Tiger Woods is a doubt for the Players Championship after saying his "heart is really not into practising".The 15-time major champion missed the Genesis Invitational in February following the death of his mother earlier in the month.Woods competed in a TGL event on Monday night, with his Jupiter Links GC being eliminated."This is the third time I've touched a club since my mom passed so I haven't really gotten into it," Woods, 49, told Sports Illustrated, external."My heart is really not into practising right now. I've had so many other things to do with the Tour and trying to do other things."Once I start probably feeling a little bit better and start getting into it, I'll start looking at the schedule."Players have to commit for the Players Championship by Friday afternoon, with the tournament taking place from 13-16 March.Woods has not played a PGA Tour event since last year's Open at Royal Troon in July and underwent his sixth back procedure in 10 years in September.It is the last year Woods is exempt from the tournament through his Masters victory in 2019.

An already high-calibre field has been boosted the presence of another of golf's true superstars ahead of next month's Genesis Scottish Open. The likes of Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy have already confirmed they will head to Renaissance Club in North Berwick and compete for a prize fund believed to be in excess of £6.6million. Major champions Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Rose have also entered and they will be joined by defending champion Robert McIntyre, who saw off the challenge of New Zealander Adam Scott to land only the second PGA Tour win of his career and his first on home soil last year. However, Scheffler has now confirmed he will return next month and his announcement means all of the current top five players in the official World Golf Ranking will be amongst the field. While she has established herself as a top television presenter, many of her admirers will always refer to her classic segments on talkSPORT, where she and Ally McCoist enjoyed asking their interview subjects who they would like to take on a first date. In an interview with Loftus-Cheek, who now plays for AC Milan, the ex-England international took her by surprise when he chose Woods herself. Considering her comments in the months after that interview, Loftus-Cheek may have felt like he should have made a serious offer.
