Why no retire?
Both SRH & CSK, who started the tournament on a winning note, suddenly started losing match after match, as they failed in all departments of the game.
Ironically, they started losing matches in their own Chepauk, which seems to have turned into a batting paradise. Or have our aging spinners failed to live up to their reputation? It is high time CSK invest on performing youngsters and groom them for the remaining matches and for the next season.
It is time for our Thala Dhoni to hang up his gloves and boots, before his fans ask 'Why Not you Retire'?

Kohli returns to training in London, thanks GT's assistant coach for help
Amidst ongoing speculation over his future in international cricket, talismanic India batter Virat Kohli has returned to training in London and expressed gratitude to Gujarat Titans' assistant coach Naeem Amin for help in an indoor practice session. 'Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you,' Kohli wrote in his Instagram story, sharing a photo of him with Amin from the session. 'Good to see you, brother! See you soon,' Amin said, resharing the story on his account. Amin runs the Mighty Willow Academy in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and London, and was previously with the Sunrisers Hyderabad coaching staff in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Previously, India's fast-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya had come to Amin's academy for quality practice sessions. Having retired from both Tests and T20Is since June 2024, Kohli's focus is now solely on ODIs for India and the Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Kohli, who has 14,181 runs in 302 ODIs, last played competitive cricket when he struck a match-winning 43 in the IPL 2025 final, helping RCB finally lift their maiden trophy after beating Punjab Kings by six runs in the title clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Fans will have to wait until October 2025 to see Kohli back in action, as India are not scheduled to play any ODIs before then. India were scheduled to play three ODIs in Bangladesh in August, but the series has been postponed to September 2026 by mutual agreement between BCCI and BCB. Both Kohli and Rohit Sharma - who have also stepped away from Tests and T20Is - are expected to return for the ODI leg of India's white-ball tour of Australia, starting on Oct. 19 at Perth Stadium, and are followed by matches at Adelaide Oval and Sydney Cricket Ground on Oct. 23 and 25, respectively. Meanwhile, less than a year after a much talked about reunion with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), veteran off-spinner Ravichandran is likely to enter the mini auction ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after parting ways with the five-time championship winning side. Sources tracking the development have confirmed to IANS on Friday that Ashwin is indeed moving on from CSK, a franchise who he represented from 2008-2015 and became a two-time IPL winner. 'It's all but certain that he will be released by CSK whenever retention dates are announced. He will be only entering the auction pool,' further said the sources. Indo-Asian News Service

Vaibhav Suryavanshi hits 10 sixes to seal U19 ODI series win for India against England
India's teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced one of the most devastating knocks in age group cricket as his century helped secure series victory for his U19 team on the tour of England. Suryavanshi, 14, hit his first century in an Under-19 ODI, smashing 143 off 78 balls against England in Worcester in the fourth match of the five-game series to hand India an unassailable 3-1 lead. Suryavanshi has been in sensational form in 2025, taking the Indian Premier League by storm earlier in the year by smashing a century for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans. Suryavanshi had become the youngest centurion in men's T20 cricket when he hit a 35-ball hundred in April, the second-fastest century in the tournament's history. The left-handed opener was expected to dominate during the U19 tour of England against bowlers who had far less experience than the ones he crushed during the IPL. During the ODI series, Suryavanshi had scores of 48, 45 and 86 in the first three matches. In the fourth match, he turned on the afterburners, needing only 52 balls to get to three figures. The opener hit 10 sixes and 13 fours as he shared a 219-run partnership with Vihaan Malhotra (129) for the second wicket. The twin tons helped India post a massive score of 363-9 in their 50 overs. In reply, England's U19 side put up a brave fight, maintaining a high tempo but losing wickets regularly to be bowled out for 308 in 45.3 overs, falling short by 55 runs. For England, Rocky Flintoff - son of England great Andrew Flintoff - scored a superb century to keep up the fight. Flintoff, 17, hit 107 from 91 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes to keep his team within striking distance. He was the ninth wicket to fall, lbw to all-rounder RS Ambrish.

IPL phenom Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues sizzling form during England tour
Swashbuckling opening batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his brilliant form with the bat as he blasted a quickfire fifty in the third ODI against England's U19 team. Part of India's U19 tour of England, the precocious Suryavanshi was expected to dominate against players of his age, and he did not disappoint. He smashed 48 runs from just 19 deliveries in the first match of the series as the Indian team chased down 175 inside 25 overs at Hove late last month. The 14-year-old hit three fours and five sixes during the six-wicket win. Suryavanshi then made a more sedate 34-ball 45 in the second match which England won by just one wicket in the final over. He turned up the heat in the third match of the series on Wednesday in Northampton, smashing 86 from just 31 balls. The England U19 side had set an imposing target of 269 in 40 overs in a rain-curtailed clash. The opening batter was given the license to go after the bowling, and he did not need a second invitation. Suryavanshi cracked six fours and nine sixes during his entertaining innings, clearing the boundary ropes with ease. That Suryavanshi would dominate U19 bowlers came as no surprise after his sensational debut season in the Indian Premier League with Rajasthan Royals where Suryavanshi hit 252 runs in seven matches, including a century which made him the youngest player to score a hundred in men's Twenty20 cricket. In the IPL, Suryavanshi announced his arrival onto the big stage with a breathtaking 38-ball 101 against Gujarat Titans, and against an attack that included international bowlers like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Siraj and others. After his IPL ton, Rajasthan captain Riyan Parag said it was incredible to see a 14-year-old take on world-class bowlers. 'It was incredible,' Royals skipper Parag had said. 'We've spent two months with him and we have seen what he can do. But to see him do this against the world-class bowlers … I can't express in words.'
