'Anora,' Adrien Brody and the full Oscars recap
USA TODAY's Ralphie Aversa recaps the 97th Academy Awards from Los Angeles, where 'Anora' was the night's big winner.
It's the night we wait for all awards season: the Oscars.
The stars wowed in their most opulent fashions on the red carpet and host Conan O'Brien dished out jokes from Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. And then came time for the envelopes and the 24-karat gold-plated statuettes. The unique musical "Emilia Pérez" went into the night with 13 nominations, and took home two wins. 'The Brutalist' and 'Wicked' had 10 nods each, and left with three and two wins, respectively.
Sunday truly belonged to a woman named "Anora." The independent film starring Mikey Madison walked away with five Oscars – the most of the evening – including honors for best actress, best director and the night's biggest prize of best picture.
To see everyone who won – including Kieran Culkin ("A Real Pain") and Zoe Saldaña ("Emilia Pérez") – keep scrolling.

Diddy told Cassie's friend 'I'm the devil and I could kill you,' she testifies

Among the disturbing allegations emerging from Sean "Diddy" Combs' ongoing criminal trial is a statement the hip-hop mogul supposedly said to one of Cassie Ventura Fine's friends years ago. Bryana "Bana" Bongolan testified June 4 that she was doing an impromptu beach photoshoot with Ventura Fine and a photographer friend one day when Combs went up to her and issued a threat. "He came really close to my face and said, 'I'm the devil and I could kill you,'" she told the court. She admitted she was likely high on cocaine at the time. Regardless, she "was terrified" and unsure why Combs said that to her. Bongolan's remarks came on the 20th day of Combs' trial, which kicked off with jury selection on May 5. During her time on the stand, which will continue into a second day of cross-examination, Bongolan also detailed a 2016 incident in which Combs allegedly held her up on Ventura Fine's 17th-floor balcony and balanced her on the railing, making her think that she might fall. The event was first described in Ventura Fine's 2023 lawsuit, and Bongolan filed her own suit seeking $10 million in damages from Combs a year later. Bongolan told the court she'd first met Ventura Fine in the mid-2010s while working at a streetwear company called Diamond Supply Company, where the latter had been tapped to design a clothing line. She didn't meet Combs until about a year into their friendship, Bongolan said, but she knew she "wasn't fond of what I was seeing" in his relationship with Ventura Fine. She didn't really want to meet him, she testified. Bongolan also said that during a FaceTime before "The Perfect Match" premiere, she witnessed the black eye Ventura Fine allegedly suffered from Combs assaulting her in the hallway of the InterContinental Hotel in May 2016. "I was pretty quiet. I remember saying, 'I'm sorry.' She was also pretty quiet," Bongolan testified. Federal prosecutors claim Combs led a "criminal enterprise" that operated on sex trafficking, kidnapping, drug offenses and forced labor, among other crimes. Combs leveraged his wealth and celebrity status to "fulfill his sexual desires" in a "recurrent and widely known" pattern of abuse, investigators allege. He faces two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and one count of racketeering. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Taylor Swift Is Living in ‘Fear' of Alleged Stalker, Files Restraining Order

Taylor Swift took legal action against an alleged stalker, getting a restraining order after living in 'fear' of possible danger. On June 6, the pop singer filed for a temporary restraining order against a man who repeatedly visited her home over the year and insisted they share a personal connection. The Los Angeles Superior Court granted Swift the protective order on Monday. USA Today reviewed the court documents, which revealed the individual to be Brian Jason Wagner from Colorado. In the filings, she also raised concerns about her safety. USA Today shared key details from Taylor Swift's restraining order filing against her alleged stalker. Reportedly, the individual in question, Brian Jason Wagner, visited her house several times over a year, with the first instance dating back to July 9, 2024. He then returned twice that same month. More recently, Wagner made two consecutive appearances on May 21 and May 22, and asked to see Swift 'personally' after 'stating that he was there checking on a friend (again, this is entirely untrue).' In her petition to the court, the Grammy winner revealed that she had been living in 'a fear of imminent harm.' She alleged that Wagner repeatedly visited her house and engaged in 'concerning and threatening' conversations with her staff, prompting her to file for the protective order. Swift further mentioned that she has never 'publicly' revealed the location of her Los Angeles home or address. Therefore, Wagner's repeated visits, refusal to leave, and claims of needing access make her 'fear for my safety and the safety of my family.' Taylor Swift's alleged stalker also made false claims about sharing a personal relationship and a son with her. Moreover, the restraining order filings stated that Wagner made disturbing statements during his visits. These falsified comments included claims about 'living' at her LA property, sharing a 'relationship' with her, and 'believing' she was his son's mother. Swift called these 'untrue and disconnected from reality.' Her claims also mentioned the staff receiving hundreds of emails from him. Swift's restraining order ensures her safety and prohibits Wagner from 'harassing, stalking, assaulting, or disturbing' her. Additionally, it prevents him from communicating or coming within 100 yards of the pop star, her home, her vehicle, and her workplace. The order will remain effective through the court hearing on June 30. The post Taylor Swift Is Living in 'Fear' of Alleged Stalker, Files Restraining Order appeared first on Reality Tea.

Diddy trial updates: Sean Combs' ex Jane faces cross-examination after harrowing testimony Show Caption Hide Caption Witness Jane 'shocked' when she heard of Cassie's 2023 Diddy lawsuit Sean "Diddy" Combs' ex-girlfriend who goes by Jane testified that she was shocked when she learned of Cassie Ventura Fine's bombshell 2023 lawsuit. This story contains graphic descriptions that some readers may find disturbing. A former girlfriend of Sean "Diddy" Combs is sharing more revelations from the pair's allegedly tumultuous relationship during the rapper's ongoing criminal trial. Combs' sweeping federal sex-crimes case resumed in Manhattan court on June 10 after the woman testifying under the pseudonym "Jane" concluded her harrowing testimony about the music mogul's alleged abuse. She is expected to undergo cross-examination during Wednesday's hearing. Prosecutors highlighted Jane's reluctance to participate in Combs' debaucherous "hotel nights," during which she was allegedly pressured to have sex with several men consecutively. "I don't want to be used and locked in a room to fulfill your fantasies," Jane wrote in a message to Combs shown in court. Jane also said she fainted when she learned that Combs' other ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Fine, sued Combs in November 2023 on allegations he raped, trafficked, sexually assaulted and physically abused her. Jane told the court she felt "like I'm reading my own sexual trauma" as she pored over Cassie's lawsuit. Combs, 55, was arrested in September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty. Combs is facing federal sex-crimes and trafficking charges in a sprawling case that has eroded his status as a power player and kingmaker in the entertainment industry. He was arrested in September and later charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. The rapper has pleaded not guilty to the five counts against him. Using RICO law, which is typically aimed at targeting multi-person criminal organizations, prosecutors allege that Combs coerced victims, some of whom they say were sex workers, through intimidation and narcotics to participate in "freak offs" — sometimes dayslong sex performances that federal prosecutors allege they have video of. The trial will not be televised, as cameras are typically not allowed in federal criminal trial proceedings. USA TODAY will be reporting live from the courtroom.
