Early Connah's Quay change must be a new final record!

In what must have been the earliest substitution ever made in the competition, Nomads made a change when the ball left the field of play straight after kick-off.
An error with the teamsheet meant that goalkeeper Jon Rushton was included in the starting line-up as an outfield player.
Former Saints' player Chris Marriott (pictured above) came off the bench after 10 seconds and commentating for S4C's Sgorio, former Welsh international Owain Tudur Jones said the FAW could have stepped in to resolve the matter.
The 2-1 defeat was Quay skipper John Disney's final playing appearance for the side and after the match, he said: 'This was our chance to try and put it right into Europe and I think we've played really well today.
'I think we limited TNS to less chances than they had last year and we won the game. But football's about taking your chances.'
A close range finish by Declan Poole handed Connah's Quay an early lead, but Rory Holden's superb free kick and Jordan Williams' header ensured Craig Harrison's side completed a memorable season with a domestic treble.

Russell Martin wants to reunite with Southampton star at Rangers as boss eyes swoop – with EPL left-back also interested

The manager was quizzed on James Tavernier's future FLYING FLYNN Russell Martin wants to reunite with Southampton star at Rangers as boss eyes swoop – with EPL left-back also interested NEW Rangers boss Russell Martin wants to raid old club Southampton for highly-rated Flynn Downes. But he could be priced out of a move, with relegated Saints demanding at least £10million for the classy playmaker. Advertisement 3 The clock is already ticking for Russell Martin to get his transfer business done Credit: Willie Vass 3 Flynn Downes is on his radar Credit: Getty Martin took Downes to St Mary's from West Ham, having also managed him at Swansea. The 26-year-old could fancy a crack at the Premiership instead of a return to England's second tier with Saints. But Martin will get no favours from his old club over the fee. He will be busy in the transfer market after being handed £20m to overhaul the squad. Advertisement Left-back Harry Toffolo is set to quit Nottingham Forest and is interested in a switch to Ibrox after playing only a handful of games late last season. Martin will inherit Jefte and Ridvan Yilmaz as left-backs, but the Turk has been heavily linked with a return home. Veteran Leicester City defender Conor Coady is also on Gers' radar. Meanwhile, Gers boss Martin insists he has no plans to strip James Tavernier of the Rangers captaincy. Advertisement He said: 'He's been the captain for a very long time. If he's playing, I don't see any reason to change that. And if he's not playing, it will force someone else. 'First and foremost, I want to speak to him to explain to me and have a discussion about the last two years, his thoughts on the team. SunSport reporters clash over Russell Martin as he's revealed as new Rangers boss 'His thoughts on what we're going to bring and how the players will feel about that. 'To play here as long as he has, to be captain as long as he has, takes a lot of energy. It's not easy. Advertisement 'I've been at a club where sometimes the one that's been there longest ends up getting criticised a lot because you've been there the longest. 'Then how much he gets used on the pitch will be down to Tav and how he trains and how he plays, the same as every player. 'But he's going to be hugely important in the culture here. 3 Advertisement 'I know what he's like as a person behind the scenes and he's fantastic. 'He was when I played with him and hopefully it hasn't beaten him up too much. It doesn't seem like it has. 'He still seems like he plays with a big smile and a lot of enthusiasm. 'It does carry a big weight to be captain of a club this size. He's done it incredibly well. Advertisement 'How much he plays on the pitch, I can't sit here and tell you he's going to play 50 games, 20 games, whatever. 'It will be down to him in the way he performs and the way he buys into it, which I'm pretty sure he will.' Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

For the third year in a row, Grenoble were once again beaten in the Pro D2 play-off match - with Montauban sealing their place in the top flight of France ahead of next season. Davies' Grenoble had finished the season top of the Pro D2 with a dominant 98 points - 21 more than sixth-placed Montauban. ‌ However, as was the case in 2023 and 2024, Grenoble were unable to win - as Montauban continued their remarkable play-off run with a spirited 24-19 victory. ‌ All is not lost for Grenoble and Davies though, with the Top 14 access match still to come. That will see them face the second-to-last team in the Top 14 from this season, with the winner playing in the top flight next season. Wigan achieve seven-try win over St Helens to earn their first Women's Challenge Cup trophy

Wigan have earned their first Betfred Women's Challenge Cup trophy at Wembley after a 42-6 win against long time rivals St Helens. Izzy Rowe led her team to a win by scoring 18 points against the four-time defending champions St Helen. Their thumping 42-6 win brought Wigan their first major trophy since the 2018 Grand Final and confirmed a seismic shift in the balance of power in the women's game with once-dominant Saints second-best in every department. Rowe's magnificent contribution included the first try of the second half and a perfect record of seven conversions including a looping effort from the touchline that put the seal on a stunning personal display. Wigan, given a major overhaul under head coach Denis Betts this season, were irresistible from the off and to add to Saints' woes, it was their former player Megan Williams who opened the scoring after getting on the end of Rowe's short pass. Error-strewn Saints missed a golden chance to level when Amy Hardcastle knocked on in front of the posts, and Wigan doubled their advantage midway through the first half when Mary Coleman raced through for her side's second. St Helens dug deep to barge the dangerous Anna Davies into touch but the wave of Wigan attacks continued and they moved further clear just past the half-hour when Papua New Guinea international Emily Veivers went over on the diagonal to give them an 18-0 half-time lead. The interval brought brief respite for Saints, with Rowe soon extending her side's lead before the holders finally got on the scoresheet when Katie Mottershead burrowed over from dummy half, with Faye Gaskin converting. The brief revival was ended on the hour mark when Eva Hunter punctured the Saints rearguard and further tries from Grace Banks, who roared over from 65 metres out, and Davies completed the rout.
