‘Anybody Got Any Idea What These Are?' Mechanic Works on a Customer's Truck. Then He Sees Something Unusual on the Tire
A mechanic is working to patch a tire on a customer's truck when he notices something unusual. He doesn't recognize the tiny pieces of apparent plastic that caused the damage.
TikTok user @sh*ttytire is a mechanic based in North Mississippi who posted a video asking for help identifying his discovery on Wednesday. In the video, he reveals that he is working on the truck of a customer who came in to resolve a flat tire. 'Anybody got any idea what these are?' he says to start the video.
He explains that there are about five or six of the pieces embedded in the woman's tire. 'They're just sharp pieces of plastic,' he says. 'All the same shape and size. Just weird. I'm just not 100% sure what they could be.'
There Is One Important Clue to The Mystery
The mechanic says the woman told him she likely drove over the pieces when traveling down an old gravel road. 'I just never seen nothing like that,' he says.
In the comments section, viewers engaged in a heated debate over whether the mysterious objects were nails broken off from a
horseshoe
or a
truss plate
, which is a piece of metal with spikes used in home construction. Others pointed out that it's not likely that the mechanic is correct in identifying the material as plastic.
'They're not truss plate spikes,' wrote one person. 'Those are tire puncture spikes and they kind of look like that old thing from the toy jacks. When you run over the piece [it] breaks off in your tire and that's what the piece that breaks off looks like.'
The commenter continued, 'They have like five or six of those sticking off of it so most likely they were deliberately put out on a road or it was a place people have been driving and they're not supposed to.'
What are 'Tire Puncture Spikes'?
A
spike strip
is a device used by law enforcement and military personnel to stop fleeing vehicles. When a car drives over the strip, tiny spikes embed into its tires. The tires deflate after a short period of time, rendering the vehicle disabled.
Use of the spike strip to protect private property, however, is a murky legal area. Attorney George Khoury
notes
that while you might technically be able to fulfill your 'Home Alone' fantasy, it could potentially come along with some serious consequences. For instance, if your booby trap seriously injured someone, you could be liable for damages.
Of course, just because something isn't advisable doesn't automatically mean
no one will do it
. Stay safe out there, folks.

FIFA start investigation into Pachuca player amid Antonio Rudiger racism allegations
Real Madrid saw their Club World Cup victory over Pachuca overshadowed by allegations of racism made by Antonio Rudiger, and FIFA have now taken the next step in their efforts to discover the truth of the situation. UEFA looking into Gustavo Cabral as part of investigation During the match in Charlotte, Rudiger claimed that Gustavo Cabral had called him a 'black s***'. These allegations were denied by the Pachuca player, but the FIFA protocol on these matters was activated. An investigation was started, and now it has been reported by COPE (via Sport), that Cabral is being looked into by world football's governing body. Image via Paul Ellis/AFP Advertisement FIFA are determined to get to the bottom of things, which is why their investigation has progressed in the last 24 hours. It has not been ruled out that witnesses, such as those involved in the match for either side, will be called to testify. But for now, no definitive decision has been made. Real Madrid are standing behind Rudiger in this matter, whom they believe wholeheartedly. And it's not the first time that they have had to do so with one of their players, with superstar winger Vinicius Junior having been subjected to racist abuse on several occasions over the last few years. It is not clear when a resolution will come, with FIFA determined to ensure that everything is looked into before they make their decision. It is unlikely that it will happen in the coming days, and there is no reason for anything to be rushed given that Pachuca have already been knocked out of the Club World Cup, so any punishment that comes the way of Cabral would not have an effect on the ongoing tournament. For now, the investigation that FIFA are undertaking is ongoing, and will remain that way until a definitive outcome is reached.

Police agencies across Western Washington warn of text scams
Multiple police agencies across Western Washington posted on social media this week, warning communities to look out for toll road text scams. The scammers send texts claiming to be from the DMV, the 'Seattle Vehicle Administration,' or Good To Go!, claiming that the user owes toll money and will face penalties if they do not pay via a link in the text. Police are warning people NOT to click these links. Back in March, KIRO 7 spoke to a Washington couple who wanted to warn the public after they lost more than $23,000 to the scam. 'They're good. They're really good. That chick knew everything. She said the right things and reassured us we were doing the right thing, and the whole time we weren't,' they said. The scammer used personal details to lead the couple into losing thousands. 'If you have any doubts at all, hang up and call the institution directly,' they said. As a reminder, WSDOT never texts toll notices, uses web addresses ending in '. and only sends reminders through mail or an official account. If you get a text from one of these scammers, Des Moines PD advises you not to reply, block the caller, and don't reply. You can also report the message as junk/spam. If concerned, you can check your account by visiting directly or by calling WSDOT. Here's a roundup of the local police agency posts:

General Motors Company (GM)'s CEO Should Be Worried, Says Jim Cramer
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) is one of the . General Motors Company (NYSE:GM), along with Ford, has struggled in 2025 primarily due to worries of a trade war disrupting the firm's supply chain. Its shares have lost 6% year-to-date primarily due to the firm's extensive supply chain reliance on Mexico. Cramer has noticed this vulnerability in his previous appearances and pointed out that General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) is in a worse position than Ford. His other comments have revolved around the firm and Ford suffering from President Trump rolling back EV policies of the Biden administration which led to General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) investing in EV infrastructure. His recent remarks about the firm asserted that it should continue to worry about trade tensions even if other companies were being relaxed: 'There's a little bit of a disconnect. If I were the. . .CEO of GM, I'd be worried.' In his earlier thoughts about General Motors Company (NYSE:GM), Cramer speculated that perhaps there was some juice in the stock after its beating in 2025: A group of technicians in a garage, inspecting car parts and ensuring safety compliance. 'Right well first if you wanna try to make money make off, you're a trader, it's General Motors, which had the most problems. . .four billion dollar shifts production from Mexico. So that's a clear ramp to 53 I think.'
