through with a 6-1 6-4 victory over Anastasia Potapova. Australian Open champion Madison Keys saved two match points before beating Eva Lys 1-6 6-3 7-6 (1). In the ATP draw Jannik Sinner, playing his first match since claiming a maiden Wimbledon title, dismantled Daniel Elahi Galan 6-1 6-1.
