
+1,000 students compete: Iraq wins Jury Award at Arab Robotics Championship
Shafaq News/ Iraq won the Jury Award at the Arab Robotics Championship held in Tunisia, the Ministry of Education announced on Sunday.
The Iraqi team, comprising students of various age groups from the Directorate General of Education in Basra, secured the award at the 16th edition of the Arab Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Championship. The competition brought together over 1,000 participants from 18 Arab countries.
The Ministry's media office relayed the Minister of Education's congratulations to Yaseen Nabil Kazem from Al-Awhad Model School and Tabarak Nabil Kazem from Al-Fajr Al-Jadeed School for their exceptional academic and creative performances, which led to their victory.
The Minister also acknowledged the contributions of parents, teaching staff, and the Ajeal Al-Tiqnia Organization, which played a key role in nurturing the students' scientific talents.

For its part, the management of the Arab-Chinese Digital Library welcomed Iraq's participation and affirmed its readiness to provide technical and intellectual support for future collaborative projects, thereby enhancing the presence of Iraqi culture on the global digital stage. It is worth noting that the Arab-Chinese Digital Library is a joint initiative between the League of Arab States and the National Library of China, aiming to promote cultural understanding by providing diverse digital content in both Arabic and Chinese, reflecting the depth of historical and human ties between the two sides.

Shafaq News/ Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met, on Wednesday, with a delegation from US tech firm SpaceX (Starlink) to explore cooperation in Iraq's communications sector. According to the PM's office, al-Sudani called Iraq a 'promising' market for investment and urged officials to facilitate Starlink's entry and speed up procedures. He also welcomed US tech companies as key partners in the country's 'digital transformation.' In turn, the SpaceX team confirmed readiness to operate in Iraq, noting that Starlink would strengthen digital infrastructure, 'enhance communications, and support economic prosperity.'

Baghdad - INA Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed the relevant authorities today, Wednesday, to study ways to facilitate the work of the American company SpaceX (Starlink). The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a delegation from the American company SpaceX (Starlink), which specializes in network, information, and communications technology. During the meeting, aspects of cooperation in the field of communications and the services provided by the company, as well as its coverage areas, were reviewed." During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that "Iraq today boasts many promising investment opportunities in light of the state of growth and the rapid urban and service expansion it is witnessing." He pointed to "the importance of the strategic relationship with the United States within the framework agreement and other bilateral memoranda of understanding, which extend to various economic, scientific, and developmental fields." According to the statement, the Prime Minister directed "the relevant authorities to study ways to facilitate the work of SpaceX (Starlink) and expedite the necessary measures," expressing his "welcome to major technology companies, particularly American ones, to operate in Iraq and the possibility of their cooperation with the Iraqi private sector, within the government's vision for digital transformation." For its part, the company's delegation affirmed its "readiness to operate in Iraq, provide services, and cooperate in the Iraqi market," indicating that "Starlink services will contribute to digital transformation and its applications for public and private sector institutions, develop communications, and achieve economic prosperity within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United States."
