Breaking Bad – Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul's series isn't a gangster show, but many of its villains fit that description, including the main character, Walter White. When it first aired in 2008, the series changed TV forever by telling a crime story that was bold, detailed and creative. It follows a regular American family whose life takes a dark turn when they get involved with the drug mafia. Even though it moves slowly and focuses a lot on family problems, it has a number of dark moments, which makes it the most popular TV series ever.
Sons of Anarchy – The show follows the life of a motorcycle club members in a town called Charming, California. While it ran for seven seasons, it got a bit repetitive. But the earlier seasons were full of action and strong drama. The story focuses on Jax Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam, a biker trying to clean up his father's club and remove its connection with crime. The show has violence and family drama, which makes it exciting watch.
The Sopranos – If The Godfather is known as the best gangster movie, then David Chase's hit holds the top spot for gangster TV shows. Many call it one of the greatest TV dramas ever made. The story follows Tony Soprano, an Italian American crime boss from New Jersey, who struggles with panic attacks and starts seeing a psychiatrist for help. Like Francis Ford Coppola's film, the show mixes family moments with complicated crime stories. James Gandolfini's powerful performance instantly grabs your attention and leaves your jaws dropped.
Narcos – The Netflix series focuses on the life of Pablo Escobar, showing how he built one of the world's biggest drug empires. It shows him as a complex person, sometimes seen caring for others, but never hides the reality of his violent actions. Wagner Moura gained worldwide praise for playing Escobar, and the series also gave rise to actors like Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal. After Escobar's story ended, the drama followed other drug cartels in the business.
Gangs of London – It's a gripping action drama that tells the story of a global gang war taking place in the UK's capital city. Created by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, the show has powerful acting and intense fight scenes. The story follows Sean, played by Joe Cole, who takes over his family's legacy after his father is killed. His mission is to find the person responsible for his father's death while dealing with rival gangs from different parts of the world. This is fresh, fast-paced and filled with tension.

Ginny and Georgia review: High Stakes, Higher Emotions

When Ginny and Georgia first dropped on Netflix in 2021, comparisons to Gilmore Girls was inevitable. By Season 2, Ginny and Georgia began carving out its own identity. However, it stumbled by pouring too much screen time into peripheral characters, leaving the titular duo in the shadows. With Season 3, the series puts forward its best storyline yet as a murder trial takes centre stage. The drama is dialled up, the stakes are high, and this time, the spotlight stays firmly on Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia (Brianne Howey). In the very first episode of Season 3, Max (Sara Waisglass) quips, 'This is not even a podcast,' as she dismisses the seriousness of Georgia's murder trial and questions her guilt. At first, we're led to believe, much like Max, that the trial will simply serve as a subplot. But as the season unfolds, the trial takes over the narrative with such intensity and flair that it could very well be its own limited series. While mental health took centre stage in Season 2, Ginny and Georgia Season 3 truly levels up in its portrayal of emotional complexity. Ginny's struggle with self-harm remains a central thread, but this time, Marcus' (Felix Mallard) quiet battle with depression is woven just as thoughtfully into the narrative. The show doesn't stop there; characters like Max, Austin (Diesel La Torroca), and even Georgia peel back their layers, revealing raw vulnerabilities that make their stories feel all too real.

Pop goes India

Two decades, hundreds of chart-toppers, and a truckload of Grammys later, American hitmaker Savan Kotecha is hitting rewind—and heading back to his roots. He's written for Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, One Direction—and now, he's coming home to make pop dreams come true in India. The songwriter and record producer is setting his sights on something he's never done before: launching India's first global boy band. Kotecha is looking to inspire a whole new generation of Indian youth—by giving them the tools, stage, and spotlight to become international pop stars. Born to Gujarati parents from Uganda and raised in the US, Kotecha has always carried a piece of India with him. Now, he's channelling that love through his company, Outwrite, co-founded with Aayushman Sinha (the force behind Indian talent firm Represent) and seasoned Artists and Repertoire executive Murtuza Gadiwala. Their goal? To build a 'global hub' for songwriters, producers, musicians, and engineers right here in India. Think: a support system for India's creative minds to thrive on a global stage. Kotecha says the idea stemmed from noticing a visible gap in the Indian music industry where many stakeholders aren't aware of their rights and how music publishing works. 'There's a lot of talent in India. I want to encourage young people to get into music and to see themselves as new pop artistes that represent India rather than having to look outside the country for those people,' he says. This becomes an important move at a time when stolen songs, credits has been a pressing issue for the industry for many decades now.

"Yeah, it's been long enough. I think everyone's in agreement. You have to be active and being stripped. It doesn't mean like you're not skilled or nothing. It just means you're not active, which he would have to admit if he's being honest, he hasn't been active," Blaydes said.
