Aditya Birla Real Estate shares gain 2% post Q1; check details here
At 10:40 AM, shares of Aditya Birla Real Estate were trading at ₹2,061.30, up by 2.13 per cent on the National Stock Exchange. In comparison, NSE Nifty was trading lower, down by 50 points or 0.2 per cent, quoting 25,169.55 level. The total market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹23,023.83 crore.
Why were Aditya Birla Real Estate shares buzzing in trade?
The real estate arm of the Aditya Birla group reported a loss (attributable to owners of the company) of ₹25.47 crore for the first quarter of financial year 2025-2026 (Q1FY26), as compared to a profit of ₹7.78 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. However, on a sequential basis, the loss figure contracted by over 80 per cent from ₹131.01 crore.
Total income for the quarter under review witnessed a drop, to ₹157.41 crore as against ₹365.24 crore reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year. That apart, the company's board of directors has approved the fundraise of ₹1,500 crore in one or more tranches to refinance the real estate developer's existing debts. It is also worth mentioning that the company is currently in the divestment process of its paper and pulp business.
"The Board at its meeting held today has approved raising of funds up to ₹1,500 Crores in one or more tranches by way of availing secured or unsecured Rupee Term Loan within the borrowing limits approved by the shareholders to refinance the existing debts of the Company taken for capex use of Century Pulp and Paper division of the Company ('CPP')...," the company stated in an exchange filing.
Brokerage view- Nomura
While the real estate company recorded an Ebitda loss for the quarter, global brokerage firm Nomura pointed that looking at the profit and loss (P&L) statement at this stage might not provide the full picture. This is largely because the company has a large pipeline of unrecognised revenue of ₹15,000 crore, that could be booked in future periods. "After the divestment of its pulp and paper business, the company has started reporting revenue for its real estate segment. Aditya Birla Real Estate follows the 'project completion' method of accounting and, as such, revenue is recorded only upon delivery. We assume that key deliveries such as the Niyaara Tower would take place only by end-FY28F," the brokerage firm stated
Nomura has maintained its 'Buy' rating on the stock with the target price of ₹2,700. "For Q1FY26, it incurred an Ebitda loss in its real estate segment largely owing to corporate overheads and marketing expenses. We expect this trend to be reflected in the coming quarters as well," the brokerage firm added.

The company's Ebitda for Q1 FY26 was in line with expectations, while the order pipeline remains strong. Nomura expects a 37 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in earnings per share (EPS) over FY25–FY28, led primarily by momentum in the T&D business. The brokerage highlights sustained opportunities in grid integration, substations, and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technologies, with a favourable demand outlook across key regions such as the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Meanwhile, Antique Stock Broking retained a 'Hold' rating, revising the target price to ₹954 from ₹919 per share. The brokerage highlights several positives, including an improved operating margin profile, better working capital management, the turnaround of SAE into profitability, and strong momentum across key business segments. However, Antique believes that these positives are largely priced into the current stock valuation, prompting it to maintain a neutral stance despite the company's improving fundamentals.

Hyundai's Q1 FY26 earnings may decline across key metrics amid weak volumes, shrinking margins, and lack of Tamil Nadu incentives, say brokerages. Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) will announce its Q1 earnings on Wednesday, July 30, where the company is expected to report a tepid performance for the first quarter of FY26, as per estimates by three major brokerages. Kotak Bank falls over 7% on disappointing Q1 results
Mumbai: Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank fell over 7% on Monday, their highest single-day fall in 15 months, after the bank's first-quarter results disappointed investors. Analysts see 2-30% upside in the stock from these levels. The stock ended at ₹1,968.7, down 7.3% from Friday. It was the worst performer on the benchmark Nifty, which fell 0.6%. Macquarie has maintained its 'neutral' rating for the stock, and has a target price of ₹2,300. The brokerage said the bank's credit costs were in line with the third-largest private bank and double those of the top two private banks, which is surprising given the bank's historically strong underwriting practices. ADVERTISEMENT Kotak shares have declined 9% in the past month, against Nifty Bank's decline of 2.1% in this period. SBI Securities estimates the fair value of stock at ₹2,000-₹2,050 over next 12 months and suggests buy-on-dips approach. "Loan and deposit growth remains steady, and with the embargo on the 811 platform lifted and new product offerings in place, performance is likely to improve from Q3 onwards, provided there are no further rate cuts," said Sunny Agrawal, head of fundamental research at SBI Securities. In February, the RBI had lifted the restriction on opening new bank accounts digitally via Kotak 811 platform, after a ban was imposed in April 2024. Nomura has a 'neutral' rating, with a revised price target of ₹2,150. "Kotak's results in Q1FY26 were soft, led by asset quality deterioration and a sharper decline in NIMs. Slippages and credit costs were elevated at 1.7% and 1.2%, respectively," said brokerage Nomura's analysts.
