Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Navas found dead in Chottanikkara hotel, police suspect he suffered cardiac arrest

As per a report in The Hindu, Kalabhavan's post-mortem will take place at Kalamassery's Government Medical College Hospital on Saturday to confirm the cause of the death. His body will then be handed over to his family. Kalabhavan's body has been kept at the SD Tata hospital in Chottanikkara.
Kalabhavan was staying in the hotel as part of the shooting of Prakambanam, a Malayalam movie. On Friday evening, the actor was supposed to check out of his room. However, after he did not arrive at the reception for check-out, the hotel staff found him unconscious in his room. As per the police, nothing suspicious was found in his room. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled his death.
A versatile entertainer, Kalabhavan earned widespread acclaim as a mimicry artist, playback singer and actor in Malayalam cinema. He debuted as an actor in the feature film Chaithanyam in 1995.
He starred in several films and television serials, including Mimics Action 500 (1995), Hitler Brothers (1997), Junior Mandrake (1997), Mattupetti Machan and Amma Ammaayiyamma (1998), Chandamama (1999), and Thillana Thillana (2003).
Kalabhavan was alo part of Chakkara Muthu (2006), Chattambinadu (2009), Senior Mandrake and Valiyangadi (2010), Veeraputhran (2011), Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty (2012), ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi (2013), John Honai (2015), Mera Naam Shaji (2019), among many others.
He was also a judge in reality shows such as Comedy Masters, Comedy Stars Season 2, and Thakarppan Comedy. Kalabhavan was also a singer.

Smriti Irani aka Tulsi Virani made a historic comeback in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's reboot version a week ago. Besides love from fans, Ekta Kapoor's iconic TV show has already created history with its numbers in the launch week itself. According to PTI, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 recorded over 1.659 billion minutes of watch time. The show drew 31.1 million TV viewers within four days. As per its television channel Star Plus, this is the largest-ever GEC fiction debut on television and digital platforms in India, and the highest-rated fiction launch across GECs in recent times. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi had a TRP of 2.5, overtaking top shows – Anupamaa and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, on the weekly television rating points (TRP) charts, as per data from the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC). After its premiere, it easily became one of the most-watched fiction shows of the week. In an interview with Times Now recently, Smriti Irani opened up about her show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi breaking records and becoming a significant part of Indian television history. Actor Isha Talwar criticised casting director Shanoo Sharma over an unusual audition demand. Talwar recounted an experience from a decade ago on social media. The 'Mirzapur' actor revealed that she was asked to perform a crying scene in a crowded restaurant, which shattered her a comment under a post by a publication, Talwar wrote, "So when I started auditioning for roles with Shanoo...I was told to perform a scene at a restaurant called Mia Cucina in Versova, Bombay... a CRYING scene in the middle of a busy working restaurant with customers dining next to my table... I was told I should have no inhibitions as an actor and hence I should be able to do a crying scene with Shanoo sitting in front of me and some of her assistants... it was such a confusing/weird ask (sic)."advertisementShe expressed that the unusual request affected her confidence as a budding actor. "It shattered my confidence as a young girl in films...
