Bars of soap made with the Hollywood heartthrob's actual bathwater went on sale Friday and immediately sold out, reports NBC NewYork. All 5,000 bars of 'Sydney's Bathwater Bliss' soap, priced at $8 each, sold out almost instantly after going live online. Made with pine bark extract, exfoliating sand, and a few drops of the water Sydney Sweeney bathed in, the product was released at 12 p.m. ET and marked as sold out within seconds. Fans flooded social media with reports of website crashes and checkout queues stretching up to 250 minutes.
Others prospective buyers/bathers claimed the soap was never there to be had. "Nah, it was there," the Dr. Squatch account responded to one commenter. "People just bought it in .0001 seconds." Bars of the soap were listed for sale on eBay for over $200 shortly after the sale.

Sydney Sweeney proudly stands by her decision to sell her bath water to fans. At the NYC premiere of her forthcoming movie, 'Echo Valley,' the actress responded to a reporter who stated that her business endeavor encourages men to 'take showers.' She said, 'I mean, honestly though.'

'I think that it's more fun to see everybody else talk about it,' Sweeney added when asked what she thought about fan's mixed reactions to the stunt. She admitted that it was in fact her idea to use the left over suds from a previous campaign with Dr. Squatch and that she 'pitched' the idea of a bar of soap with a 'splash' of her bath water.
The idea for the product emerged after Sydney Sweeney appeared in a 2024 Dr. Squatch body wash promotion, where she was seen soaking in a tub—a moment that captivated many of her fans. Now, the Emmy-nominated Euphoria star has teamed up once again with the men's personal care brand, this time to launch a new product she personally helped create.

'You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad… so we kept it,' Sweeney wrote in their joint Instagram post last week. "Introducing Sydney's Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater.' The scent of the medium-grit soap -- in a nod to Sweeney's Pacific Northwest roots -- combines pine, Douglas fir and earthy moss.
Sweeney in last week's press release said her new product is 'weird in the best way.' The 27-year-old was asked about it Wednesday at the New York premiere of her new movie "Echo Valley," telling E! News she pitched the idea. But she wouldn't say much else about the soap just days before it went on sale -- and then sold out.
"I think that it's more fun to see everybody else talk about it," she said.
