Ensure stern action against those encroaching land: CM
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed officials to take stern action against land mafia and encroachers and said that such people should not be spared.
The CM issued the directives during the 'janata darshan' programme in
Gorakhpur
where he listened to the problems of nearly 200 people and assured them prompt and time-bound resolution of their grievances.
A significant number of complaints pertained to land encroachments.
Asking officials to take immediate action on all complaints, he warned that any delay in redressal would not be tolerated.
"Land belonging to the poor should be freed from encroachment and strict legal action should be taken against land mafia, in line with the state's zero-tolerance policy. Those who illegally occupy land or displace the weak must not be spared," Yogi said.
Several people sought financial assistance for medical treatment. Yogi assured them of full govt support and asked the officials to examine their documents and speed up financial assistance.
The CM turned emotional after coming across a wheelchair-bound man and assured his family that lack of funds would not be a problem and proper treatment would be provided to the patient.
Earlier in the morning, Yogi offered prayers at Guru Gorakhnath's shrine, interacted with children, inquired about their studies, and gave them blessings and chocolates.

Central Zonal Council meet: Shah to arrive in Kashi today
1 2 Varanasi: Union home minister Amit Shah will arrive here on Monday evening to chair the 25th Central Zonal Council, which will be attended by chief ministers of four BJP-ruled states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
