NEW YORK CITY - Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will be the biggest event of the NFL season, appealing to both die-hard sports fans and those clamoring for the commercials.
And this year is no different, with a host of celebrities appearing in TV ads during the Super Bowl, including Matthew McConaughey, Post Malone and Chris Hemsworth.
Here's a sneak peek at some of the ads that focus on the New York City area.
NYU Langone Health's new Super Bowl commercial features former New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz.
In the commercial, Cruz playfully suggests that the doctors stick to medicine, yet the underlying message is clear: teamwork is as essential in healthcare as it is on the football field.
FOX 5 NY's Dan Bowens got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look, where Cruz shared insights into the parallels between being part of a Super Bowl-winning team and leading a team of top-tier medical professionals.
Saquon Barkley, the former Giants' running back currently playing with the Eagles, is featured in a commercial for CURE Auto Insurance, answering questions at a mock press conference.
Actors Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan reunite in a new Hellmann's Mayonnaise ad to recreate a famous scene from their popular 1989 romantic comedy, "When Harry Met Sally."
The commercial starts with Crystal and Ryan returning to a New York City deli for lunch, and Crystal saying, "I can't believe they let us back in this place," as Ryan responded with "nobody remembers that."
Ryan admits to feeling unsatisfied with her food until she adds some Hellmann's Mayonnaise. Later in the commercial, "White Lotus" actress Sydney Sweeney makes a surprise appearance and recites a famous line from the film.
Elmo pairs up with Roger Federer for a commercial for On shows, where the tennis legend has to explain to the confused "Sesame Street" star which letters are actually on the sneakers.
Uber Eats is debuting two separate celebrity commercials during Super Bowl LIX.
The first ad features Charli XCX and Martha Stewart. The two take part in the "We listen and we don't judge" TikTok trend, in which individuals share secrets with others with the promise they won't be judged for it.
The second Uber Eats spot features actor Matthew McConaughey as he walks up to a mirror with a photo of the Chicago Bears' former head coach Mike Ditka taped next to it, dressed exactly like him.
Shane Gillis andPost Malone are starring in a Super Bowl commercial for Bud Light. Post Malone and Gillis arrive at a house party together carrying cases of Bud Light. They spend time together around the front door, open a beer, and start talking to the Ring camera, letting their friends know they made it, before getting a text telling them to head to the backyard.
"Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice" stars Catherine O'Hara and Willem Dafoe, collaborated to star in a new Super Bowl commercial for Michelob ULTRA.
O'Hara and Dafoe see younger couples with Michelob ULTRA beer and challenge them to games of pickleball, with the winner getting the beer. Each of their opponents underestimated O'Hara and Dafoe, who were shown to win every match they played.
The commercial ends with O'Hara and Dafoe holding up two full glasses of Michelob ULTRA beer in a large room lined with freezers full of Michelob ULTRA cases.
Soccer legend David Beckham searches for his long-lost twin brother in a new Super Bowl commercial for Stella Artois. Beckham picks up a cold glass of beer and walks over to join his fictional parents at a table. His parents then proceed to tell him he has a twin brother whom they gave up and now lives in America, who is also named David.
The commercial then concludes with Beckham grabbing baby photos of him and his brother as babies before leaving the bar to search for the other David.
Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom star in a new Super Bowl ad for MSC Cruises. The company shared a preview of their ad on their YouTube channel.
The commercial features Barrymore and Bloom on a cruise ship, as the actress is playing the piano and singing "Holiday" by Madonna. Barrymore then asks Bloom, "Was that good," to which Bloom says, "Not great. Barrymore accepts Bloom's feedback and starts singing again.
Antonio Banderas is starring in a new Super Bowl ad for the German engineering company Bosch. Banderas costars in the commercial with an actor who plays the late WWE star Randy Savage, who died in 2011.
The 15-second teaser for the commercial features Banderas in a tuxedo, offering to open a jar of pickles for the wrestler as he struggles opening the lid. After Banderas opens the jar, the actor playing Savage thanks him for his help.

Aaron Rodgers Contract Dubbed 'Major Bargain' for Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers Contract Dubbed 'Major Bargain' for Pittsburgh Steelers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Pittsburgh Steelers finally got their guy. After months of speculation and strange conjecture about where Aaron Rodgers would or wouldn't play, he's finally put pen to paper for the black and gold. Advertisement While his skills and mobility may have diminished a bit, the $13.65 million the Steelers are paying him for 2025 still seems like a bargain. Even if he somehow reaches the contract's full potential of $19.5 million seems like a deal for the team. And PFT's Mike Florio agrees. "It's still not known how Rodgers can pump up his pay from $13.65 million to $19.5 million. There's talk that one factor to unlock the maximum package is winning the Super Bowl," Florio wrote. "The full amount, if he earns it, will still be less than what Justin Fields will make this year ($20 million). Which, for a player of Rodgers's capabilities, gives the Steelers a huge advantage. "It also saves millions in cash and cap dollars for other players. Whether it means they'll use the money to pay linebacker T.J. Watt or sign an available skill-position player (like running back J.K. Dobbins) or trade for a receiver (like Allen Lazard) or be ready to make a deal prior to the Week 9 deadline remains to be seen." The key here is that they're getting a top-tier quarterback (we think) for second- or third-tier money. And that's a lot less than what they could've spent elsewhere. Advertisement And it gives the Steelers room to add some pieces around Rodgers if it chooses to do so - and it should. A trade proposal that brings tight end Mark Andrews to the D.C. would continue the Washington Commanders' "all-in" approach to this offseason.

A trade proposal that brings tight end Mark Andrews to the D.C. would continue the Washington Commanders' "all-in" approach to this offseason. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders have already made a point that they are targeting proven offensive talent to build around breakout star Jayden Daniels to get as close as possible to a "win-now" window. Advertisement Acquiring All-Pros in left tackle Laremy Tunsil and receiver Deebo Samuel sures up gaps in crucial positions, but there remains one question mark that could make Washington's offense one of the best in the league: a tight end. Zach Ertz is a solid contributor, but he is going to turn 35 this season and may not be looked at as a long-term answer within the offense. Writer James Dudko of believes the Commanders should pursue a trade with the Baltimore Ravens to land a star tight end in Mark Andrews. Andrews, a former 1st Team All-Pro selection, could pair with Samuel and Terry McLaurin to create a lethal pass game that Daniels could easily thrive in. Advertisement "[Andrews would] join a depth chart already brimming with numbers, but there's still room for a clutch chain-mover and prolific playmaker in the red zone," Dudko said. The Ravens may already have a replacement waiting in the wings in young tight end Isaiah Likely, so with Andrews on an expiring contract, Baltimore could move on from their seven-year vet at the right price. In this deal, a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft could be a worthy offer. Andrews ranks as a top-5 tight end in the NFL when healthy and has proven that he is capable of being a security blanket within a group loaded with talent. Advertisement Upon signing a contract extension, McLaurin will complement Samuel by being an all-around receiving target. Samuel's dual-threat capabilities are as versatile as they come and Daniels' extraordinary rushing ability can get him out of trouble with ease. This all could allow Andrews to find space in intermediate routes through the middle of the field and fortify a diverse offense for coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. Andrews may just now be hitting the peak of his career at 29 years old, so with Baltimore's decision looming between choosing him or Likely this offseason, they could decide to get ahead of things and deal the veteran to Washington for draft compensation. Last year, Andrews caught a career-best 11 touchdowns, while also converting 39 of his 55 grabs into first downs, according to Pro Football Reference. Those numbers are a young quarterbacks best friend and allow for a fit in any offense, let alone one as dynamic as the Commanders' already is. Advertisement More star power, like Andrews, on offense opens Washington's Super Bowl window wide open for the next few years. Patriots announce Hall of Fame induction date for Julian Edelman and Bill Parcells

Patriots announce Hall of Fame induction date for Julian Edelman and Bill Parcells The New England Patriots announced on Monday that the Hall of Fame induction for former legendary wide receiver Julian Edelman and coach Bill Parcells will take place on September 20. It will be a celebratory event that will honor the newest members of the Patriots Hall of Fame. Edelman, who was one of the greatest playoff performers of all time, was a three-time Super Bowl champion and a former Super Bowl LIII MVP. He is ranked third behind Jerry Rice and Travis Kelce for most receptions and receiving yards in postseason history with 118 catches for 1,442 yards. Overall, he has compiled 620 receptions for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns in 12 seasons with the Patriots. Parcells coached the Patriots for four seasons and compiled a 32-32 record. He went 2-2 in the playoffs, as well as winning an AFC Championship in 1996. The Patriots made it to the Super Bowl that year, where they fell to the Green Bay Packers by a 35-21 score. The ceremony will take place a day before the Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium in Week 3. Fans will have a chance to honor the legends of the past before supporting the current roster of players and coaches in a tough AFC home matchup. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
