Aston Martin Valkyrie LM Gives Customers Their Own Le Mans Car
Just a week before its return to top-level racing at Le Mans, Aston Martin has revealed another version of its V-12-powered Valkyrie supercar. Called the Valkyrie LM, it's essentially just a customer variant of the Valkyrie that will race at the legendary 24-hour enduro, albeit with fewer regulatory restrictions.
Limited to just 10 examples, the Valkyrie LM will share the same chassis and bodywork as the car you'll see zipping around Circuit de la Sarthe on June 14. Underneath the skin, you'll find an identical double-wishbone suspension with pushrod torsion bar springs, alongside adjustable side and central dampers. It'll also have the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated, Cosworth-sourced V-12 engine, paired to the same seven-speed, paddle-shifted sequential transmission.

But while the Valkyries
destined for the WEC and IMSA
championships are restricted by ballasts and FIA-regulated electronics, the LM won't have either. Theoretically, it should be even quicker than the actual race cars, since it'll be lighter. The car will also be easier to run, with specific Pirelli slicks and a recalibration to run on readily available fuel.
Aston says it has reworked the cockpit interface for more casual track day use. There's a six-point, FIA-rated harness and a fire suppression system, along with a carbon fiber bucket seat, an integrated driver display, and, of course, shift lights.
'It is important to emphasise that the Valkyrie LM is close to identical to the race car that is currently competing in WEC and IMSA, with only a few minor deviations to ensure it is a non-homologated variant and is accessible for customers to experience and enjoy," says Adam Carter, Aston Martin's head of endurance motorsport. "Valkyrie LM represents the most authentic Hypercar track experience that is now available.'
Buyers of the Valkyrie LM will be able to take full possession of their cars, but if you're the type who prefers to arrive and drive, Aston Martin will offer a program where you can do just that, with all the transportation and crew support handled by the brand. The company will even supply driver coaches, classroom sessions, and data analysis as needed.

Aston Martin predicts first deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2026. At the end of that year, the company will invite all 10 owners to a "special evening" at its headquarters in Gaydon, England, which will include a fancy dinner.
There's no price available for the Valkyrie LM, though it's likely to cost a pretty penny, seeing as how the
normal Valkyrie
is a $3.2-million car.

Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City: Transfers TLDR
Manchester City have signed Tijjani Reijnders from Milan for an initial £46.6million ($62.9m) fee plus potential add-ons. The 26-year-old Netherlands international midfielder has signed a five-year contract. As part of this summer's transfer coverage on The Athletic, in addition to breaking news, tactical analysis and in-depth reads, our Transfers TLDR series (you can read them all here) will bring you a quick guide to each of the key deals. Football is in Reijnders' blood. His father, Martin, was a journeyman player largely in the Dutch league and his younger brother, Eliano, is a professional there now with PEC Zwolle. The siblings have both Dutch and Indonesian heritage and while Tijjani plays internationally for the Netherlands, 24-year-old Eliano has chosen to represent Indonesia. Advertisement Tijjani moved from PEC's academy to AZ's in 2017 before leaving his homeland two years ago to join Milan. He has four goals in 23 international appearances since making his senior debut in 2023, and last season was one of Serie A's leading midfielders, scoring 10 times in his 37 league games. Steve Madeley Reijnders is a forward-looking player who specialises in either carrying or passing the ball through opponents' lines of defence and, at 6ft 1in (185cm), he can punch his weight physically and athletically. Although he will often collect the ball in deep positions, he is not a natural defender, so City fans should not expect to see him flying into tackles on a regular basis. Steve Madeley Reijnders has the traits to succeed in a Pep Guardiola team. He is excellent at receiving passes in the defensive third and turning away from pressure, often going on lengthy runs forward to get his team on the front foot, as the graph shows. Reijnders added goals to his game last season with 15 for Milan across all competitions in 54 appearances. Whether that translates into the Premier League is up for debate. The 26-year-old's profile is closer to that of City midfield stalwarts Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan out of possession, in terms of positioning and the nature of supporting runs made. Bernardo and Gundogan will be 31 and 35 respectively by the end of October and they both struggled with the pace of the Premier League last season, making Reijnders a necessary summer addition. His defensive game was criticised at Milan but should initially be offset by having a fit-again Rodri playing behind him. Anantaajith Raghuraman Since the start of the 2021-22 season, Reijnders has played in 140 of 146 league games for AZ and Milan without suffering an injury. Anantaajith Raghuraman Frank Rijkaard, his legendary fellow Dutchman, who also starred for Milan before later managing Barcelona and the Netherlands' national team, told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this year: 'I hope that Reijnders becomes one of the best midfielders in the world, but I sincerely believe he's already on the right path. Advertisement 'He can cover all roles in the midfield and shows his generosity: he never holds back from a run for the team and always gives his best. With the quality he has, he's excellent at creating dangerous chances for his teammates and setting up the play well.' Steve Madeley Reijnders has joined City on a five-year contract, ending in June 2030. The Milan midfielder commanded an initial £46.6m fee, becoming the club's 17th-most expensive signing. There are add-ons in the deal which could take that figure higher. Through signing now, a small amount of the overall fee hits City's 2024-25 financials, alongside just under three weeks' worth of his wages (City also pay other employment-related costs, such as national insurance, on top of that). Chris Weatherspoon Assuming agent fees at 10 per cent, Reijnders' transfer adds £528,000 to City's costs for 2024-25. Thereafter, this deal will cost them £10.1m per year in transfer fee amortisation, up to the end of the 2029-30 season. Reijnders' weekly salary at City is unknown, but it will be enough to ensure the cost to them over the next five years goes beyond the estimated £51.2m in transfer and agent fees. On the selling side, Milan have more than doubled the reported €25million (£21.1m/$28.6m at current rates) they paid AZ for him two years ago. Reijnders signed a new contract just this March and, with an estimated book value of around £15m, the Serie A club are making a significant accounting profit. Not all of the fee will go to them, as The Athletic has confirmed AZ are due a percentage of Milan's profit on the deal. The size of that sell-on clause is unknown but, unless it exceeds 10 per cent, Milan stand to make at least £29million in accounting profit by selling the Dutchman. Chris Weatherspoon

Man City signs Reijnders from AC Milan to complete $150M spending spree
Manchester City concluded a $150 million spending spree ahead of the Club World Cup by announcing the signing of Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on Wednesday. The 26-year-old Reijnders moved for an initial fee of 55 million euros ($63 million) and is the second midfielder — after France playmaker Rayan Cherki — to join City in the special June 1-10 transfer window created to allow sides in the 32-team Club World Cup to reshape their squads. City paid Lyon $41 million for Cherki and also signed Algeria left back Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton for $42 million. After deciding not to push to sign Florian Wirtz — the Germany playmaker is close to joining Liverpool, according to reports in the British media — City has spent around the same amount on three players. Add this latest splurge to an outlay of more than $200 million in the winter transfer window and City has already spent at least $350 million on players in 2025 to provide manager Pep Guardiola with a squad capable of reclaiming the Premier League title from Liverpool. Breakthrough season Reijnders has just been named as the best midfielder in Serie A after a breakthrough campaign in which he scored 15 goals and added five assists across all competitions for Milan, which endured a dismal season and failed to qualify for Europe. He joined Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for a fee of around 20 million euros (then $22.4 million) and recently signed a contract extension through to June 2030. That's the length of his contract at City, too. City is releasing De Bruyne to end his 10-year stint at the club and now has Reijnders and Cherki to link up with Rodri in an enticing midfield set-up. Reijnders said he was 'ecstatic' to be joining City. 'It is also a dream come true to play in the Premier League,' he said. 'This league has seen many of the best Dutch players perform through the years and it's an inspiration to follow in their footsteps.' City director of football Hugo Viana said Reijnders — who specializes in being a ball-carrying midfielder — will add 'extra energy, composure and creativity to our midfield.' City announced the transfer of Reijnders a day after the special transfer window closed but appears to have signed him in time for him to play in the new-look, 32-team Club World Cup, which starts on Saturday. City is in the same group as Juventus, Al Ain and Wydad Casablanca and its first match is on June 18. ___ AP soccer:
