49ers gifted Celtic transfer playbook and instant Rangers manoeuvre shows new rules are in effect

Gordon Strachan reckons that 49ers Enterprises should conduct their transfer deals exactly like Celtic. And Rangers' new American owners may have already picked up that lesson amid ongoing talks over a sale of Hamza Igamane. Andrew Cavenagh and the investment wing of the NFL giants took charge of the Scottish Premiership side - with the 49ers doubling up on their ownership of Leeds United. READ MORE: Be Afraid Rangers, Be Very Afraid as arrogant English sent Celtic wake up call after £20m dig on the Hotline READ MORE: Rangers warned Dor Turgeman comes with a 'fairytale' transfer fee as Igamane interest surges and a mentor steps in And former Leeds' player and Celtic boss Strachan has urged chairman Paraag Marathe and the Elland Road decision-makers to follow Celtic's player trading model. Nicolas Kuhn's £3million arrival in Glasgow's east end from Austrian side Rapid Vienna after a nomadic career turbo-charged his career before a £17.2million move to Como is the latest example of the player-trading model in motion. Discussing Leeds' chances in the Premier League after promotion, Strachan told OLBG : 'Ipswich spent a lot last year and went down, with Leeds there's no doubt they got in financial difficulties and they had to do a lot of work last year. 'I don't think Leeds United will put themselves in that position again because if you're the custodian of the club, the owners, you cannot put the club at risk. "I think the players that they have got to get cannot be on £300,000 a week. I think that there was a bit of that which happened a couple of years ago and there was definitely worries in the Leeds camp that they might have overstretched themselves. 'They will not overstretch themselves again. So that has to go down to player development. "If you look at Celtic, for instance, over the last four, five, six, seven years, they buy players in low, develop them and sell them for six, seven, eight times they come in. I think that's what's got to happen with Leeds." And the 49ers are currently trying to maximise the profit on Igamane - who arrived at Ibrox in a £1.7m move from AS FAR last summer. Rangers are standing firm on their £15million valuation of the striker amid ongoing talks with Lille - with the French side now reportedly "struggling" to get a deal over the line. Everton are among the suitors now showing interest with the door opening - with Udinese and Feyenoord on alert. Igamane could jolt the new look player-trading model into life - with Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Dor Turgeman understood to be among the contenders to replace the Morocco international. Huge blow as Rangers told only a ‘FAIRYTALE OFFER' will be enough to seal key transfer target Dor Turgeman

His boss has told suitors exactly what type of offer will be required for his services TOP TUR-GET Huge blow as Rangers told only a 'FAIRYTALE OFFER' will be enough to seal key transfer target Dor Turgeman RANGERS transfer target Dor Turgeman has been labelled a 'football beast' by current boss Zarko Laztic. The Light Blues have been watching the forward for months now, but the Serbian Laztic has warned Rangers they will have to spend big to get their man. Advertisement 2 Dor Turgeman has been watched by Rangers for months Credit: Getty 2 But the move could rely on one, or both of Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers being sold Credit: Willie Vass He was quoted saying Maccabi Tel Aviv would only sell the 21-year-old if a 'fairytale offer' was made, according to Sport1. The Israeli international bagged 20 goals last season as well as six assists, which put Rangers on high alert. Rangers already have EIGHT new faces at Ibrox, as well welcoming back four loanees, with Russell Martin making his mark on the squad before the Gers crucial Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos. Turgeman is said to want the move to Rangers, but it all hangs on Rangers letting go of one or both of Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane. Advertisement Lille are not giving up on the Moroccan, whilst Rennes and Everton have reportedly entered the frame for the striker. Rennes have already lost ex-Celtic hero Kyogo to Birmingham City this summer, and now look likely to lose star man Arnaud Kalimuendo so will need to bolster their front line and are considering Igamane, according to footmercato. David Moyes has lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin from his squad too, so he will also be looking to strengthen his Everton sides attacking options, and the same report claims Igamane is a target. It looked to only be a matter of time before Igamane joined Lille but Rangers held firm in their asking price. Advertisement The player is said to be keen on the move away from Ibrox too. He scored 16 goals in 46 matches for Rangers last season, notably a late winner at Celtic Park against their city rivals in the first derby with away fans since the lockout, which the Light Blues won 3-2. Rangers hero in with fans at Celtic game Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande also scored that day, with the midfield pair also attracting interest and could also net the Gers a hefty fee. However with Rangers Champions League qualifier just days away, it seems unlikely any big moves will happen before the key first-leg. Rangers change tack as they ‘weigh up offer for Dor Turgeman's TEAM MATE' – dubbed the ‘Brazilian magician' by fans

But a new report claims the Ibrox club are preparing to submit a bid for one of his TEAM MATES. The Israeli national team striker could be available for around £5million but as yet, no official offer has been submitted to Maccabi Tel Aviv. But as progress stalls on that front, a stunning development has seen Russell Martin's recruitment team reportedly change tack - pivoting to Turgeman's Brazilian team mate, Weslley Patati. The 21-year-old has been dubbed the 'Brazilian magician' by fans and media in Israel after scoring 13 goals in 39 games across all competitions for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, adding a further ten assists. Patati joined the Israeli giants from Santos in his homeland last year in a move worth around £1.2m. He had only made a handful of senior appearances for Santos after coming through their youth system but after an impressive first season abroad, he has attracted the attention of several scouts across Europe and beyond. According to Israeli sports media outlet ONE, Rangers have been monitoring the situation and are now debating lodging a formal bid. Patati reportedly already has interest from clubs in the Netherlands, Spain and England, with AZ Alkmaar of the Eredivisie and Girona of LA Liga mentioned by publications in Israel and South America. Al Ain and Al Wahda of the UAE have also been credited with having made enquiries. Contrary to some other reports here in Scotland, no outlets in South America have reported that Gers are weighing up a move for the winger. Only the report from ONE cites the Light Blues as being interested in the former Santos starlet. New Rangers chiefs Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe's first interview It's reported that Maccabi Tel Aviv have already received offers of around £3m for the winger but they are holding out for at least £5m according to Jogada10 - if not much more. Santos still own a substantial portion of the player's rights, complicating the negotiations. The Brazilian giants still hold 40 percent of Patati's economic rights, effectively meaning they would be due almost half of the final transfer fee. Sport Witness claim Maccabi want the bidding to start at £8.6m, a number that may put him beyond Rangers' reach. Indeed, such a move would make Patati the second-most expensive signing in the club's history. It would also go against the type of approach the new American owners vowed to take in their first year in Scottish football, with Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe both on record as saying they see the Rangers project as a steady build, not an overnight gold rush. Patati can play anywhere across the front line but was particularly used as a right winger, the position vacated by Vaclav Cerny when his loan spell at Rangers expired at the end of the campaign. 4 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Dor Turgeman to Rangers fee 'agreed' as mega money Dessers 'push' can unlock transfer amid Igamane standoff

The transfer merry-go-round is in motion at Ibrox amid the search for a new striker Rangers have reportedly told Maccabi Tel Aviv they are willing to meeting their asking price for Dor Turgeman. However, a deal is said to be on hold until after the Scottish Premiership side can offload either Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane. ‌ Record Sport first revealed the Maccabi Tel Aviv man is a target for the Light Blues as Russell Martin looks to strengthen ahead of a new era at Ibrox. ‌ Israeli outlet 5 Sport report that Rangers are "willing to pay" the £5million asking price that Maccabi have placed on the frontman. But he may be facing a nervous wait over his future with Record Spor t revealing that Lille have been spooked by the Light Blues' £15million valuation of Moroccan striker Igamane. The French side are ready to switch their sights to fresh targets - but the departure of last season's top scorer Dessers could also clear a path for a move. AEK Athens remain keen on the Nigeria striker having lodged a £4.5million bid earlier this week. Feyenoord are also said to be keen on a deal for Dessers - but reports in Greece now suggest that AEK are launching a final effort to bring in the frontman. ‌ Voira report that a fresh "push" is being prepare to bring in the frontman with the club prepared to raise their offer to apply "pressure" to the Ibrox side. Sport Time claim that the contract that would be handed to Dessers is £1.5million per year but AEK still view him as a "significant" summer target. ‌ Earlier this month, Turgeman made it clear that he was hoping to leave Maccabi and take the next step in Europe. He said: "Right now I'm here (at Maccabi). Of course everyone wants to fulfil their dream in Europe and we'll see what happens. I'm ready to take on the next challenge." Rangers' pursuit of Dor Turgeman ‘hits major snag' – due to Israel-Iran conflict

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS' pursuit of Israeli striker Dor Turgeman has been dealt an additional complication due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, a report has claimed. We told you last week how the Ibrox side remain very much in the hunt for £4m-rated striker. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 3 Dor Turgeman in action for Israel Credit: Reuters 3 Dor Turgeman of Israel (L)in action Credit: EPA But talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv appear to have hit an impasse - and a report in Israeli outlet Sport5 claims that's because the ongoing Israel and Iran troubles have caused Maccabi to rethink their transfer policy. Due to the issues with attracting foreign players to their country, instead Champions League qualifying entrants have hiked up transfer values on their stars as they focus on keeping their top Israeli players at the club. That includes Turgeman and Roy Revivo. Revivo, Sport5 claimed, was close to joining Copenhagen, only for the Danes to end up shelving their interest in the player when the escalating transfer cost was deemed to be too prohibitive. Incidentally, Tel Aviv are one of five teams who could face Celtic in a Champions League playoff clash this season. And their efforts to establish and maintain a native core this summer include attempts to keep other key Israeli stars Idan Nahmias, Gabi Kanikovsky and Stan Lemkin. The Ibrox side, meanwhile, are also preparing contract talks with top asset Nico Raskin. New Ibrox boss Russell Martin wants to build his team around the Belgian midfield dynamo. Raskin is approaching the final two years of his current deal — and a growing number of clubs are looking at him. The Belgium international cost £1.75million when arriving from Standard Liege in January 2023 and his value is soaring. Ally McCoist confesses to 'horrendous' epic fail ahead of final day of Rangers legend's charity bike ride Both sporting director Kevin Thelwell and the club's new US owners are determined to construct a far better transfer model. And they recognise there's a need to protect the club's interests while rewarding Raskin with increased terms. 3 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
