Billie Eilish says she's working with James Cameron on some sort of 3D concert thing
Noting (per Deadline) that Cameron was apparently somewhere in the audience for the show, Eilish said she couldn't reveal exact details about the project, but that it would involve the four-show run she's currently doing in the U.K. city, as part of Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour.
The obvious assumption here, of course, is a concert film: Eilish did one for her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, back in 2021, tapping director Robert Rodriguez and Oscar-winner Patrick Osborne for a film that blended live-action and animation. She wouldn't be the first major artist to do a concert film in 3D, either—U2, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and many others have pulled the trick. But getting Cameron on board would certainly lend the project some clout, and possibly some technical spark.
The big question mark here, obviously, is the man himself; he's never done a concert film, and if he's a big fan of Eilish's work, we can't find any interviews to that effect. (The pair have never worked together professionally, possibly because Eilish doesn't sing in Na'vi.) A full concert film would also run into the fact that Cameron is insanely busy, what with all those Avatars he's still in the process of making (Fire And Ash! Out December 19!) as well as the Hiroshima movie he keeps reminding people he's going to film. If someone was going to do something insanely technically complicated in terms of realizing a concert film, though we certainly wouldn't put it past the man. (We haven't been to this tour; does Eilish go very deep under the water at any point?) But for now, it's not clear what exactly she and Cameron are cooking up together, or on what scale.

Nancy Meyers Reacts With Surprise to News of 'The Holiday' Limited Series
THE RUNDOWN On August 1, it was reported that Nancy Meyers's 2006 film The Holiday was in development as a limited series for Apple TV+ by Deadline. But it looks like Meyers had no idea about the new show and was quick to comment on the production in an Instagram Story. Sharing a screenshot of a report on The Holiday series, Meyers wrote over it, 'News to me. Imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the first post I saw.' Here's everything we know about the project so far. In the original film, two women trade homes in the U.K. countryside and Los Angeles after struggling with their personal lives. Amanda Woods is a Hollywood trailer editor who ends her engagement and Iris is a newspaper columnist stuck in a rut. After trading spaces, Amanda meets Iris's widower brother, Graham, and surprises herself by reconnecting emotionally to love. Iris meets Amanda's neighbor, Arthur, a forgotten Hollywood icon, and then meets a film composer named Miles; both men help her transform. The series will likely be some version of Meyers's original story, keeping 'the setup of the movie about a single American and single British woman living very different lives who swap their houses for the holidays and find love in the process.' The original cast included Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black, but Deadline stated the show will feature 'new characters,' and thus new actors. But maybe we can hope for a cameo? Krissie Ducker is serving as the writer and executive producer for The Holiday series, along with comedian Rob Delaney as a consultant on the script. Not yet. This post will be updated.

Anthony Mackie is opening up about how he almost lost his role in 'The Hurt Locker' because of another director's unreleased film. During a recent episode of Variety's 'Know Their Lines,' Mackie shared the backstory behind being cast in the 2009 Oscar-winner. 'We shot that in 2007, and I remember I was doing a movie in North Carolina with quite possibly the worst director to ever direct. Ironically, because of that the movie never came out.' He continued, 'Because of that, the movie went over and I had to pull out of 'Hurt Locker.' They offered it to somebody else, and he said no because it wasn't enough money.' Despite Mackie being tied up with the other film, the production offered him the role again and was willing to wait until he wrapped the unreleased project. 'I went from this sucky director who had no business in being in the business or in the director's chair to Kathryn Bigelow,' Mackie said. 'The moment I landed in Amman, Jordan, we hit the ground running [with] cultural research, military research, character studies – the real work a director does. It really was poignant to me the type of people I want to work with and the type of people who shouldn't be working.' Mackie's performance in 'The Hurt Locker' was a career-defining role as he played Sergeant J.T. Sanborn, a soldier and member of the fictional bomb disposal unit in Baghdad, Iraq. The film received widespread critical praise for its portrayal of the war in Iraq. At the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, 'The Hurt Locker' took home six awards from its nine nominations for best motion picture, best achievement in directing, best writing, original screenplay, best achievement in film editing, best achievement in sound mixing and best achievement in sound editing.
