NFL players can now partake in Olympic flag football
Olympic flag football, which will make it's debut at the 2028 summer games, just got bumped up a level after the NFL agreed to let its players partake.

Starting May 27, the Atlanta Falcons are back in pads for the first week of organized team activities (OTAs).
Atlanta's entering Year 2 under coach Raheem Morris following an 8-9 campaign in 2024 that saw them miss the playoffs for the seventh year in a row. The offense took a step forward to become a top-10 unit by yards under the new coaching staff despite starting two quarterbacks during the season in veteran Kirk Cousins and rookie Michael Penix.
The Falcons were aggressive in the 2025 NFL Draft by trading back into the first round to select edge rusher James Pearce Jr. from Tennessee after selecting Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker earlier in the round.
A new report says that might not be the last big move they make this offseason.
Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz reports that multiple teams have reached out to the Falcons about trading for tight end Kyle Pitts. Schultz's report states the Falcons would like to keep the former No. 4 overall pick and it would take at least a Day 2 draft pick for Atlanta to be interested.
No teams were specified in his report to be interested in Pitts.
Pitts made the Pro Bowl as a rookie with 68 catches for 1,025 yards and one touchdown on 110 targets. He has yet to meet those marks in catches and yards since then. He did produce a career-high four touchdowns in 2024.
Atlanta picked up Pitts' fifth-year option last offseason to secure his services for 2025. He'll be making $10.878 million against the salary cap this season but, at the time of this publishing, does not have an extension keeping him in Atlanta beyond 2025.

'Yeah, it's something I thought about at the end of the season, getting ready for this upcoming season, some of the things I wanted to do,' Daboll said. 'One of those was to bring some guys in, brought a number of them in. There will be another one here today. Give a good message about what it means to be a Giant for them and some different things that hopefully mean something to our players. 'Obviously a lot of legends that have played the game for this organization and tremendous football players in the National Football League, and I have a good relationship with a lot of those guys throughout my time here and they're willing to come in and talk to those young guys. I think it's beneficial for them.' It may be a coincidence, but New York likely appreciates that Manning, Michael Strahan, and Justin Tuck play the same positions as its 2025 first-round picks. Edge rusher Abdul Carter was grateful for the experience of listening to Strahan and Tuck, and Jaxson Dart has a history with Manning given their connections to the University of Mississippi. 'I think it's good for these players that are playing for this organization to hear from guys that have done it at a high level, not just for the New York Giants, but for the National Football League.' New York Giants Draft Pick Named Defensive X-Factor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Giants made seven selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, including a pair of first-round selections. Three of the seven Giants draftees were on the defensive side of the ball, headlined by No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter. Advertisement Carter is obviously expected to make an immediate impact, but he might not be the only Giants rookie to make an impact on day one from that side of the ball. Last Word on Sports' Joe Freer examined which Giants' rookie could be the team's X-factor on defense, and he decided that third-round defensive tackle Darius Alexander is the man. "The team's true x-factor on defense this year is third-round pick Darius Alexander." Freer wrote. "Alexander has the potential to help stop the run, which has been the defense's Achilles heel for years. If he can do this, mixed with his ability as a pass-rusher, Alexander could help make the Giants' defense elite." Alexander was a five-year player at Toledo. Across 58 games and three uniform numbers, Alexander largely anchored a Toledo defense that appeared in four-straight Bowl games. Advertisement His final two seasons at Toledo established him as a legit NFL prospect. In 2023, Alexander had 36 tackles, six for loss, four sacks, and broke up four passes. In 2024, he logged a career-high 40 tackles and eight tackles for loss, while picking up 3.5 sacks and his only career interception, which he took 58 yards for a touchdown. He also broke up an additional four passes that year. Freer believes that Alexander's ability in the run game will truly establish the Giants' defense as one the NFL's elite units. "Where Alexander can make the Giant's defense elite is in the run game." Freer wrote. "In 2024, the New York Giants' run defense ranked near the bottom of the league. They allowed an average of 143.7 rushing yards per game, good for 31st out of 32 teams. Additionally, opposing running backs averaged 5.24 yards per carry, the second-worst mark in the NFL." With Alexander and all of the other defensive additions the Giants made, Freer thinks the Giants' run defense will be stifling, with contributions all over the field. Advertisement "Now, the Giants' run defense issues extend beyond the interior defensive line. Their edge rushers, cornerbacks, and linebackers were often out of place, especially on extended or stretch runs." Freer noted. "However, a suitable second defensive lineman like Alexander can plug up the middle. Theoretically, teams will have to consider at least removing double teams from Lawrence in the interior or risk leaving Alexander one, as well. In either situation, there's a chance the Giants have a capable interior defensive lineman left one-on-one in most running situations." Anna Hall ties for second all-time in heptathlon points
American Anna Hall has posted a heptathlon score bettered by only person in history — her mentor Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Hall won the famed Hypo Meeting in Götzis, Austria, with 7,032 points on Saturday and Sunday — moving from fifth to tied for second on the all-time list. Advertisement 'The last heptathlon I did before this broke my heart,' Hall said of her fifth-place finish at the Paris Olympics, according to World Athletics. 'But I feel like this heptathlon healed it." Joyner-Kersee, the 1988 and 1992 Olympic gold medalist, holds the world record of 7,291 points and the top six scores in history overall. Hall matched Swede Carolina Klüft, the 2004 Olympic gold medalist, who also scored 7,032. Hall's previous personal best was 6,988 at Götzis in 2023. In the two years between Hall's two Götzis victories, she took silver at the 2023 World Championships — 20 points behind Brit Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the closest heptathlon in world championships history — while competing with a knee injury. Advertisement After January 2024 knee surgery, she competed in Paris on a knee that she said was strong, but not pain-free. Belgian Nafi Thiam won an unprecedented third consecutive gold in the seven-event competition. Neither Johnson-Thompson nor Thiam competed at Götzis. Come September, Hall can become the second American to win a world title in the heptathlon after Joyner-Kersee, who did so in 1987 and 1993.
