
Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development showcases innovations of projects and local startups at SusHi Tech Tokyo conference
As part of Abu Dhabi's economic delegation to Japan from 8-10 May 2025, Khalifa Fund's participating projects in SusHi Tech Tokyo include the Gracia group, which represents a leading model in smart and sustainable agriculture in the UAE, and the Rafiq application, an innovative platform that facilitates maintenance and decoration services, in addition to three projects three startups under the umbrella of Khalifa Fund, that excelled during the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development competition as part of the events of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Business Week in December 2024. These projects include Hyvego, a leader in biotechnology and climate technology, Nutrigenix, which operates in the field of nutrition, and Viai Tech, which focuses on developing sports tools and applications using AI technologies. Also eleven companies will be promoted under the Khalifa Fund Export Support Program.
The participation at the event aims to showcase the innovative projects of the participating members and enhance opportunities for business collaboration, knowledge exchange and technology transfer. It provides a platform for Abu Dhabi's prominent figures in technology and entrepreneurship to share their innovations and exchange knowledge and experiences with their global peers, reinforcing the emirate's position as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Mouza Obaid Al Nasri, Acting CEO of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, said: 'Abu Dhabi's participation in this prestigious conference demonstrates the astute leadership's dedication to utilising the most recent developments in this area and strengthening the UAE's standing as a worldwide centre for digital innovation. More than 50,000 people from across the world will attend the SusHi Tech Tokyo conference, which includes more than 500 start-ups. Numerous businesses that depend on the newest advancements in AI technologies and breakthroughs from a variety of industries, including architecture, food, health, finance, energy, sports, entertainment, space, web3, and generative AI, are also drawn to the event. Emirati business owners now have the chance to network with influential figures in the sector and exhibit their proposals on a global platform.

Participants will gain practical experience across five core modules, including Designing Space Missions (DSM), Applied Space Systems Engineering (ASSE), Space System Verification and Validation (SSVV), Space Mission Operations (SMO), and a Central Case Project (CCP) simulating the end-to-end planning, design, and justification of a real satellite mission. The curriculum is designed to deliver in-depth technical training through hands-on laboratory work and project applications using industry-standard tools and software, while fostering a strategic understanding of operational planning through site visits to leading UAE aerospace and technology organisations. Open exclusively to UAE nationals, the programme targets professionals working in government or private sector organisations within the space industry, as well as academic researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Conclusion of the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival 2025 - Middle East Business News and Information
The Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival, organized by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development ADTD, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, concluded its 10th edition, which was held in the Emirates Hospitality Center from July 30 to August 3. The current edition witnessed wide Gulf participation, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan and Egypt, in addition to an elite group of participants from governmental and private entities, promoting the festival's position as a leading regional platform for celebrating agricultural and heritage production, and enhancing cultural communication between the peoples of Arab countries. The festival's latest edition features an eclectic array of events such as art performances and competitions across diverse categories and age groups. The agenda also included educational sessions on palm cultivation and beekeeping methods, along with a series of training workshops on local handicrafts, and a children's corner for hosting artistic events, competitions and educational activities. H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of ADTD said: 'In its tenth year and with its remarkable success today, the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival proves its importance as a cultural platform that consolidates the local heritage and supports farmers, beekeepers and local project owners, strengthening the emirate's position as a prominent destination for traditional events.' It also held daily auctions for dates, honey and various traditional artefacts, part of the proceeds of which will be allocated to charity, in addition to traditional events that highlighted the Emirati culture. The event attracted widespread participation from the country's emirates, through its unique contests featuring various categories, including the Emirates of Ajman, North Emirates, Other Emirates, Citrus & Fruits, and Hoey Contest. Date contests covered the most well-known types, such as Khalas, Berhi, Lulu, Khenaizy, and Ajman Palms, while honey contests included types like Sumar, Crystallized, Sidr, Beeswax, and many others and Fruit contests included lemon, mango, and almond, figs, and Citrus. The 10th Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival featured 61 exhibitors from across the nation, including farmers, beekeepers, entrepreneurs and business owners, in addition to representatives from various government and private entities. This dynamic gathering in a unique cultural environment contributes to safeguarding Ajman's rich heritage while enhancing its authentic identity and consolidating its pioneering position as a leading tourist and cultural destination, both regionally and globally.
