According to a release from Habitat for Humanity, they are currently accepting applications for two homes located in Sioux City. The application period for these two homes is open until April 30.
Sioux City seeking input on 2026-2029 Strategic Plan
The application will ask families why a program like Habitat for Humanity is necessary for them to find safe, decent, and affordable housing that would be otherwise unavailable to them.
'Habitat reduces or eliminates many of the barriers of traditional homeownership so more families can thrive in Siouxland, in a place they can call their own,' Habitat for Humanity executive director Shayla Becker said. 'Our organization does not provide free housing or housing for the homeless. Our Habitat homeowners pay a monthly mortgage plus escrow for home insurance and property taxes.'
Applications for the two homes are available at the Siouxland Habitat office located at 1150 Tri View Avenue in Sioux City. Applications can also be requested via email by contacting Siouxland Habitat for Humanity at families@siouxlandhabitat.org. Completed applications should be dropped off at the Habitat office.
