BMW Championship 2025 tee times: Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy together for first 2 rounds

Many of the world's best golfers have descended upon Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, for the 2025 BMW Championship — the second of three legs in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Only 50 players remain, and after this week, only the top 30 in the season-long standings will advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, where the FedEx Cup Champion will be crowned. Of those 50 golfers, 49 of them are teeing it up in Maryland this week. World No. 10 Sepp Straka withdrew to attend to a private family matter, but at No. 5 in the standings, he'll still qualify for the Tour Championship. But the other nine players ranked in the world's top 10 will be at Caves Valley, including the Nos. 1 and 2, who are set to play together Thursday and Friday. Here's a look at the tee times and best pairings for the first two rounds of the 2025 BMW Championship. Scottie Scheffler will play with Rory McIlroy for the first two rounds of the BMW Championship How about this for a marquee pairing? World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, fresh off a T-3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, will be seeking his fifth win of the season this week. He's comfortably sitting atop the FedEx Cup Standings, having finished inside the top 25 in all 16 events he's played this year. His playing partner for the first two days is none other than World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, whom we haven't seen since the Open Championship at Royal Portrush nearly a month ago. He skipped the FedEx St. Jude in Memphis last week, which had been the plan for quite some time given his favorable position at No. 2 in the standings. McIlroy, who won the BMW Championship in 2012, enters this week hoping to capture his 30th career victory on the PGA Tour. He won the Masters in April to complete the Career Grand Slam. What time do Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy tee off at the BMW Championship? On Thursday, the pairing of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy will tee off at 11:16 a.m. ET for the first round. For Friday's second round, they'll go off at 1:38 p.m. ET. BMW Championship 2025 tee times Here's the full list of tee times for the first and second rounds of the 2025 BMW Championship. J.T. Poston will play alone due to the fact that there are only 49 players in the field after Sepp Straka's withdrawal. Round 1 / Round 2 (All times ET) Justin Rose and JJ Spaun paired together just days removed from thrilling playoff Long time, no see (not). Just a few days removed from a thrilling three-hole playoff to decide the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Justin Rose and J.J. Spaun will play together for the first two rounds of the BMW. Rose got the better of Spaun in Memphis on Sunday, making birdie on the last two extra holes to claim his 12th career PGA Tour victory and vault himself up to No. 4 in the FedEx Cup standings. Despite the loss, it wasn't all bad for Spaun, who took home a cool $2.16 million and moved up to No. 3 on the 2025 PGA Tour money list. He goes into Caves Valley looking for the third win of his career and his second this season after his unexpected and dramatic victory at the U.S. Open at Oakmont in June. This might not be the last time we see these two dueling, either. After all, both men locked up a spot on their respective Ryder Cup teams with their performances in Memphis. A late Ryder Cup audition for Maverick McNealy? Winless this season, McNealy has still managed to quietly put together a really solid season, racking up six top-10s and making the cut in all but four of his 22 starts. That's been good enough to have him sitting at No. 11 in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings entering this week, but he'll need a really strong performance at Caves Valley to make his case. What better way to do so than playing well in front of the captain himself? Keegan Bradley is facing more than just the normal stress of filling out a Ryder Cup roster. He faces the decision of choosing himself. Right now, Bradley — who won the 2025 Travelers Championship in a thrilling finish — is right in front of McNealy at No. 10 in the standings, meaning if he weren't the captain, he'd likely be a no-brainer pick. But he is, and this week will go a long way in determining who the American frontman will roll with at Bethpage in September.
