Thierry Henry says ‘a lot of clubs' want ex-Arsenal team-mate to be next manager

Thierry Henry hailed former Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas for his impressive debut season in management with Como, claiming "a lot of clubs" are interested in the Spaniard
Thierry Henry praised the coaching abilities of his former team-mate Cesc Fabregas, warning that Como will face a fight to keep him this summer as several European teams are "coming for him". Henry and Fabregas enjoyed a successful spell together at Arsenal, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield and reaching the Champions League final in 2006.
Since then, both have ventured into football management, with Henry beginning his coaching career at Arsenal's academy before going on to take charge of Monaco, Montreal Impact and France's Olympics squad, as well as serving as Belgium's assistant across multiple spells.

Meanwhile, Fabregas took his first steps in coaching at Como in 2023, leading their under-19 and B-teams. As shareholders in the Serie A club, both former Gunners have a vested interest in the team's success.

Fabregas was appointed head coach last summer and guided the team to a remarkable 10th-place finish this season. Como's surge in the latter half of the season propelled them from the threat of relegation to the top half of the table.
The Spaniard's impressive managerial debut has caught the attention of many European clubs, with Henry suggesting that Como will need to work hard to retain the former Arsenal star's services in Italy this summer.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Henry heaped praise on his old team-mate for his managerial success at Como, and hinted that several top clubs could come in for Fabregas.
Henry, who himself invested in Como 1907 a few years back, said: "I invested in Como 1907, and we did well this season. Cesc Fabregas did very well, and I have to give him a lot of credit.
"Not to go into too much detail, but a lot of clubs, I think, are coming for him. There are rumours of AC Milan and Roma. I think he must be the first coach in history that has shares in the club that he coaches."

Henry hailed Fabregas' intellect and insisted that many others would wish they could share his approach to the game. He added: "Cesc was always a thinker.
"When he arrived at Arsenal, the way he broke into the team and how he was thinking about the game – I always said, there is a difference between playing the game and thinking about the game, and he's a thinker.
"When you speak to him, you can speak to him for hours about football."
