BRITAIN'S most iconic seaside landmarks have been revealed.
Historic England has compiled an interactive map celebrating 300 years of British coastal culture.

They include Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Big Dipper, the Art Deco Jubilee Swimming Pool in Penzance, Cornwall, Southend-on-Sea's Pleasure Pier in Essex, and Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland.
The public are being urged to submit photos, drawings, written information or audio recordings about the landmarks that hold special significance or memories to them.
The Missing Pieces project includes piers, pavilions, arcades, bandstands, lidos, railway stations and lighthouses.
Heritage Minister, Baroness Twycross, said: "Our seaside communities play a huge role in telling our national story.
"I encourage everyone to contribute to the Missing Pieces Project to preserve the history of our coastal towns and breathe new life into their future."

Duncan Wilson, chief executive, Historic England, said: 'Our seaside places hold a special place in our national story, yet the full richness of their heritage cannot be captured without the first-hand accounts, images and memories of those who've experienced them.

The sites on the interactive map also include the De La Warr pavilion at Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, and Peasholm Park in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

As UK beaches are set to see a significant rise in visitors due to summer heatwaves, a new study has been conducted to determine Britain's favourite seaside snacks. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad UK staycation provider Away Resorts has conducted a nationwide survey of 2,001 adults to find out the top five foods Brits like to enjoy on a visit to the seaside. Britain's favourite seaside snacks named - but fish and chips did not make the list | ffphoto - The study also found that 48% of Brits still love traditional seaside snacks, with many of adults surveyed claiming it is their favourite part of a day at the seaside. However, cost, health and dietary requirements are factors leading to change in seaside eating habits. Around 37% of Brits surveyed suggested more dietary options available such as vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. 42% of Brits surveyed commented on the growing cost of seaside snacks, and 42% commented on the lack of health benefits of consuming seaside snacks. Here are the top five popular seaside snacks - according to Brits. Ice cream Ice cream has always been a firm favourite for beach-goers looking to cool down with a sweet treat. According to the study by Away Resorts, almost 30% of Brits named ice cream the ultimate seaside snack. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Doughnuts Another sweet treat at the top half of the list is doughnuts, with 13.85% of Brits claiming it is their favourite seaside snack. Warm, fresh doughnuts can usually be purchased from fairground food stands. Hot dog One of only two savoury options on this list is the hot dog, which was voted in third place by Brits with a percentage of 9.82%. Hot dogs can be customised to suit personal preferences, are filling and easy to eat on-the-go. Seafood A day by the sea seems to inspire 9.82% of Brits surveyed to enjoy seafood. Oysters, prawns, mussels, crabs and more tend to be enjoyed on a day out to the seaside. However, traditional seafood options such as cockles appear to be reducing in popularity. Candy Floss Finally candy floss finishes the top five list, in fifth place. Nothing is more frustrating than rocking up to your holiday swimming pool and finding a solitary towel reserving a sunbed. It is not just the realisation that you lost the sunbed war, but that you lost it to someone who's not even there. Well, a British mum has sparked fury after she admitted bagging sunbeds for her big family, just to head out for the day. Mother-of-six Stephanie, 29, posted a clip of her holiday to Fuerteventura in Las Palmas, Spain, revealing she claims the loungers early in the morning before heading off to breakfast and a shopping trip. The 'day in the life' video has wracked up more than 120,000 views and has been met with criticism questioning her tactics. Stephanie told her followers: 'First things first, we have to claim our sunbeds at the pool area. We have come as a big family so we have to be there early.' However instead of heading for a swim straight away, the family ditch the pool entirely to go for breakfast elsewhere in town. After enjoying an 'amazing' full english, the mum then went shopping while the towels reserved the sunbeds. It was only after the trip that the family headed back to the pool and made use of the loungers. Keyboard warriors were quick to jump on the video and criticise Stephanie for reserving the beds then heading into town. One commented: 'I can't believe you claim the sunbeds and then leave.' Another wrote: 'Why claim sun beds if you're going out for the day?' A third TikToker suggested hotels should take action to stop this kind of behaviour. They said: 'All hotels should do the same thing. After 30 minutes of not being on sun lounger, towels are removed and other people get them.' The social media storm follows a study which revealed which parts of the UK are worst for reserving sunbeds abroad. More Trending The West Midlands came in first, with 15% of locals admitting to waking up early to reserve a lounger. The situation was similar in Wales, North East England, the North West or Northern Ireland, where 13% fessed up to this controversial practice. The best behaved were Yorkshire and the Humber and South West England. Just 8% of holidaymakers admitted to being a sunbed hogger, according to GetYourGuide.
