Alexis Harris is the de facto Delaware influencer. Her "First State Destinations" has nearly 50,000 followers on TikTok and 100,000 on Instagram. The 28-year-old Dover resident's content showcases "food, views and vibes" in and around Delaware, "because we're Delaware-based, not bound," as she often says.
"It's time to retire the outdated notion that 'Delaware is boring'—because that couldn't be further from the truth," Harris said. "There is so much to experience here, and I want to continue shifting that perspective."
In addition to First State Destinations, Harris runs a marketing business, helping others effectively leverage social media marketing and content creation. Last year, the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce gave her an Impact Award.
Now, Harris's social media accounts are exploring a new part of her life: pregnancy.
After starring on MTV's "Teen Mom 2," Kailyn Lowry has since transformed her reality TV fame into a thriving social media brand across multiple platforms.
Now at age 32, Lowry is a mom of seven with over 8 million followers.
She shares family moments, book recommendations and insight into her personal life with her audience.
Lowry is a Delaware State University alum whose passion for podcasting led her to founding the KLLR Podcast Network in 2021, a company that allows her to mentor and guide rising podcasters.
The influencer also has written multiple books, including "Pride Over Pity," a New York Times bestseller.
Senior TikTok sensation Larry Pennington of Rehoboth Beach recently has become one of Delaware's new stars on the app.
The beloved boomer is popular for sharing videos of his "thrifted home," while he also models his favorite outfits, many of which are colorful blazers.
The retired educator, boasting more than 230,000 TikTok followers, has featured his husband David Lasher in some of his content. Pennington's senior's newfound fame has caught the attention of news outlets like The New York Times and Newsweek.
The 21-year-old daughter of television's "Cake Boss" is studying hospitality business management at the University of Delaware while managing a sizeable social media presence. She has over 126,000 followers on TikTok and 328,000 on Instagram.
"I grew up on social media and TV and it just became normal to me," Valastro said.
Valastro's content is a mix of videos from her current day-to-day life, at school and at home in New Jersey, and "Cake Boss" clips. She shares videos of herself baking as a little girl, at her sweet 16 birthday party, working in the bakery and more. Posting just once or twice a month, most of her videos get views in the hundreds of thousands and some more.
After graduation, Valastro plans to work for the family business and hopes to "grow it to another level," she said.
Green thumb on social: Delaware influencer 'Black Plant Man' brings green theme to Newark's newest restaurant
Wilmington native Jymere Stillis-Stanford loves to guide his 24,000-plus Instagram followers on a journey through northern Delaware's hidden gem restaurants and other cool shops, including places in Philly where he lives.
Stillis-Stanford's background is as dynamic as his food adventures. He graduated with a dual bachelor's degree in mass communications and psychology from the University of Delaware before earning a master's in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.
But his love for adventure isn't limited to food and city life. Stillis-Stanford currently works in Philly as a flight attendant, so visiting cool places is his life (in more ways than one).
Newark resident Jaymi Carnazza, known on Instagram as Jaymi Devin (or JaymiKnowsFun), is a laid-back mom passionate about museums, state parks, gardens, history and great food.
She inspires her 62,000 Instagram followers to explore beyond the usual spots.
Always on the move — like a modern-day Carmen Sandiego, minus the red trench coat — Carnazza brings a fresh perspective to the Small Wonder. Whether it's a historic site or a must-try restaurant, she keeps her audience engaged with fun destinations worth discovering.
Taylor Reilly has a rare disorder called chondrodysplasia punctata, which causes dwarfism. She stands at 4-feet 2-inches tall and has had over 30 surgeries.
The disorder also causes respiratory problems; you may know Reilly from when she went viral on Vine as "inhaler girl."
Post-Vine, the 27-year-old Delaware native has over 171,000 followers on TikTok, 42,000 on Instagram and 500,000 on YouTube. Reilly makes content about everything from pop culture to her cat, and some of her videos have millions of views. YouTube was a full-time job for her for a few years, she said, but she eventually moved away from the platform.
"After sharing so much of my life online for some of the major formative years (15 to 25), it really began to take a toll on my mental health," Reilly said.
Now, after taking some time to figure out who she is without the camera, she's planning a content comeback.
"All I know is I love to entertain and bring people together with laughter and silliness," she said. "And if an added bonus to that is representing other little girls and boys that look like me and bringing awareness to disabilities of all kinds, that's pretty awesome, too."
It's not uncommon for influencers to have critics and Matt Walsh might have the most of anyone on this list.
That comes with the territory when you're a provocative political commenter and podcaster.
A favorite guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience,' Walsh is a former Georgetown resident who analyzes news with a conservative perspective.
He's amassed over 3 million followers each on YouTube and X. Walsh is best known for his controversial documentary "What Is A Woman?" (2022), followed by his latest doc, "Am I Racist?" (2024).
'Bros defying physics':: Delaware TikTok star has over 130 million views for dancing on air
Before becoming famous, Walsh cut his teeth in media, working as a radio personality at WZBH 93.5 FM The Beach in Georgetown. He was co-host of "The Matt and Crank Program" with Andrew Murr from 2009 to 2011. While hosting the show, Walsh shed light on struggling and living in a roach-infested apartment in Georgetown.
When the podcaster was in his 20s, he jokingly ran for mayor of Georgetown in 2010 against Republican Brian Pettyjohn. Walsh didn't win.

Opening date set for 2nd Wawa in Greater Cincinnati

Ohio's second Wawa opens this month in a Cincinnati suburb. Wawa's new store at 3501 Tylersville Road in Fairfield opens June 26, according to a company press release. The Fairfield location is the second of eight to 10 Wawas slated to open in Greater Cincinnati this year. The first Wawa in Ohio opened in Liberty Township in April. 'With each new store, we bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience and service to local communities, and we extend our commitment to being a good neighbor through community partnerships," Wawa President Brian Schaller said in the release. The Pennsylvania-based company will also provide free food and drinks at the Breakthrough T1D Walk at Kings Island on June 7, which raises money for diabetes research and treatment. Wawa proposed two other store locations in Fairfield. The company withdrew its request to rezone an area for a fourth store after residents pushed back. Michael Bloomberg bought his daughter a $4M Hamptons home

It's been a big week for Georgina Bloomberg — and she has so much more to come. Not only did the 41-year-old equestrian daughter of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg take to Instagram late last week to share news of her near-term pregnancy, but she also just became the new owner of an East End home. Indeed, she's the secret owner of a Hamptons waterfront residence located just minutes from her father's palatial estate, sources told Gimme Shelter exclusively. The May 30 beach house purchase comes as the billionaire heiress — also an animal rights activist and philanthropist — and her longtime love, finance whiz Justin Waterman, are about to become parents together for the first time. Advertisement '2 week countdown begins today. I cannot wait to meet you baby girl,' Bloomberg told her 100,000 Instagram followers. Bloomberg also shares a child, Justin — born in 2013 — with her former love Ramero Quintana, an Argentine Olympic show jumping rider. 16 Bloomberg is an accomplished equestrian. Rise Media The new home is on Cold Point Road in Southampton and comes with 100 feet on the water. It was last asking $4.29 million and went into contract quickly — closing for $4 million, according to records. It was an all-cash deal, sources said. Designed by acclaimed local architect John David Rose, the home overlooks Cold Spring Pond and Peconic Bay beach. The sale sets a new pricing benchmark for the Cold Spring Point Beach Community. Advertisement There's no pool at the house, but there is an outdoor shower — and a boat dock in the backyard. And if Bloomberg doesn't feel like meandering over to her dad's estate, her home has access to community tennis courts, as well as pickleball and basketball courts, along with beach access. But she can still bring the kids to see grandpa — and quite easily, too. 16 A screened-in sitting room looks to wide views. Rise Media 16 There's also space for patio seating. Rise Media Advertisement 16 The grounds offer serene settings for her and her growing family. Rise Media 16 Kids of all ages will love the sandy beach. Rise Media The charming abode is just 'five minutes' away from her father's estate, which is known as Ballyshear. That ivy-covered Georgian mansion is 22,000 square feet and overlooks Peconic Bay. It was built in 1910, spans a massive 35 acres, and is adjacent to the National Golf Links of America in Shinnecock Hills, which has hosted many US Opens. Michael Bloomberg, a member of the club, plays there regularly. The size of Michael Bloomberg's estate makes his daughter's new home seem relatively tiny by comparison. Built in 2012, her two-story home is still a very roomy 3,000 square feet. Advertisement It features four bedrooms and 4.5 baths, and sits on one third of an acre. The home's open floor plan and large windows showcase bay and pond views 'from every room,' according to the listing. It all opens to a great room with a stone fireplace — and leads to a chef's kitchen, a butler's pantry and a dining area. The second floor features the primary suite with a covered porch ideal for morning coffee at sunrise. There's an additional 760 square feet of storage space in the attic. The listing rep was Douglas Elliman's Brenda Giufurta, who declined to comment.

Dog Thinks He's Having Best Playdate, 'Little Does He Know' the Real Reason

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog enjoying his time in a winter wonderland thought his owner was treating him, but the truth was that their car had become stuck in the snow. Rakel Einarsdóttir lives in Iceland with her dog, Boris, a Labrador and border collie mix. The two were driving together in the snow when her car stopped. The snow gobbled up her tires. She hopped out to start digging her way out. She then let Boris out to get a break. In her dog's mind, this was the perfect spot for a playdate. She told Newsweek that Boris "absolutely loves the snow." Despite growing up in Iceland and being used to the snow, her dog still cannot get enough. Her May 15 Instagram video posted to the account @xxrakel showed Boris having the time of his life in the snow. He kept digging through the inches-deep snow and rolled on his back until his heart was content. But, as Einarsdóttir wrote in the video, "little does he know," the reason for the snowy fun was that the car was stuck. Einarsdóttir took breaks from trying to free the car to play with Boris, throwing snowballs in his direction, which he tried to catch with his mouth. She said Boris played for about an hour and a half before she put him back inside to warm up. It became a cycle of in and out of the car as the car was stuck for over three hours. "When he saw me get the shovel to try dig my car up, he got super excited and started digging a bunch of holes," she said. He's always loved to dig, as he grew up around a construction site and would often go to work with her dad. "He eventually got the memo that we were stuck and so he helped me a bit with digging up the car as well," she said. This process repeated itself before another car came and helped free them. Thankfully, Boris didn't mind. With over 1.9 million views on Instagram, viewers instantly fell in love with the dog's ability to turn a headache of a situation a positive one. "He said: 'Wooow this is nice, did you pick this spot all by yourself?'" commented one user. Another person commented: "Bro was literally digging a hole, but couldn't help dig you out?! He knew you were stuck and was not about to change y'all's circumstances. He knew exactly what was going on." A third commenter wrote: "Happy accident that led to a core memory being made. That's the good old days in the present moment." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
