Conor Coady to Rangers transfer talks opened with Leicester as one decision set to clear route to Ibrox
Rangers have opened talks with Leicester City over a move for Conor Coady.
Record Sport broke the story on Friday and now the Light Blues have asked about his availability.
Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell is a big fan of the England international and previously signed him for Everton. The Ibrox side has now asked to see if a deal can be struck.

The 32-year-old still has a year left on his contract at Leicester but will have to take a cut after their relegation to the Championship.
The situation is further complicated as there remains a major question mark over the long-term future of Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Foxes will want to cut their wage bill and it depends if Coady is one that they would want to move on or keep to spearhead their push to get back to the Premier League.

Rangers wouldn't be able to get near his current wages but could offer a long-term deal and the chance to compete for trophies and European football.
Rangers have also made Israeli international Dor Turgeman a top target.
Record Sport revealed that Thelwell had also targeted the £4million-rated Maccabi Tel Aviv striker.

Turgeman is currently away with Israel on international duty but Thelwell is pushing ahead on that front also.
Rangers are ready to free up funds by letting Dutch defender Robin Propper return to Twente Enschede.
New Rangers boss Russell Martin is also a long-term fan of his former Swansea defender Harry Darling.

The centre half is set to become a free agent and has a string of options but the Ibrox side aren't currently in the fight.
